Divine Level Witch Doctor

”Huh?” Zhao Yuan was stunned. He thought he had misheard and asked in surprise, ”Principal Ma, what did you just say? You want me to teach a course on the Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine?”

”That’s right.” Ma Guotao nodded forcefully. ”Zhao Yuan, I sincerely hope you’ll agree.”

Once he was sure he hadn’t misheard, Zhao Yuan’s surprise didn’t lessen in the slightest. In fact, it grew even stronger.

He gave a wry smile. ”Principal Ma, you’re not joking with me, are you? Me, teach a course? I’m just a first-year student. What qualifications do I have to teach?”

Ma Guotao said, ”Ability has nothing to do with age or what year you’re in. The medical skills you displayed when you defeated the Jinling Zhao Family put old-timers like us to shame. If you’re not qualified to teach, then most of the instructors at this university would be out of a job!”

Zhao Yuan was still hesitant.

Just then, BANG! The door to Ma Guotao’s office was flung open from the outside.

Qiu Haogu, Yang Jingbo, and the others rushed in. Even Xiao Xianlin and Liu Mingzhang, the two prized treasures of West Hua Medical University, were among them.

Before Zhao Yuan could figure out what was going on, Qiu Haogu had already rushed up to him and said excitedly, ”Zhao Yuan, don’t refuse anymore! Your skills are there for all to see; you’re more than qualified to teach!”

Yang Jingbo chimed in, ”Exactly, Zhao Yuan! You’re the disciple of the Great God of Witch Doctor. His posts about Traditional Chinese Medical Theory on our school forums were both profound and easy to understand. The explanations were so incisive that everyone who read them learned a great deal. As long as you can teach even half as well as him… that would be more than enough!”

Xiao Xianlin and Liu Mingzhang also joined in, trying to persuade him.

Only then did Zhao Yuan realize. ’So it turns out these experts and professors have been eavesdropping outside the door this whole time.’

After some serious consideration, Zhao Yuan nodded in agreement. ”Since Principal Ma and all of you professors think so highly of me, I can’t just hide what I know. Fine, I’ll bite the bullet and teach a course. If I do a poor job, I hope you can all be understanding.”

”That’s great!” Ma Guotao pounded his fist on his desk in excitement.

Yang Jingbo and Qiu Haogu exchanged a look and said in unison, ”Zhao Yuan, we have faith in your skills. We’re sure you’ll do an excellent job teaching this course!”

Meanwhile, Xiao Xianlin and Liu Mingzhang thanked Zhao Yuan profusely.

Zhao Yuan wasn’t a teacher. His agreeing to teach was both a personal favor and a huge show of respect for them all. That being the case, they naturally had to thank him properly, or it would have been incredibly impolite.

Being thanked by two national-treasure-level experts left Zhao Yuan feeling quite overwhelmed. He quickly offered a few more humble words before asking, ”Principal Ma, when do you plan for my course to start?”

Ma Guotao already had a plan. ”This semester is already coming to an end. If you start now, you won’t be able to teach many classes. I suggest it’s better to start next semester. We can use this time to do some prep, list your course as an elective online, and wait for students to sign up.”

”Alright.” Zhao Yuan nodded. Starting next semester would give him more time to prepare and ensure his lectures were well-developed. ”I just wonder how many students will sign up for my course. It would be pretty embarrassing if only a handful of people enroll.”

The principal’s office immediately filled with good-natured laughter.

Ma Guotao laughed. ”Zhao Yuan, you’re really too modest. I’m not worried at all that no one will come to your class. What I’m worried about is that there will be too many people and the classroom won’t be able to fit them all.”

”It won’t be that ridiculous, will it?” Zhao Yuan shook his head in disbelief.

Qiu Haogu sidled over and said with a grin, ”I agree with Principal Ma. If you don’t believe it, how about we make a bet? If a lot of people show up for your lecture, you have to teach another class on Medical Ancient Texts. What do you say?”

Before Zhao Yuan could respond, Director Ma jumped in and said accusingly, ”Elder Qiu, you’re so cunning!”

But in the next moment, his tone shifted abruptly. He turned to Zhao Yuan and said, ”So, uh, how about you count me in on that bet? If I win, you’ll teach another course on Chinese Herbal Medicine.”

Qiu Haogu was dumbfounded.

Zhao Yuan could only manage a wry smile.

Ma Guotao couldn’t stand it anymore and cut in, ”Alright, alright, what’s all this ruckus? If we have Zhao Yuan teach Medical Ancient Texts and Chinese Herbal Medicine, will he have any free time left? Besides, if you two get your way, won’t even more people come asking Zhao Yuan to teach courses on formulas, Acupuncture, and so on? Are you trying to work him to death?”

After chatting a bit more about the course and getting a clearer idea of the plan, Zhao Yuan finally left the principal’s office and returned to his dorm.

For the time being, he didn’t tell Liu Zhu, Wang Rongfeng, or Wu Yan about teaching the Basic Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine course. ’After all,’ he thought, ’it would sound like I’m bragging if I bring it up myself. Better to wait for the official announcement from the university!’

In the afternoon, Zhao Yuan received a call from Fang Yi.

Just yesterday, right after the competition with the Jinling Zhao Family had ended, Fang Yi had called to congratulate him. This time it was about something else. ”Little Brother Zhao, are you back in Rongcheng City? When can you make a trip to the pharmaceutical factory? We’re all out of raw materials and are waiting for you to mix a new batch.”

”Used up already?” Zhao Yuan was taken aback. ’Looks like the factory really has been working overtime,’ he thought, before saying, ”I’ll head over right now.”

Fang Yi said, ”Are you at the university? I’ll come pick you up. See you at the west gate in twenty minutes.”

”Okay,” Zhao Yuan agreed. He packed up a few things and went to the west gate to wait for Fang Yi.

A little over twenty minutes later, Fang Yi’s car pulled up in front of Zhao Yuan, and he was whisked away toward the pharmaceutical factory.

On the way, Zhao Yuan asked, ”How’s business been the last couple of days?”

”It’s been nothing short of explosive!”

Fang Yi got excited just talking about it.

”Let’s not even talk about the Soul-Stabilizing Incense. Demand for it constantly outstrips supply; no matter how much we make, it’s not enough to sell. As for the Vitality Pills and Beauty Pills, their extraordinary effects blew the market wide open right after their release. Their popularity is every bit as explosive as the Soul-Stabilizing Incense! I’ve been thinking about it… our current factory is on the small side, and its production capacity is limited. We can’t meet market demand. Little Brother Zhao, what do you think? Should we lease the surrounding land, get some more equipment, and expand?”

Zhao Yuan pondered for a moment before asking, ”How much will it cost? Is the money we’ve earned enough?”

Fang Yi laughed. ”Haha, Little Brother Zhao, you have no idea how much we’re making right now, do you? Don’t worry, the money is definitely enough! And even if it weren’t, if we so much as asked for a loan, the banks would be crying and begging to throw money at us.”

”Then let’s expand,” Zhao Yuan nodded in agreement. ’Who wouldn’t want to make more money?’ he thought.

After arriving at the factory, the medicinal ingredients were neatly stacked in the workshop, just like last time. The workers had all been sent out to prevent the formula from being leaked.

Just as Zhao Yuan was about to go in and mix the medicine, Fang Yi’s phone rang. He answered it, and after a few words, his face darkened, and he even let out a curse.

”What’s wrong?” Zhao Yuan asked curiously.
