I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 798: Chapter 53: What Is Authority!

ps: The new book has been published, although it’s just one Chapter, you should feel the difference, right? We have really learned serious lessons!

In the penalty area of Tottenham, players from both teams gathered together, all their eyes fixed on Alonso by the corner flag, waiting for Alonso to execute the corner kick.

The tactic of Crouch and Modric sticking close to mark Chen Zhong was seen through at a glance.

They were trying to let Crouch hold the high point while Modric caused disturbances, making it difficult for Chen Zhong to concentrate. But will their strategy succeed?

”Real Madrid’s corner kick.”

”Alonso gestures by the corner flag.”

”The corner kick is taken.”

”It’s chaos in the penalty area!”

”Chen Zhong!”

Modric didn’t affect Chen Zhong’s jump at all; he tried to interfere, but Chen Zhong pushed Modric away directly.

As for Crouch?

When Chen Zhong squeezed forward, Crouch had already lost balance.

He lunged forward headlong.

Crouch turned around, just in time to see Chen Zhong leaping high and heading the ball like a lion.

”Bang!”

The ball smashed towards the goal, bounced off the ground, and although the goalkeeper reacted, he couldn’t stop the ball from entering the net.

1:0

After a brief silence, the entire Santiago Bernabeu Stadium erupted like a volcano.

The passionate Real Madrid fans waved their arms in disbelief, cheering.

Even Mourinho on the sidelines bent down to wipe his eyes.

”The ball is in!”

”Chen Zhong, it’s Chen Zhong again!”

”He always steps up when the team needs him.”

”In the 4th minute of the match, Chen Zhong made a sudden leap and completed the goal-scoring header with great power and force.”

After scoring, Chen Zhong got up from the ground, signaling to his teammates to run towards the corner flag to celebrate under Crouch’s unwilling gaze.

Crouch got into a dispute with his teammates—evidently, this defensive tactic had been rehearsed before the match. They were dissatisfied with how easily Crouch fell to the ground, allowing Chen Zhong to score easily.

In this regard, Crouch naturally defended himself but obviously couldn’t convince his teammates.

Thus, feeling wronged, Crouch wasn’t about to let the culprit Chen Zhong off the hook. He ran to the referee, loudly complaining, ”He fouled me!!”

”He pushed me from behind!”

”That’s definitely a foul!”

Crouch’s excited complaint clearly showed his grievance about his recent fall. The referee looked at Crouch, indicating he had seen it clearly.

And in the replay, it was clear to see that the contact between Chen Zhong and Crouch was normal; rather, Crouch seemed somewhat like he was feigning it.

Crouch was muttering under his breath, obviously dissatisfied with this incident.

The match continued. After scoring a goal, Real Madrid began to control the pace of the game. As far as Mourinho was concerned, there was no rush for them now.

Tottenham started pressing aggressively in the front field, and Crouch, filled with anger, began to move actively.

”Real Madrid holds the ball!”

”Passing continuously in the midfield.”

”Passes to Chen Zhong.”

”Crouch!”

”Slide tackle!”

In the stands, Real Madrid’s fans responded to Crouch’s actions with boos; just now, Crouch slid in on Chen Zhong in the front field.

And the timing was just as Chen Zhong was passing the ball away.

Chen Zhong didn’t stand firm against the slide tackle but fell forward instead.

The referee blew the whistle and showed Crouch a yellow card, which Crouch clearly wasn’t happy with.

Raising his arms forcefully, he seemed very agitated, but Chen Zhong stopped the teammates who wanted to argue and said: ”It’s fine, it’s fine!”

”He’s not a threat.”

In fact, Chen Zhong’s analysis was quite accurate, because just in the 15th minute of the game, Crouch received his second yellow card of the match.

That was during an attacking setup by Real Madrid. Marcelo received the ball on the flank, attempting to insert forward.

Crouch came from the side, executing a slide tackle without any hesitation.

Marcelo was sent flying.

The ball flew out of bounds.

Real Madrid’s players on the stands were visibly agitated, and the referee immediately showed a yellow card as a warning.

”A yellow card, another yellow card!”

”This is Crouch’s second yellow card of the game.”

”The German referee Brieh, officiating his 12th Champions League match, directly issued two yellows turned to one red, sending off Crouch with a red card.”

”Crouch, who had previously led the Champions League foul board with 24 fouls, also broke the previous record held by Maribor’s Sipi (20 minutes) for the fastest sending-off in the Champions League.”

”Before this, he hadn’t received the due penalty, but now, he’s blown it.”

Van der Vaart, watching this unfold on the side, was stunned. He ran to the referee, trying to get the referee to change the decision, but the referee was unmoved.

”I saw it clearly!” The referee told Van der Vaart.

Van der Vaart looked frustrated at the tall guy walking towards the bench—this guy got sent off in just 15 minutes; what to do with the remaining time?

How am I supposed to make a comeback now?!

If I don’t stage a comeback, how can I restore my pride?!

Van der Vaart felt like he was being messed with mentally.
