Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1560: Chapter 138: The Punchable Baldy

The ’Snow Cloud Peak’ temporarily set aside matters of the heart and looked at ’Lu Huayu’: ”How are things on Lind’s side?”

”The young master clearly prefers Thunder, but he is quite willing to communicate with me.

Occasionally, he complains about the few friends his sister has made.”

”Hmm? Tell me more about it...”

”Perhaps his sister’s luck has helped her find some people within the Undead Tribe who are willing to assist her, but her luck doesn’t seem to have helped her screen their character.

No matter how good a person’s luck is, it can’t work in every situation.

When small matters connect and there is a slight deviation in direction, a person can end up on the wrong path... The road taken can be wrong, no matter how good the luck is, it can’t lead to the destination at the end of another path!

This was his original complaint publicly made with Ditte.

And he used himself as an example, saying that in the past he was striving on the wrong path, and the outcome is that now everything he does is misunderstood, and no one believes what he says.”

”What about Ditte? What did he say?”

”Ellie’s actions have not affected the family’s interests... Every act she performs represents Ellie, not Stelter.

Only the decisions made by him and the Earl signify the direction of the Stelter Family.”

’Lu Huayu’ spoke with a complex tone, and his expression showed a slight surprise: ”Lind was very shocked because their family clearly valued Ellie more.”

”What does this mean? Are they publicly telling us the Stelter Family doesn’t plan to manage Ellie’s actions? But they also won’t support her in any actions?” ’Perfect Bald’ felt he understood but couldn’t grasp the meaning, ”Three days ago... Ditte apologized to us for his sister’s persistence and asked Thunder to help explain that it was just the stubbornness of a young girl, and she would change... How...”

”Three days ago Ellie still had an ordinary beauty’s face, Zhu Meili even said to me that he couldn’t comprehend where Ellie’s courage came from.

Let’s be honest, Hill’s face is not easy for any woman to confidently stand next to him.

Especially in the secular world, where female elves are not common.

Didn’t Terry say? If it weren’t for Hill’s strength, even female dragons would try to take him home.

Zhu Meili observed Ellie for a long time, at first that woman actually knew she didn’t have the capital for it, in terms of strength and appearance, she was only outstanding among ordinary people.

But ever since the night she was completely rejected by Hill, she has become more confident.” ’Lu Huayu’ pondered, ”Didn’t I see her visiting Cunlü today?

She nearly became another person.”

”What do you mean? Did she get cosmetic surgery? Are NPCs in games also capable of surgery?” ’Perfect Bald’ asked in surprise.

”Toril can perform cosmetic surgery! Spells are so useful!

But unless the spell level that fixes appearance is particularly high, a Level Three Priest can revert her face to its original state.

Normally those who do this aren’t serious people... either they’re trying to deceive someone or have already done so.

Ellie certainly didn’t do this, the Nobility doesn’t support cosmetic surgery, after all, this relates to family inheritance... Once discovered, she’d be expelled from the family.

She seems more like she added a 10x filter to her face... For us Undead Tribe, even if we can alter our face shapes ourselves, wouldn’t they all be optimized by the system in the end?” ’Lu Huayu’ frowned and said, ”I think she’s somewhat like that.”

”Elemental transformation?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ pondered, ”Did she really assimilate with the Elemental Fairy? No longer remain human?

Does she not understand why the Stelter Family put so much effort into grooming her?

A mage can indeed secure three generations for a family, but... Ha~ When Ditte’s son inherits the Earl’s position, what will be left between them?

Isn’t it just those ties connecting them through bloodline? At the end of the day, it’s for Ellie herself, she can’t let her secular kinship be controlled by others... even if they’re all killed, the large amount of blood might still become a source of curses.

Yet once elementalized... when will Nobles ever put everything on such ephemeral things like emotions?”

”So... Ditte, ah, along with the Count and Countess Stelter, they already know?” ’Perfect Bald’ blinked, ”What now?

Basia City shouldn’t help Ellie against us, right?”

”That’s not really an issue, I actually have no assurance that those in Basia City will choose to help Ellie... I just have some concerns about whether Ellie is some kind of world protagonist...

Such extraordinary confidence isn’t something ordinary people possess.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ wasn’t too concerned, ”Therefore, Basia choosing neutrality was my most anticipated scenario.

Isn’t that what Ditte meant?

They won’t participate in any battle between Ellie and us.”

”I find that the Nobles’ emotions do retract very quickly... Ditte is one of the rare ones with humanity among the Nobles I’ve seen...” ’Perfect Bald’ couldn’t help but sigh, ”But after discovering Ellie abandoned her family, he can make up his mind so quickly.”

”Lind was a bit frightened, he didn’t expect, Ellie would be abandoned even before him.” ’Lu Huayu’ said with a peculiar expression, ”So... can you still use him?”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ thought for a while, knocking on Lily of the Valley’s flower pot: ”Beautiful Lady Lily of the Valley, does Hill have time to respond?”

Hill happened to have some time.

He suddenly became interested in all the chaotic happenings at Aesces... Perhaps Ellie was contaminated by the fragment of the Goddess of the Sea below when assimilating the Wind Fairy, but... Hill always felt that the divine fragment in that seaweed didn’t seem like Wendy’s handiwork.

Wendy could obviously amplify some emotion of Ellie herself, there was no need to rely on divine fragments.

As for Triton, he probably was still kept in the dark.

So, has the Goddess of the Sea’s backup plan for herself taken effect? Or, is there someone else behind it?

The location of Aesces, if calculated according to the position in the Multiverse... is located at a certain point of natural jump space, seemingly far from Toril and the complex personnel of the Stellar Realm outside Toril, but in reality, it just requires opening two doors.

It’s just that Aesces is guarded tightly, so it hasn’t been influenced by the passing Mages and Deities... he is indeed a capable Mountain Overlord.

But there are still quite a few sneaking in.

Especially before Aesces and Triton officially start a conflict.

Hill suspects it’s Rose, but then thinks it unlikely... Rose might have discovered who is sneaking in and borrowed a bit of light, but if she were to act, she wouldn’t start from the sea.

A sea spider isn’t really a spider, right?

But, who could it be?

The God System is too complex, even Triton has appeared, and Hill genuinely feels his way is foggy... no direction to be found.

As he was feeling lost, Lily of the Valley sent a communication request from ’Snow Cloud Peak’.”

”Is there something wrong?” Hill was a bit curious and contacted him directly.

”Mr. Hill, is Ellie... still Ellie?”

”Currently, you could say so, but in another year, she won’t be.” Hill answered without blinking, ”After assimilating with her Wind Fairy self, her emotions will become increasingly elemental, and her future stance will depend on which element she assimilates.

And the one in Wendy’s hands should not be of the Kind Alignment.

This transformation is irreversible.”

”Count Stelter has noticed Ellie’s transformation.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ hesitated for a few seconds before asking, ”Does he know this danger?”

”Of course.” Hill replied with a smile, ”This is something against the Natural Will, as long as there are Elemental Creatures present in a world, if someone wants to devour or assimilate them, the World Will will issue a warning.

A military noble of high status cannot possibly be unaware of such basic common sense.”

”Ah... now I understand Ditte’s reaction.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ smiled, thanked Hill for his explanation, and then bid him farewell.

”Old Dog?”

”Eh? Eh...” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ clapped his hands, ”Indeed, Ellie has a new backing board appearing, and it seems Eden is really going to profit this time.

Though I willingly gave it to them, why do I still feel so uncomfortable?”

”What do you want to do?” ’Perfect Bald’ touched his forehead, ”You weren’t planning to let the Moon Clan and Eden have a mutual destruction, then Eden barely wins and takes the final victory?

What else can be done in between?

A narrow victory!

If we mess them up a bit more, maybe... we can even seize an opportunity ourselves!”

”How high is their level, Elder?”

’Perfect Bald’ took out a tablet and glanced: ”Ah... rushed too aggressively and died twice, dropped a level, now Level 3.”

”What?” ’Lu Huayu’ was a bit surprised, ”Why so fast? Did she eat some divine medicine?”

”Hmm...” ’Perfect Bald’ pursed his lips, ”Killing the Moon Clan also provides experience, cross-level kills double the experience. She killed a Level Six at Level 1, what do you think?”

”What?” ’Lu Huayu’ bounced off the sofa slightly, ”Did she upgrade purely by killing? How is that done?”

”Joint Technique.” ’Perfect Bald’ hesitated for a few seconds and said, ”There’s also the trump card targeting the lower body... and the Moon Clan seems unable to change gender, you know... those who get beaten by her are real men.

She died because after the Moon Clan discovered her, they almost cared about nothing else, all their skills targeted her.

Thus, no matter how high her defense was, how long her health bar was... ah, you might not know, although she has a better relationship with Edna, the blessings on her come more from Lansendel.

That Lord of Dawn probably enjoyed watching that Path of Destiny too much, when she returned the Jade Holy Scripture, he gave her blessings doubling strength and health under the sun.

After all, a Priest~

Edna only allowed her to cast spells without interrupting and blue consumption only a quarter.”

”You know, you look really punchable when saying this, Baldy.” ’Lu Huayu’ asked softly.
