I Married the President

Chapter 271: Chapter 271: I Want a Divorce

’My head is about to explode!’

Claire Sinclair’s sleep was fitful. She drifted in and out of consciousness as her fever flared up again and again. She had been sick for three or four days, leaving her completely drained.

Even though she knew he was taking care of her around the clock, she couldn’t muster any energy, and her body just wouldn’t heal.

She had taken all the prescribed medication, but her fever would break only to return a short while later. She had lost even more weight.

Left with no other choice, Adrian Quincy summoned the renowned doctor Felix Collier, pulling him back from a medical conference overseas.

Felix Collier came from a long line of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and had been immersed in the medical field since childhood. His skills were superb, and he specialized in treating all manner of rare and complex illnesses.

Under Felix Collier’s care, Claire Sinclair’s health improved remarkably quickly. The recurring fever was finally brought under control, and her condition took a turn for the better.

Other than feeling weak, she had no other discomfort.

Even so, Claire Sinclair was still confined to Evergreen Garden. She wasn’t allowed to go anywhere beyond the courtyard.

Before, Adrian Quincy hadn’t trusted anyone else to look after her, so he had stayed by her side for days and nights on end. But the moment her condition improved, he vanished without a trace.

Claire Sinclair was deeply frustrated. When she had been sick to the point of death, she had neither the mood nor the energy to bring up the divorce. Now that she was recovering, she felt it was time to lay her cards on the table.

But it was as if that guy was avoiding her on purpose. He hadn’t returned for days, wouldn’t let her go back to work, and on top of that, forced her to drink loads of excruciatingly bitter traditional medicine every day. Her life was a miserable, exhausting ordeal.

Having finally reached her breaking point, Claire Sinclair messaged him on WeChat: ”Mr. Quincy, when are you free? Let’s hurry to the Marriage Registration Office and finalize the divorce. I don’t want to waste any more time.”

She waited for a long time. No reply.

’What is he playing at!’

Claire Sinclair felt the urge to smash her phone.

’Fine. If he won’t answer, I’ll go say it to his face. We’ll see how long he can run from this!’

Claire Sinclair grabbed her phone and walked to the courtyard gate. Just as she was about to step out, two plainclothes bodyguards appeared from nowhere and blocked her path.

”Young Madam, you cannot leave without Young Master Quincy’s permission.”

’Damn it!’

Claire Sinclair’s anger flared. She wasn’t going to put up with this any longer. She was getting out, even if she had to force her way through!

Fuming, she charged forward, determined to break through the arms blocking her path.

The plainclothes bodyguards didn’t dare to touch her, so they retracted their arms the moment she charged.

Seeing her determination to leave, the two men knew they couldn’t use force and could only follow her out.

Claire Sinclair glanced back at the two men and raised an eyebrow. ”Don’t follow me!”

Neither man spoke, and neither obeyed her command.

Young Master Quincy had given them strict orders: not to let a single hair on her head be harmed. They had no choice.

Seeing that they were unmoved, Claire Sinclair couldn’t be bothered to argue further and simply continued on her way.

She finally reached the bus stop, planning to take a bus to Quincy Manor.

Suddenly, a black sedan pulled up beside her. The window rolled down, revealing Aiden Howkins’s face.

”Young Madam, Young Master Quincy sent me to pick you up.”

”...”

Without a moment’s hesitation, Claire Sinclair got in the car.

A little over ten minutes later, the car arrived at Quincy Manor.

Claire Sinclair got out of the car and hurried into the building. She quickly reached his office and threw the door open without knocking.

Fortunately, there was no one else in the office, but he was on the phone.

Claire Sinclair had been bottling up her frustration for days. Her temper flared, and without a second thought for who he was speaking to, she yelled, ”I want a divorce!”
