Divine Level Witch Doctor

Although he had the idea of buying a house, Zhao Yuan wasn’t in a rush to act on it. He planned to go back home and ask for his parents’ opinion first.

If his parents couldn’t bear to leave their old home and wouldn’t come to Rongcheng City with him, the house would just sit empty. It would be better to look around first. Who knows, he might stumble upon a place with excellent feng shui. Wealth, method, companion, and land—the four great essentials of cultivation. The importance of land was self-evident; it wasn’t something you could just settle for by buying any old house.

Of course, regardless of whether his parents were willing to come to Rongcheng City, Zhao Yuan planned to bring his younger sister, Zhao Ling, over to study!

Rongcheng City was a major metropolis, after all. Its faculty and educational environment were far superior to his hometown’s. His sister had always been a good student. If she could receive a better education, she would surely be able to reach new heights!

With nothing to do this morning, Zhao Yuan said goodbye to his three roommates and headed out.

He first went to the anatomy building to tell Yu Ke that he planned to go home for the holiday, asking her to arrange for someone to cover his cleaning duties for the next two days. Although Zhao Yuan was rich now and could easily quit his job as an assistant in the anatomy building, he hadn’t.

He enjoyed spending time with Yu Ke and the other instructors in the anatomy building, as it allowed him to learn a great deal about anatomy. After all, there were no similar lessons in the medical arts Wu Peng had left him.

”You’re going home? That makes sense. You’ve been away for a few months, so you must be homesick.”

After listening to Zhao Yuan, Yu Ke nodded in understanding and added, ”When you get back, say hi to your family for me.”

”No problem,” Zhao Yuan said with a smile. ”Teacher Yu, I’ll bring you back some local specialties when I return. We don’t have much else back home, but we have plenty of mountain goods. I guarantee they’re all delicious!”

”Alright,” Yu Ke didn’t refuse. She even smiled a little and said, ”Then I’ll be waiting for you to bring back those delicious treats.”

Just then, a few other teachers from the anatomy building walked into the office. Overhearing their conversation, they quickly chimed in, ”What delicious treats? You can’t leave us out!”

Zhao Yuan chuckled, patting his chest in assurance. ”Of course not! There’ll be some for everyone!”

After spending a little while joking around in the anatomy building, Zhao Yuan went to the Chinese medicinal herb garden.

He first made a round of inspection and was very satisfied with the growth of the medicinal herbs. He then turned over some soil, sprinkled some water, and finally locked the gate before leaving.

Walking through campus, Zhao Yuan took out his phone and called Lin Xue.

Lin Xue had just woken up. After all, she wasn’t like Zhao Yuan, who could stay full of energy even without sleep. They had celebrated late into the night before returning to the dorm, so it was impressive she was even up this morning. Qi Xia, Luo Dan, and Yang Zi were all still fast asleep.

Zhao Yuan couldn’t help but offer a moment of silence for Liu Zhu and Wang Rongfeng in his heart. ’Those two are definitely going to call Qi Xia and Luo Dan later. If their girlfriends get grumpy when woken up, they’re bound to get an earful.’

After collecting his thoughts, Zhao Yuan got straight to the point. ”Lin Xue, are you free this morning? I’m planning to go home for the New Year’s holiday and want to buy some gifts for my parents and sister, but I don’t know what to choose. I was hoping you could help me out and give me some suggestions.”

”I’m free,” Lin Xue replied without hesitation. ”Where are you? I’ll come find you after I’ve washed up.”

Zhao Yuan said, ”I’ll wait for you downstairs from your dorm. Just come down when you’re done.”

After the call, Zhao Yuan went straight to Lin Xue’s dormitory. He waited for about twenty minutes before Lin Xue, wearing a bit of light makeup, finally appeared before him. She asked with a smile, ”Have you been waiting long?”

”Not really,” Zhao Yuan said honestly. ”Only about twenty minutes.”

Lin Xue was speechless. After rolling her eyes at him, she said huffily, ”If you’re this honest, you’re not going to have any friends.”

Zhao Yuan scratched his head and gave a sheepish grin, then added, ”You look really beautiful today.”

Lin Xue’s mood brightened instantly. She chuckled and said, ”Hmm, on second thought, it’s better to be honest.”

Now it was Zhao Yuan’s turn to be speechless.

’One minute you say being honest is bad, the next you say it’s good. What do you want from me? People say women are fickle, but you change your mind way too fast, don’t you think?’

On their way off campus, Lin Xue asked, ”What kind of gifts are you planning to buy?”

”Since the New Year is coming up, I was thinking of buying a few new outfits for my parents and sister, and maybe some holiday goods to bring back,” Zhao Yuan replied.

During the twenty minutes he waited for Lin Xue, Zhao Yuan had already decided what he wanted to buy. Besides the clothes and holiday goods he was going to buy with Lin Xue, he had also called Fang Yi and Cheng Yunlong, asking one to help procure some health supplements and the other to prepare some beautiful jewelry.

His parents had been poor for half their lives, and his sister had also endured over a decade of hardship. Now that he had the ability and the money, he naturally wanted his family to enjoy a better life.

Lin Xue nodded in understanding and asked, ”What’s your budget?”

”No budget. The sky’s the limit! In short, we have to buy good stuff!” Zhao Yuan waved his hand with the grand air of the nouveau riche.

Lin Xue was amused by his gesture and expression. She pursed her lips into a smile and said, ”I almost forgot, you’re a tycoon now. Alright, then let’s go check out some high-end brands and buy something nice to bring back for your parents and your sister.”

Leaving the campus, the two hailed a taxi and went straight to Taikoo Li.

This was a very famous shopping district in Rongcheng City, home to many boutique stores for world-class brands.

It was Zhao Yuan’s first time here, and he was a little lost. Fortunately, Lin Xue was with him. She led him into a high-end women’s clothing boutique.

As soon as they entered, a sales associate immediately came up to greet them with a smile. ”Welcome.”

Although the two of them were very young and Zhao Yuan’s clothes were all inexpensive, the sales associate’s attitude was still excellent. After all, they were professionally trained and wouldn’t show any disdain or look down on someone based on their attire.

With Lin Xue’s help, Zhao Yuan quickly picked out several outfits for his mother and sister, along with a few handbags. He had wanted to buy shoes as well, but he couldn’t quite remember their shoe sizes, so he had to give up on that idea.

Once everything was selected, Zhao Yuan didn’t even look at the prices. He just instructed the sales associate, ”Alright, that’s everything. Please wrap these up for me.”

”All of them?” The sales associate was stunned.

’I’ve seen big spenders before, but never one who buys clothes and bags by the dozen! What do you think this is, buying beer?’

Zhao Yuan nodded. ”All of them!” He took out his bank card and went to the counter to pay.

The sales associate didn’t breathe a sigh of relief until the card transaction was approved. She had been genuinely worried that Zhao Yuan wouldn’t have enough money on his card—that would have been mortifying!
