Divine Level Witch Doctor

Finally, a dancer couldn’t hold back any longer and asked Zhang Liping, ”Old Zhang, this... this dance... who choreographed it?!”

He was so excited and shocked that his tongue was in a knot, and he could barely speak clearly.

The other dancers, though their eyes were glued to the stage, all pricked up their ears.

They were also wondering which master had choreographed this incredibly beautiful dance, so full of classic Chinese charm. Why had they never seen such an incomparably brilliant performance before?

A dance like this would be a shoo-in for a gold medal at any international competition. How could its debut be at a medical university’s New Year’s gala? It just didn’t make sense!

A faint smile touched the corners of Zhang Liping’s lips.

She had clearly heard their doubtful words from before. They had even questioned and secretly disparaged her and Huang Shijia.

Now, their dumbfounded expressions were deeply satisfying to Zhang Liping, giving her the sweet pleasure of seeing them eat their words.

Her eyes fixed on the stage, she answered softly, ”It was Zhao Yuan!”

”What?” The dancers froze in unison, thinking they had misheard.

Zhang Liping turned to glance at them. ”The music and choreography for the Cloud Flying Immortal are both Zhao Yuan’s work! He created this entire performance by himself! So, what do you think? Is this performance world-shocking and timeless enough for you?”

Then she immediately turned her gaze back to the stage, unwilling to miss even a second.

This time, it wasn’t just the dancers who were reeling from shock; the musicians were completely stunned as well.

’The music *and* the choreography were both from Zhao Yuan?’

’How old is this kid, to be able to create such a world-shocking, timeless masterpiece? Damn it, that’s just demoralizing! We’ve struggled our entire lives, strived for a lifetime, dreaming of creating something like this to no avail. How the hell did he do it? Even for a genius, this is just monstrous. Is he even going to let the rest of us live?’

After the shock subsided, someone sighed mournfully, ”With a performance this good, why not take it to an international competition? It would be more than enough for the CCTV Spring Festival Gala. Why is it being performed at West Hua Medical University’s New Year’s gala? This is a complete waste, an absolute sacrilege!”

Hearing this, Ma Guotao and the other leaders of West Hua Medical University were displeased. They turned and glared fiercely at the speaker. The hot-tempered Yang Jingbo retorted directly, ”Watch what you’re saying! What’s wrong with our school’s New Year’s gala? How is this a sacrilege?”

The person who had spoken fell silent.

This was West Hua Medical University, their home turf. If he kept running his mouth, he wouldn’t even have a place to cry if he got beaten up.

Zhang Liping sighed as well. ”Zhao Yuan originally created this performance for West Hua Medical University’s New Year’s gala...”

As soon as she said this, the musicians and dancers were once again shocked into silence.

’To create a world-shocking, timeless masterpiece just for a university gala performance? Does he have to be so incredible, so extravagant?!’

The group fell silent.

On one hand, they were too shocked to know what to say. On the other, the performance on stage was reaching its climax, leaving them no room to be distracted by anything else.

The Cloud Flying Immortal Dance lasted for about ten minutes.

When Zhao Yuan played the final note and gently placed his hands on the Guqin, Lin Xue’s portrayal of the Immortal’s dance also concluded, ending in a stunning final pose.

The auditorium fell utterly silent.

The performance was over, but not a single person clapped, not a single person cheered. Everyone just sat there, stunned, as if still mesmerized by the graceful dance and the ethereal melody of the Guqin, unable to snap out of it.

The silence made things a little awkward for the two on stage as they bowed.

”What’s going on? Why is no one reacting? Was our performance just now that bad?” Lin Xue whispered, her heart pounding with anxiety and unease.

Zhao Yuan smiled, freed one hand, and gently squeezed Lin Xue’s delicate hand. ”Don’t overthink it,” he said softly. ”Our performance was brilliant. They aren’t reacting because they’re completely stunned by it and haven’t come back to their senses yet.”

Feeling the strength and warmth from Zhao Yuan’s hand, most of Lin Xue’s anxiety and nervousness instantly vanished. She calmed down at once and asked quietly, ”What do we do now? We can’t just stand here on stage like idiots, can we?”

”Of course not,” Zhao Yuan said with a laugh. ”We’ve finished our performance and taken our bows. It’s time to get off the stage and leave it for the next students.” With that, he took Lin Xue’s hand, turned, and walked off the stage, heading backstage.

At that moment, the audience was still in a state of stunned bewilderment.

This even included the two hosts standing in the wings and the performers for the next act.

Seeing this, Lin Xue skipped over to the female host, mischievously waved her hand in front of the host’s eyes, and turned back to Zhao Yuan. ”Look at them. Isn’t it like someone cast an Immobilization Spell on them? Haha, this is hilarious.”

It was only then that people in the auditorium gradually began to emerge from the captivating spell of the Cloud Flying Immortal Dance.

A single clap rang out.

A lone clap of hands, sounding so small in the vast auditorium.

But that clap was the fuse that lit the dynamite!

The people in the auditorium were jolted awake by that sound. What followed was an avalanche, a tsunami of applause that shook the entire auditorium. The thunderous clapping could even be heard clearly from outside the West Hua Medical University campus!

”Where are they? Where did they go?”

The musicians and dancers, having snapped back to reality, clapped wildly while craning their necks, searching for any sign of Zhao Yuan and Lin Xue. Some of the more impatient ones even jumped directly onto the stage.

Zhao Yuan and Lin Xue were about to go to the dressing room to change when the hosts called them back onto the stage. The moment they were back, the group of musicians and dancers swarmed them like a crazed mob. Tossing Ma Guotao’s earlier threats to the back of their minds, they began trying to poach Zhao Yuan right then and there. One after another, they declared that if Zhao Yuan was willing to come with them and forsake medicine for the arts, he was guaranteed to become a world-renowned, timeless master!

Seeing this, Ma Guotao was absolutely furious. He quickly led a group of West Hua Medical University’s leaders onto the stage to separate the musicians and dancers from Zhao Yuan and Lin Xue. The two sides glared at each other, each convinced that it would be a colossal waste if Zhao Yuan went with the other party!

For a moment, the tension on stage was palpable. These normally well-dressed, refined medical experts, musicians, and dancers were now all revealing their most ferocious sides.

The battle for Zhao Yuan was about to erupt!
