Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

After speaking, the instructor focused his gaze on Li Younan, carefully observing the details of Younan’s actions.

Li Younan took a deep breath, unable to hide his excitement. He gently picked up the gun, feeling its weight and cold touch. A special feeling instantly spread throughout his body, as if the gun had become a part of him.

The correct shooting posture, the core first rule, is that the muzzle should always point in a safe direction. When raising the gun, the muzzle points to the sky, and the finger remains away from the trigger.

This handgun has a slide lock function.

The instructor saw no issues, then took out the bullets: ”The first round is close-range shooting. You need to load ten bullets.”

Under the instructor’s gaze, Li Younan skillfully opened the box of bullets, took out 10 bullets, and press them into the magazine with a ”pop-pop-pop.”

Noticing this scene, the instructor’s eyes flickered slightly; Li Younan’s movements were extremely proficient, not at all the clumsy actions of a beginner.

With the bullets loaded, Li Younan held the magazine with his left hand and the gun with his right, lifting it towards the sky while waiting for the instructor’s next command.

Upon seeing this, the instructor stood in a safe position: ”Begin shooting.”

Receiving the directive, Li Younan took a deep breath and, with extremely precise movements, inserted the magazine into the handgun and chambered a round, then slowly lowered the gun, aiming at the bullseye.

The pungent smell of gun oil wafted into Li Younan’s nostrils as he remained extremely calm, his gaze fixed on the silhouette target.

A core principle in shooting is conscious aiming, subconscious firing. But for Li Younan, he did not need to aim; he only needed conscious firing.

Suddenly, without warning, Li Younan fired the gun.

”Bang bang bang bang.”

Almost without any pause, all ten bullets were fired within seconds.

The instructor was dumbfounded, his first reaction being that this kid made a mistake due to excessive nervousness.

People who have never handled a gun don’t understand the difficulty of such rapid shooting.

Even at close range, a deviation of a millimeter at the sight could result in a displacement on the target of several centimeters, and at greater distances, this deviation could be meters or dozens of meters.

Every time a shot is fired, the recoil causes one’s hand to involuntarily raise, and returning from the raised point to the aiming point, even for excellent shooters, requires at least a second to adjust.

Yet, each shot from Li Younan had nearly only tenths of a second intervals, giving the impression that his hand was just lifted by the recoil, immediately falling back without any adjustment before firing the next shot.

Such shooting frequency would be outstanding even among the police force.

Li Younan was simply experiencing the thrill of his first time shooting.

After the shooting was completed, Li Younan skillfully opened the magazine and inspected the gun, confirming that the magazine was emptied, and then placed the handgun on the tactical table.

The instructor sighed, shaking his head: ”What a shame, were you too nervous?”

Li Younan paused, looking at the instructor with some confusion, not understanding why he asked that.

The instructor said: ”You can come with me to retrieve your target sheet, the distance isn’t far. For a novice like you, don’t be too tense with each shot, aim before firing, otherwise, you’ll end up like now...”

He originally intended to say that the target sheet would be as clean as new.

But upon approaching, he was stunned, blinked, and took off his sunglasses to look closely at the target sheet again.

He then looked incredulously at Li Younan beside him.

Li Younan paid no attention to the instructor’s gaze but instead looked excitedly at the bullseye on the target. Surprisingly, there were 10 neatly arranged bullet holes.

They almost filled the small area of the bullseye, resembling a honeycomb coal brick.

This was also a deliberate control by Li Younan; otherwise, if each bullet went through the same hole, it would be inexplicable, and he would be at a loss.

Regarding his shooting skills, he was very satisfied.

The instructor’s expression was complex. It was hard to believe this was the result achieved by someone preparing to obtain a gun license, but the target sheet in front of him forced him to believe it.

...

Just ten minutes later, Li Younan received a graduation certificate signed by the instructor, thus granting him the legal right to bear arms in the United States.

Of course, this gun license only authorizes the use of handguns, and foreign tourists in the United States cannot legally purchase guns, nor can they take rented handguns from shooting ranges out of the premises.

Fortunately, Li Younan was going to participate in a hunting competition next, where he would be able to legally use and carry handguns.

After obtaining the dual certification, Li Younan posted two photos on foreign social media with the caption: ”All set, just waiting for the east wind.”

After receiving the certification, Li Younan had no reason to stay in San Antonio any longer. He packed his backpack the next day and headed towards his target, McLaren County.

To be precise, the place Li Younan wanted to go was Tilden Town in McLaren County.

Heading south along State Route 16, the view was of the Texas countryside and vast ranch landscapes.

Driving on this road, Li Younan suddenly remembered the ”Terminator” movie he watched as a child, the journey where Arnold Schwarzenegger took young Connor through the countryside in a pickup truck, and the scenery along the way perfectly merged with the scenes in his memory.
