Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Everything needs a summary.

Li Younan spent an entire evening to do this.

Reflecting on the past six months since resigning from his job in Shanghai, Li Younan still feels as if he’s in a dream.

In just half a year, he’s transformed from a corporate drone working tirelessly in a cubicle, to a travel blogger boldly pursuing freedom, living the dream many office workers long for.

But looking back at the past six months, most of the places visited were not particularly satisfying, and there is still a long way to go to complete his initial goals...

Most of the places he visited were commercialized tourist spots, and the dream of driving to more remote areas to the west remains unfulfilled—those breathtaking landscapes hidden in deep forests or untouched mountain peaks beyond the reach of roads have yet to be seen.

Of course, it’s not that Li Younan doesn’t want to, but rather, his plan for the first half of the year was to gain skills that would support his travels to those places by checking in at various destinations.

Now, upon a serious review, Li Younan is astounded to find he seems to have acquired such skills already. As long as the destination isn’t one that challenges the limits of human endurance, he can fully enjoy it without pressure, perhaps even leisurely.

Maybe once New Year’s and Spring Festival are over, he can officially start the second stage of his journey!

Of course, he hasn’t checked in at most cities and provinces yet, but Li Younan isn’t anxious... Life is long, after all.

To reach places where most travelers can’t go, it’s either by driving an off-road vehicle or hiking through. Previously, Li Younan had experienced the basics of off-road routes; this time he plans to try hiking.

He excitedly took out his phone and mentioned this plan to jk Long.

However, to Li Younan’s surprise, jk Long hadn’t replied by the following day.

Usually, even if not that day, he’d always reply the next.

Li Younan glanced at his last chat with jk Long—a week ago, since he hadn’t needed any video editing and hadn’t contacted him much.

Feeling somewhat strange, a vague sense of foreboding rose in his heart.

But with jk Long not replying, Li Younan had no other way to contact him, so he waited patiently.

Fortunately, on the third day, jk Long replied.

Li Younan asked, ”Busy these past couple of days?”

jk Long was vague, only saying, ”Something came up...”

Li Younan felt a slight unease and asked, ”Is... everything okay?”

Suddenly, jk Long fell silent for a long time before asking an unexpected question: ”Li Younan, can I trust you?”

Li Younan frowned, thought for a moment, and replied, ”We’ve worked together for quite a while; you should know me by now.”

”Could I ask you a favor?”

Without hesitation, Li Younan replied, ”As long as it’s within my capabilities, feel free to ask.”

”Could you look after someone for a few days... but please don’t ask them too much about me...”

Seeing this request, Li Younan paused for a moment and asked, ”Is it in Chengdu?”

After receiving an affirmative answer, Li Younan checked his holiday schedule; there were three days left before returning home.

He hesitated briefly, then candidly told his mom and Lu Xiaolan about it: ”A friend has a situation; I need to return early.”

His mom and Lu Xiaolan agreed without hesitation. They felt this holiday was already satisfying enough, and Li Younan’s affairs were more important.

Feeling somewhat apologetic, Li Younan said, ”I’m really sorry for the inconvenience, Mom.”

His mom replied, a bit displeased, ”What are you saying? Family shouldn’t talk like this. We’ve troubled your uncle quite a bit as well; say goodbye to him tonight, and we’ll return tomorrow.”

The next day, their flight landed on time at Tianfu Airport.
