Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1594: Chapter 172: Baron Lind Kane, Shall We Have a Talk?

’Yunfeng’ didn’t quite understand, but he still knew that Aesces had this strange desire for control... To be honest, even though the mortals over in Toril lived more miserably, for some reason, he felt life there was rather comfortable.

Maybe it’s because both the deities and mortals of Toril lived selfishly yet clearly, and their lives were too detached from reality.

However, this world is different.

Anyway, for some reason, he finds Aesces more displeasing than AO... Even though this guy is more conscientious than AO.

’Yunfeng’ agreed very readily.

After all, for the Undead Tribe, there’s nothing worth watching in Aesces, but they do not want Hill to be implicated due to their reckless behavior.

Bear in mind, kind-hearted Hill, upon discovering their genuine intent to do good, didn’t even ask them for money!

So even when ’Yunfeng’ realized Aesces indeed doesn’t want him planting breadfruit trees at random... Of course, they can do so freely within their camp... he didn’t have much of a reaction.

After all, the World Master mentioned that he would have professionals come to exchange seeds with him, rather than having him hand them over for Aesces to manage.

As long as Aesces isn’t suggesting letting humanity fend for themselves, ’Yunfeng’ won’t create chaos for the sake of lives in the game.

Yet, Aesces seemed to sense the Undead Tribe’s displeasure and disdain for his actions, so he sent a serious letter to ’Yunfeng’ who proposed the ideas... The content essentially explained why he came to where he is today, and if he didn’t act this way, the world would naturally head towards collapse: because Aesces is not a World Without Magic itself, and if anything goes wrong, the whole world will completely annihilate like a sun burned to its end.

Aesces knew a bit about the origins of the Undead Tribe, so he clearly wrote that a Low Rank magic world like his is akin to a star that has been conserved of heat... While it can spawn life, if energy issues arise within the world, it either slowly descends into silence or explodes due to energy imbalance and pressure.

Moreover, the most crucial part is that in this enclosed star, the heat is not infinite.

Unless, like Toril, he opens the World Gate to absorb nutrients from other worlds or even the universe, which implies he must relinquish his control... Even AO, as powerful as he is, has to watch all sorts of things stir trouble in his world, right?

The Tablets of Fate were born after those deities caused various messes... He thinks AO may be ruthless, but that’s forced out of him.

Whereas Aesces has always hoped to find a way for the world to both persist eternally and not need to open up his world to welcome external evils.

Unfortunately, from the start, he was targeted by outsiders... both Triton and Rose are outsiders!

Including the Evil God who controlled the Goddess of the Sea, he may not know who she is, but at least Aesces can guess that the malicious entity who originally summoned Triton wasn’t the pitiful one he used to know.

Under others’ constant pressure, he can only defend step by step, yet even then, he chose to react to the moves rather than flipping the table directly.

The last part of his letter was: Thankfully, the existence of the Undead Tribe grants him the ability to cleanse the entire world without using all his powers.

Therefore, he doesn’t need to abandon the efforts and accumulation over the past years.

Furthermore, as long as Triton is willing to assist him in handling the problematic Goddess of the Sea from the beginning, he is even willing to accept this Exterior God as Aesces’s true deity.

Even though doing so would leave a significant power gap.

But Aesces has to admit, even as the World Master, he cannot merge all energy into himself... It seems there is some will in the universe that transcends everything, true perfection is impossible, in both life and godhood, there always needs to be a trace of regret.

He used to have too beautiful thoughts, which is why he faces retribution.

Hence, he must now deal with the world that developed abnormally due to past compromises... Now that the Scaret People and marine creatures will also become official citizens of Aesces, many things must change a bit.

Humans, and land creatures, have lived too smoothly because of his favoritism... Otherwise, the Forest of the Elves, which has lost its master, wouldn’t have turned into a paradise for Silk Spiders.

Normally, that Crystal Fruit should lose energy and become ordinary plants with the departure of their master.

War is another matter, but the creatures of Aesces have never experienced anything like global disasters.

They regard the droughts and floods that force them out of their homes as the most terrifying disasters in the world.

Even the kind of earthquake that harms many people simultaneously has never happened, not that it never appeared, but rather Aesces smoothed them out with his Divine Power to preserve enough life to fight ocean creatures.

So, once Aesces decides not to use his powers to eliminate these disasters, the humans of this world cannot survive... In their eyes, warfare is the greatest disaster.

How is that possible?

Therefore, even though the Undead Tribe feels he went too far, the Aescians must face this survival challenge.

Only those who withstand the test have the right to obtain the chance to live.

From then on, as the World Master, he will not change any climate or transformation in this world.

So, we can only ask the Undead Tribe to cooperate a little for the future of Aesces. Anything done in the Fantasy World could potentially cause a change among the deities... Especially such valuable plants, for humans in disaster, only deities can grant them.

The Undead Tribe cannot receive these prayers, and as their leader, William doesn’t intend to accept faith from other worlds. To prevent this world from giving birth to another troublesome entity like the Goddess of the Sea, he, as the World Master, must firmly control these beliefs in his own hands.

As such a powerful deity, Aesces actually wrote such a letter to a human leader, appearing genuinely sincere and humble.

However, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ only felt like he was spewing nonsense.

But as a Star Person whose home planet nearly turned to ruins, he seemed to have some vague sense of agreement with certain words.

In the end, he publicly posted this reply from the World Master on the forum, asking the Undead Tribe to discuss why he kept feeling something was not right with these words.

”Our home was destroyed because of us, so it’s only right that our mother kicked us all out, to recover on her own.

Do the humans of their world have that kind of skill?”

”What is the top person so proud about?

Our home planet hasn’t recovered to Aesces’ level, has it?

The yellow is a lot more than theirs, even the ocean has turned yellow.”

”So we paid the price!

Can we not discuss such serious issues on a game forum? Is the four-hour workday too idle for you all?”

”It’s common knowledge that the game forum shouldn’t go beyond its circle. Aren’t you all bringing your thoughts back?

It’s a rare occasion when Old Dog can’t figure something out. Aren’t you going to start thinking and teach him?

Snow Old Dog!

Hey~ the whole letter is basically saying one thing: In his eyes, humans are no different from pigs, dogs, cattle, or sheep.

So, as a human, that’s why you feel something’s off.”

”The deity only loves themselves, they don’t love humans, which is why you feel something’s off.”

”In his eyes, humans are like dogs to you. When he likes them, he treasures them, and when he doesn’t like them, or even when he is starving, he can eat dog meat.

Ah, no, I used the wrong metaphor. I should say it’s like you looking at cattle and sheep.”

”Sounds pitiful, but since you’re human, you can’t empathize with the deity... If you say this to AO, maybe they’ll comfort you with words like it’s also tough for you.”

Although there were suddenly a lot more one-liners, Snow Cloud Peak felt quite cheerful when the thought finally became clear... Since everyone was cursing Aesces, then it’s not his feeling that’s off.

Although he always says he’s a master of emotions, after being single for so long and being kicked so many times, Snow Old Dog does have a bit of a sense of his own standards.

He’s just got a tough mouth, not a hardened heart.

However, he no longer plans to do more for Aesces’ humans... Even though this World Master is purely a novice ambitious to the point of failure, he’s not entirely neglectful of the beings in the world either.

As an outsider, he could only lend a hand to the people around him, as he did in Toril.

Luckily, this is just a game... though it’s a bit too real, so real that a person like him, even when calculating strategies, is unwilling to sacrifice any NPC life.

Snow Cloud Peak thought for a moment and decided to call Lu Huayu to meet with Lind.

This Young Baron, although his personality isn’t great, is someone who can recognize the times, and he has a very self-advantageous talent... He seems to be able to judge who’s better to him and has more sincerity without much thought.

Thus, despite their Proud Sky Alliance being stronger than a single apocalypse, and him being the acknowledged commander, Lind trusts Lu Huayu more.

Although this was something he and Road Eunuch had planned for a long time, it was quite peculiar to Snow Cloud Peak when the day finally arrived... So, this made him more wary of Rose.

He believes what Hill said, that Aesces has already noticed the backdoors opened by the Evil Gods, but he absolutely doesn’t believe such a foolish Aesces can outsmart Rose!

Hehe~

He looked at the Young Baron, who was confused and on guard, and smiled slightly: ”Baron Lind Kane, can we chat?”
