I Am Scouted by Real Madrid

Chapter 767: Chapter 37: How Many Goals Will He Score? (Part 2)

He muttered under his breath, thinking that Chen Zhong’s actions were merely because he had a closer relationship with Benzema.

If not, why didn’t he pass the ball to him just now?

As for what he would do after receiving the ball - whether he would choose to shoot, dribble past players, or something else - that was a matter of personal judgment.

The match continued, with Real Madrid already leading by 3 goals within 20 minutes. There was no anger in the hearts of Hercules’ players, only disappointment and confusion. They just wanted the match to end quickly.

Every minute and every second on the field now felt like torture to them.

In the stands, Real Madrid fans chanted in unison, ”Chen.”

”Real Madrid is controlling the ball in the midfield.”

”Very patiently.”

”Hercules is getting a bit anxious.”

”Whether in defense or in organization, they seem insufficient.”

”Chen Zhong receives the ball, chips it to Adebayor.”

”His first touch is too heavy.”

”Adebayor’s mistake is a bit amateurish!”

”But!”

Hercules’ attack was very ”decisive”, almost with a sense of resignation. Their offensive organization seemed more like, if it works, it works; if not, forget it.

Very soon, Real Madrid regained possession of the ball.

When Chen Zhong got hold of the ball, Hercules’ players had a conditioned reflex, quickly focusing their attention on Benzema and Di Maria, but this time Chen Zhong took an unconventional approach.

He made a lofted pass over the top to Adebayor.

However, Adebayor, muttering begrudgingly under his breath, was not well-prepared, and surprisingly made a basic error, letting the ball get away from him at the first touch, which was intercepted by a Hercules player.

Before the Real Madrid fans could complain, the Hercules fans were delighted.

Only to see the Hercules player with the ball tumble to the ground, while another figure dressed in white swiftly got up - it turned out that Chen Zhong, after passing the ball, was running forward as well.

Seeing Adebayor lose possession and the Hercules player handle the ball sluggishly, Chen Zhong slid in for a tackle and intercepted, driving forward, facing the goalkeeper one-on-one.

Hercules’ goalkeeper was Juan Calatayud, standing at 191CM tall, this 32-year-old Spaniard watched in disbelief as his teammate was taken down by a slide tackle, while Chen Zhong, with the ball, charged forward. One phrase echoed in his mind...

Please don’t come!

Unfortunately, his inner thoughts couldn’t be voiced, and after all, he was an experienced goalkeeper.

After a brief hesitation, he abandoned the goal and charged towards Chen Zhong. Chen Zhong, without the slightest hesitation, faked a shot and then deftly cut, tripping the goalkeeper to the ground. He then shifted angles, and before the Hercules players could retreat, he calmly tapped the ball into the net.

”Hat-trick!”

”Chen Zhong completed a hat-trick!”

”He demonstrated his dominance in front of the goal.”

”Scoring in three different ways.”

”And he’s a midfielder.”

”Imagine, if he were a center forward, how many goals he might score this season.”

”Of course, Mourinho would never want him playing center forward.”

”It would be too wasteful after all.”

”He can score just as well from the midfield position.”

”If Chen Zhong continues at this goal-scoring rate.”

”He might well compete for the Golden Boot on the scoring list.”

This season’s league top scorers, Messi and Ronaldo, were far ahead, and Chen Zhong struggled even to break into the top ten in the first half of the season. Yet just now, he had already squeezed into the top five of the league’s top scorers list.

Mourinho, watching from the sidelines, was amazed by the scene, while Real Madrid fans in the stands were transported back to last season.

That season, Chen Zhong dominated various scoring rankings, setting a new century record. However, this season, although not openly stated, Merengue fans were somewhat disappointed with Chen Zhong’s statistics, always justifying it with team goals and achievements.

But now, they could fully unleash their emotions.

After scoring, Chen Zhong also revealed his smile, with Real Madrid players following their captain, running to the corner flag to perform a team celebration gesture.

Chen Zhong made a gun gesture with both hands, sweeping around, and then teammates fell to the ground, pretending to be shot, before all of them got up with smiles to embrace each other.

Seeing this scene, Hercules’ players almost completely lost their fighting spirit, and the whole team looked dispirited.

”The match continues.”

”Hercules has the ball.”

”They need to be more careful with their passing.”

”Ramos heads the ball away.”

”Parejo.”

”Threading it through to Di Maria on the wing.”

”Real Madrid’s quick counter-attack.”

One could clearly feel that Real Madrid was playing with ease; after Parejo got the ball, he immediately threaded a through ball to Di Maria.

Di Maria took the ball, starting quickly, going down the flank.

Then, making a slight adjustment, sent in a cross.

Fans in the stands watched as the ball flew towards the penalty area, and in a flash, a white figure rose above the rest.

It wasn’t Adebayor, nor Benzema!

It was Chen Zhong.

Chen Zhong leaped high, demonstrating his astonishing jumping ability.

Hercules’ defensive player’s head was just a tiny bit below Chen Zhong’s knee.

He turned his head, eyes wide open, looking in despair at Chen Zhong completing a powerful header right above him.

Hercules keeper Juan Calatayud also looked up, surprised...

He had never seen a player with such remarkable jumping ability before.

At this very moment, only two words echoed in his mind, basically meaning: ”Damn!”

But he quickly composed himself, as the dazzling sunlight made it difficult for him to keep his eyes open. Facing the godly Chen Zhong, this Spanish goalkeeper had no idea what to do.

”Bang!”

The ball slashed down like a battle-axe; Juan Calatayud flusteredly tried to block it but ultimately failed to stop anything.

After bouncing off the ground, the ball flew into the net.

Chen Zhong scored again!

Real Madrid scored again!

5:0

Four goals!

A performance like a god descending to earth.

The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium erupted at this moment; all Real Madrid fans stood up, raising their hands, chanting Chen’s name.

In this match, Chen Zhong showcased scoring from movement, heading bombardment, epic long shots, tackles and shooting past the goalkeeper, and more. He is simply unstoppable!

Seeing this, Mourinho couldn’t help but turn to Francisco and said: ”Do you know how many more goals he has to score?”

”I know he jumps high, but I never thought he could jump that high!”

”Even if he went into high jump, he’d succeed.”

”Incredible jumping ability.”

”I don’t know...” Francisco smiled with his eyes, feeling the cheers of the entire stadium, watching Chen Zhong’s celebration, the players following, and the fans’ chants.

Four seasons ago, he once thought Real Madrid was about to be rejuvenated.

But not until last season, when Chen Zhong returned from the Apennine Peninsula, became the team’s captain, the world’s highest-paid player, and a new idol of the team, did he see the dawn.

Francisco felt as if he was in a dream at this moment.

I must be dreaming, right? I must be?

While someone was in great happiness, naturally, someone else was in great fear.

For example, the upcoming Champions League match against Real Madrid’s Lyon and the soon-to-be El Clasico against Barcelona.

Seeing Chen Zhong in such scorching form, their minds must have been racing with thoughts.

Of course, there are also those filled with fighting spirit.

Like Messi, who was overshadowed by Chen Zhong last season.

This season, his explosive performances and efforts are because he has a competitive heart; Chen Zhong’s explosion will only make him more determined...
