I Married the President

Chapter 262: Chapter 262: The Best in the World

After a full seven days of fun, the two had visited every interesting place in Aethelgard.

On the eighth day, it was finally time for Little Prince Hale to go home.

With his departure imminent, a crowd followed behind Little Prince Hale, including Governor Lockwood and his precious daughter, Phoebe Lockwood, as well as some special councilors and a throng of reporters.

At Little Prince Hale’s strong insistence, Claire Sinclair had no choice but to walk the red carpet with him to see him off.

At the other end of the carpet was Little Prince Hale’s private jet, its cabin door already open.

Beyond the red carpet, Phoebe Lockwood’s eyes had long gone red as flames of jealousy churned in her heart.

She was jealous of Claire Sinclair—so jealous she was going insane, wishing she could kill the woman, that eyesore, with a single glare.

’That honor was clearly meant for her, but this bitch had stolen it. By what right?!’

’That bitch, Claire Sinclair! What right does she have!’

Despite the inferno of jealousy raging nearby, Claire Sinclair was utterly unaffected. Composed, she accompanied Little Prince Hale to the base of the jet’s stairs and stopped.

Little Prince Hale slowly turned, his gaze dropping to the girl’s melancholic eyes. A subtle, almost imperceptible tenderness began to surface in his own.

”Little Cutie, I intentionally set aside all matters of state to spend these seven days with you. Can’t you give me a little smile?”

”Huh?” Claire Sinclair was a little stunned.

Little Prince Hale suddenly lowered his head and whispered in her ear, his voice audible only to them, ”I don’t know why you’re unhappy, but I can tell you that I’ve been very happy these past seven days with you. Thank you.”

After speaking, he slowly and elegantly straightened up, then raised a hand to gesture to his escort.

The cargo bay door of the private jet suddenly opened, and a stunningly cool, red supercar made a dazzling appearance.

The crowd stared in astonishment at the brilliant supercar. Even car enthusiasts had never seen this particular model, though they recognized the brand—KK-S, Country K’s number one luxury car manufacturer and a world-class automotive company.

It was common knowledge that Little Prince Hale owned countless supercars, but this one had never been seen on the market. Could it be a newly commissioned custom ride?

Just as the crowd was wondering, Little Prince Hale said with a smile, ”Little Cutie, I had this car specially commissioned. It took two years to make. The red represents my ardent love for you and your sister, and the auspicious cloud motifs represent the friendship between our two countries, K and A. Today, I am giving this car to you. It’s the only one in the entire world. I hope you like it.”

The moment he said this, everyone present was left dumbfounded.

A sports car from Little Prince Hale, for Claire Sinclair!

What an incredibly lucky and honorable thing to happen!

Instantly, everyone’s eyes filled with admiration, though some, of course, were filled with jealousy.

Phoebe Lockwood could barely restrain the urge to flee. If she watched this for another second, she would go insane!

’That fucking bitch, Claire Sinclair! What right does she have to receive such a precious gift!’

’The only one in the entire world...’

Claire desperately wished she could pretend not to understand, but he was always so considerate, using the simplest words and grammar in the gentlest, slowest tone to make sure she understood perfectly.

’How could she possibly accept such an expensive car?’

Without a second thought, Claire Sinclair started to refuse, ”No—”

”If you don’t accept this car, then I’m staying right here and not leaving. I’ll go back home when you accept it, and I’m not kidding.”

”...” ’Wasn’t this just being a complete scoundrel in broad daylight!’

Claire Sinclair racked her brain but couldn’t think of a single way to refuse.

The more she thought, the more anxious she grew. ’I really can’t accept this car. What am I going to do?’
