Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1588: Chapter 166: The Seemingly Quickened Pace

This is a chaotic day, as the various families of the Proud Sky Alliance fought from noontime to the early twilight.

However, one person was tacitly excluded... even his own family members sneered at him, telling him to stay away... The Commander of ’Snow Cloud Peak’ could only enter the wilderness through the still-open rear gate located at a corner of the back city wall of the Baron’s Mansion for a walk.

While at it, he inspected the fields... Before Lind had his own hired farmers, the Undead Tribe had to help him plant the fields.

This was quite easy, as the fields outside Agleya City were also planted by them back then, with agricultural priests like ’Cunlü’ being very efficient. Just one of them could easily plant over a hundred acres of land.

The number of fields in this valley had been calculated by Hill, aside from the wilderness left for wild animals, and the pastures for cattle, sheep, and horses. There were only a few thousand acres left, which was quite manageable for them, especially for the Black Rose Family.

Although the lone strolling ’Snow Cloud Peak’ in the wilderness seemed somewhat pitiful, Hill was quite pleased with his situation... If he wanted to completely hide the existence of that Shell, it was best not to let other members of the Undead know.

As for ’Snow Cloud Peak’ himself, he was quite adept at keeping secrets.

Anything that leaked from him was absolutely something he wanted people to know... especially gossip, which he always wanted to share and discuss.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ took the Shell with a conflicted look.

He once considered a certain foolish Goddess of Lust from Bitoryl, even dumber than the Goddess of Love and Beauty, and once again, she appeared before him.

However... ’Snow Cloud Peak’ scratched his cheek... How could a goddess, who could be trapped in a net by her husband together with her lover, do something as covert as Aesces’ hidden manipulations?

If that woman had even a bit of Rose’s skills, Zeus would have been done in by her a long time ago!

’Snow Cloud Peak’ always felt that this Greek Goddess of Lust proved one thing: A certain part of a man is not controlled by intelligence at all.

Therefore, it is best to resolve things on one’s own and not to rely on others... So, what’s the situation now?

Then he looked at the Shell in his small pouch, which suddenly disappeared, and once again fell into silence... William is in such a hurry... So, the name God of Time and Space indeed has an issue, doesn’t it?

If it were that goddess appearing here, those familiar with the Greek Gods wouldn’t care so much, so apparently, it’s not her.

He shook his head.

In any case, in the future, it will depend on William’s performance to determine whether the entity behind Ellie is an enemy or a mortal enemy!

Friend or family, that’s impossible. The Greek Gods don’t have that kind of thing, and they don’t care... Their primary concern is always their enemies.

But. ’Snow Cloud Peak’ puffed his cheeks repeatedly, let out a sigh, and looked up at the sky in confusion... Those old stubborn Gods of Time and Space, they wouldn’t have any connection to the Greek Gods, would they?

Although their Commander fell into a fog, others weren’t interested in figuring out why he was crouched on the city wall in deep thought... Whether the Old Dog was scheming against people or matters, isn’t that normal?

If he were to stand there with an innocent look on his face, they would be suspicious of whether there was going to be a major upheaval within their ranks.

So, having determined the winner and secured their territory, the Proud Sky Alliance and their allied families cheerfully began their infrastructure and collective activities.

Hill belatedly realized why ’Snow Cloud Peak’ so desperately wanted a territory of their own... Even though relying on the energy of the main forces allowed them to gain the upper hand in several cities, inevitably there were some unlucky ones who became the minority.

Those who were easily recognizable as part of the Proud Sky Alliance were almost always guarded against by the local ruling families... Who knows if they might lead the Proud Sky Alliance’s main forces there!

Even if they could only dominate a hundred-mile radius, that would be better than not being able to hold even that.

So the situation for these members of the Proud Sky Alliance is not too favorable.

After all, Aesces had assigned the task for the inland cities’ Undead, which was to find and eliminate Silk Spiders and anyone associated with them. Such tasks were difficult to complete with a small number of people.

While they wouldn’t be cheated or killed... if that were the case, the Proud Sky Alliance would have descended with righteous fury, and those families weren’t foolish.

But life was incredibly dull, and most importantly, their experience was still a notch lower than those who could undertake grand tasks, which was hard to bear for members who were used to being a step ahead, relying on the influence of the Proud Sky Alliance.

Yet with the teleportation arrays in various regions not officially connected and the number of people fixed in each area, even if the members of the Proud Sky Alliance were willing to traverse long distances, it wasn’t possible to gain access to certain towns.

Of course, there would be a small fraction of people who got lucky, but overall, these scattered members of the Proud Sky Alliance were leading constrained lives.

They couldn’t blame anyone else, as they hadn’t made it into the top 200,000 and didn’t have enough luck!

The end times for ’Lu Huayu’ don’t even need to be mentioned. Aside from his family gaining the privilege of choosing a better landing spot due to his great performance later on, thus appeasing Ambori, everyone else could only rely on luck to enter.

Otherwise, why would he have shamelessly followed ’Snow Cloud Peak’ from the very beginning?

If he could occupy a city himself, he would surely act as he did in Toril, cooperating as a whole while privately separating, finding a place for himself.

Although he wouldn’t make enemies with the Proud Sky Alliance again, he also wouldn’t obediently follow Snow Old Dog’s orders like in Aesces.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ understands, of course, that the game’s officials are trying to balance the levels and abilities of players... Once the initial stage ends, members from other places could still come to find them through the teleportation array.

However, by then, their levels would differ vastly.

Once you fall behind, every step becomes harder. In a game, you can compensate with time, effort, and money, but why make it difficult for yourself?

It’s one thing if something can’t be done, but since there is a way, you might as well secure a suitable place early on to have a good life!

The game officials can only limit them within the rules, and as long as they have the ability to counteract, companies restricted by interstellar laws cannot openly target specific individuals.

Moreover, the company is doing this only to silence other players, not to genuinely see the Proud Sky Alliance, the first power, collapse... ’Snow Cloud Peak’ understands this well.

It’s simply about fighting the heavens, the earth, and other people~

Life is so boring, it’s nice to have someone create some fun for him.

And as Hill gradually understood the scheming mind of this guy, he was left... speechless.

He indeed got this far purely by good luck; compared to a tricky guy full of holes, more terrifying than an Eye Demon, there is simply no comparison.

As for what William and the God of Time and Space were thinking and planning over at Teraxil, Hill couldn’t quite see.

After all, he was staying in this corner.

However, from the increasingly high spirits of the Undead Tribe, he could glean a bit.

Originally, William almost let Aesces handle things on this side, but he clearly began to contend for control.

He doesn’t know what kind of communication happened between him and Aesces... There’s even a strange tacit understanding because of Triton, an enemy from the ocean shared with Aesces: the pace of the Undead Tribe and Moon Clan entering this world accelerated.

After sensing this abnormality, Hill quietly observed the developments on Triton’s island: he could clearly feel that the Moon Clan was no longer as chaotic as in the beginning.

It seems Triton set many restrictions on them, stopping them from being as free as they initially were.

However, fighting with giant, particularly ugly ocean beasts inexplicably stimulated the Moon Clan’s nerves, and more people were willing to enter this world... Although they protested and even staged island parades at the Eye of the Sea God Island, with some madman attempting indecent acts with Triton’s fish tail in the deep sea, under strong suppression and complete disregard from the game company, these people eventually resigned to their fate.

After all, before entering this game, they had signed some formal agreement... For example, everything in the game is decided by the game company, their private property won’t be infringed upon, but they have no right to point fingers at everything in the game.

Because this is an experimental virtual game, the game company had initially stated that rules could change anytime... Ismael may be completely lacking in management, but he is very skilled at shirking responsibility.

If at this moment, another similar game with slightly looser rules appeared, the Moon Clan would naturally turn away proudly, but... that’s not happening!

Everyone is wise. If they can’t create the possibility they desire, they must accept reality... After all, the company isn’t like the government, doesn’t need votes, and won’t be affected even if they cause a ruckus.

With more people from the Moon Clan entering, naturally, the number of the Undead Tribe can increase too.

If, in the first one or two million, the Proud Sky Alliance couldn’t hold an absolute advantage... because higher military exploits require more effort and consumption, even in big families, only the top talents would work so hard.

But in the upper-mid layers, at the stage of tens of millions of people, the advantage of the Proud Sky Alliance is very obvious.

Ordinary players who went through the entire Path of Destiny in Toril might earn 10,000 military exploits, whereas members of the Proud Sky Alliance, under the same circumstances, could earn at least thirty percent more exploits.

That’s why Eden was so anxious to push out the Proud Sky Alliance before the third or fourth wave of people entered.

For them, the more people that come, the less advantage they have.

Even with Ellie’s help from Eden, it’s all the same.
