I Married the President

Chapter 292: Chapter 292: A Lot of People Are Watching

”Young Madam?” The man followed his gaze to Claire Sinclair, a hint of confusion in his eyes.

Claire Sinclair frowned. ”What ’Young Madam’? Don’t talk nonsense.”

”Haha... Young Madam, if you please.” Aiden Howkins burst out laughing, then made a welcoming gesture.

Claire Sinclair quickly tossed all her luggage onto the rescue boat and climbed aboard.

Before long, the rescue boat reached the shore.

Claire Sinclair was about to carry her things off the boat herself, but Aiden Howkins quickly took over. ”Young Madam, you go on ahead. Young Master Quincy has been waiting for you for a long time.”

”But my things...”

”I’ll carry them for you.”

”Oh, thank you!” Claire Sinclair’s heart had already taken flight. She eagerly ran up the mountain.

When she reached the entrance of the command center tent, she saw a familiar, imposing figure with his back to her. He was currently huddled around a map with several geological experts and subordinates, discussing a flood discharge plan.

Claire Sinclair suppressed the urge to call out to him and quietly backed away, feeling a pang of disappointment.

She had only taken two steps when a captivating voice, deep like a cello, called out from behind her. ”Claire?”

Claire Sinclair’s body stiffened. She turned around mechanically and met his gaze.

Adrian Quincy strode out. Before he even reached her, he eagerly reached out, pulled her into his arms, and held her tight, pouring all the longing he’d felt for her during their time apart into the embrace.

Feeling the man’s searing body heat, Claire Sinclair’s restless heart finally calmed down.

”I didn’t come looking for you. Teacher Hartwell told me to come here and borrow your internet to send out our feature story. The next mountain over has no internet or electricity. You should have it here, right?” she stated her purpose directly. She didn’t want so many eyes on her, but right now, she couldn’t find the courage to push him away.

’His embrace was too warm. She couldn’t bear to let go; she even wanted to claim it for a lifetime.’

Adrian Quincy held her greedily for a long time—so long that he knew he couldn’t hold her any longer. He then lowered his head and kissed her on the lips. It was just a fleeting touch, but it satisfied the small hope in his heart.

Claire Sinclair blushed and whispered, ”So many people are watching...”

His subordinates, people she recognized and people she didn’t, were all staring at them.

’So embarrassing...’

Adrian Quincy took her small hand and led her into the command center. ”We have internet. Use it as much as you want. Come on in.”

”Thank you!” Claire Sinclair was immensely grateful.

Adrian Quincy had someone bring over a table and set out all the things she had brought with her.

With electricity and an internet connection, all thoughts of her husband vanished from Claire Sinclair’s mind. She quickly opened her laptop, pulled up the feature story Henry Hartwell hadn’t finished, and began filling in the rest.

Adrian Quincy watched his wife get into the zone, the corners of his lips curling up slightly. Not wanting to disturb her, he turned back to the others and resumed the meeting.

...

Claire Sinclair’s workload was heavy. Although it was all mental labor, it was very time-consuming. She worked until eleven o’clock at night to finish the relevant articles before finally sending them to the Astoria Daily Press.

A few minutes later, The Aethelgard Headquarters published the feature story she and Teacher Hartwell had worked on online.

As it was an exclusive story, it immediately garnered widespread attention from netizens after being published.

[Oh my god, is the flooding on Mount Garlan really that bad?]

[I thought the floodwaters had already receded. I can’t believe there are still places so severely affected!]

[How can we donate money? I want to donate.]

[I want to donate some money too. We can donate items like tents, bottled water, quilts, and instant noodles as well.]

[Garlan Town is my hometown! Please, Astoria Daily, keep updating! I want to know how my fellow townspeople are doing!]

[My family is trapped on Mount Garlan, and I can’t get in touch with them at all. I’m so worried about them...]
