BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree gave a soft hum. The boundless, clear light in the sky dispersed, and soon after, sixteen weakened figures floated toward Liu Xi.

Thud, thud, thud—

When the last wisp of clear aura faded, the sixteen figures were tossed to the ground before Liu Xi, each landing with a dull, heavy thump.

Liu Xi looked them over one by one, then casually pointed at one of them—the one who seemed at least somewhat pleasing to the eye.

”You. Come here.”

Luo Tianshen’s heart trembled. Bitterness filled his chest. No matter how much he had overestimated the youth before him, he had never imagined that the divine tree could unleash the power of a Heavenly Sovereign.

Even across the entire Western Heaven Continent, there existed no being that could contend with such strength.

He didn’t know why this young man hadn’t killed them yet, but he was certain of one thing—if he failed to satisfy him, he would die without a burial place.

Enduring the pain coursing through his body, Luo Tianshen struggled to his feet and walked quickly to Liu Xi, bowing his head respectfully.

”My lord.”

For a man of his age to bow to a youth was humiliating beyond words. The dignified Clan Leader of the Luo God Clan—forced to kneel like this—it made his heart ache.

Behind him, two of the Luo God Clan’s Low Level Earth Sovereigns were already unconscious, while the last remaining one stared at Luo Tianshen’s submissive posture with eyes full of bitterness, shame, and fear.

The other three Clan Leaders, though equally terrified, couldn’t help feeling a trace of schadenfreude at the sight.

Liu Xi raised an eyebrow at the sight of the respectful old man. ’Accepting reality this fast? He could bend and stretch—now that was a man with sense.’

What he feared most was meeting some idiot who couldn’t see the situation clearly and only knew how to shout and provoke. If he’d encountered one of those, he’d have just slapped them dead on the spot.

Liu Xi sat down lazily and spoke in a calm tone. ”Tell me—where is this place? Who are you people? And what are the cultivation realms here? Describe them in detail.”

Hearing this, Luo Tianshen’s heart settled. He was now certain—the young man before him must be a Heavenly Sovereign who had transcended from a lower world. To become the master of the divine tree, his strength could not possibly be low.

”My lord, this world is the Great Thousand Worlds—a place where countless lower realms converge. All races coexist here, and powerful beings are as numerous as the clouds.”

”This place is the Western Heaven Continent, within the Little Western Heaven Realm. I am Luo Tianshen, Clan Leader of the Luo God Clan, one of the Four God Clans of this realm. These others are the Clan Leaders and Elders of the Blood God Clan, Strength God Clan, and Bone God Clan…”

”Luo God Clan?” Liu Xi blinked in surprise. ’So this old man’s clan… that would make his granddaughter the future heroine, Luo Li. Of course, she probably hadn’t even been born yet.’

”Yes, my lord,” Luo Tianshen replied, not understanding the strange expression but keeping his head lowered nonetheless.

”Continue,” Liu Xi said flatly.

”My lord, I am the Clan Leader of the Blood God Clan—Xue Lingzi! I can explain everything to you as well! Choose me, my lord, choose me!”

Seeing Luo Tianshen speaking so smoothly with Liu Xi, Xue Lingzi couldn’t hold himself back, plastering on a fawning smile as he shouted desperately.

Li Wushuang and Gu Aotian, along with their elders, stared at Xue Lingzi in disbelief. To see the proud Blood God Clan Leader grovel like a begging dog left them speechless.

Luo Tianshen shot Xue Lingzi a vicious glare, his eyes sharp enough to cut. He wanted nothing more than to flay that shameless fool alive.

Liu Xi turned his gaze toward Xue Lingzi, his expression cold and his voice colder.

”Shut up. Your whole body reeks of blood. You don’t even look like a decent person. Keep running your mouth, and I’ll kill you where you stand.”

Xue Lingzi immediately snapped his mouth shut, lowering his head, eyes trembling with both fear and resentment.

Li Wushuang and Gu Aotian both struggled to suppress their laughter, while Luo Tianshen felt a renewed sense of confidence—perhaps he could live through this after all.

”My lord,” Luo Tianshen began carefully, ”the foundation of cultivation in the Great Thousand Worlds lies in Spiritual Energy. The first step begins with the Sensing Stage, where one learns to perceive the flow of Spiritual Energy…”

Liu Xi listened intently. The division of ranks wasn’t the most important thing—it was the understanding of each realm that mattered most.

The Spiritual Energy system differed greatly from the Dou Qi system. He had mastered every level of Dou Qi cultivation, but to truly control power here, he needed to understand the laws of this world.

”In the Spiritual Energy system,” Luo Tianshen continued, ”the realms are: Sensing Stage, Spirit Movement Stage, Spiritual Wheel Stage, and Divine Soul Stage. Then comes the Three Heavens Stage, then the Three Sovereigns Disasters Stage, and then the Nine Grades of Sovereigns.”

”Above that are the Earth Sovereigns, divided into Low Level, High Level, and Perfect Earth Sovereigns. Finally, beyond them all, stand the Heavenly Sovereigns.”

His explanation went on in great detail, while countless insights flashed through Liu Xi’s mind. He was beginning to grasp the structure of this world.

’Perhaps it’s time to let go of Dou Qi… and begin anew with Spiritual Energy,’ he thought quietly.

No one knew how much time passed before Luo Tianshen finally stopped, glancing nervously at Liu Xi, who seemed lost in thought. Relief slowly crept into his heart—maybe he would live after all.

”Finished?” Liu Xi blinked as if waking from deep thought. ”That was… quite enlightening.”

Then, a faint smile curved his lips.

”Now then—tell me, what other value do you have? If you’re useless, you can die here. Trespassing into my domain always comes with a price.”

Luo Tianshen froze. His entire body went cold. ’So after all that talking… he still plans to kill me?’

The words echoed in his mind—value… price…

Then, like lightning, realization struck him. Looking up quickly, he spoke in a trembling voice.

”My Luo God Clan is willing to offer five hundred million Sovereign Spiritual Liquids as compensation, in exchange for our lives, my lord!”

Liu Xi smiled. ”That’ll do.”

Sovereign Spiritual Liquid—something only Sovereigns could refine. Even a 1st Grade Sovereign needed a full month of cultivation to produce a single drop. It was both a currency and a rare cultivation resource across the Great Thousand Worlds.

For Liu Xi, who had just arrived in this world, obtaining a large amount of it would be a tremendous help in restoring his strength.

”The Blood God Clan is willing to offer five hundred million Sovereign Spiritual Liquids as compensation!”

”The Strength God Clan as well—five hundred million Sovereign Spiritual Liquids!”

”The Bone God Clan, too! We ask only for mercy, my lord!”

Seeing Liu Xi accept Luo Tianshen’s offer so easily, Xue Lingzi, Li Wushuang, and Gu Aotian immediately followed suit.

Liu Xi turned his gaze toward them, his tone indifferent and cold.

”Earlier, you three were the loudest when shouting for my death. And now you think a mere five hundred million can buy your lives? Dream on.”

The three Clan Leaders trembled. Their faces twisted between terror and despair—until Liu Xi’s lazy voice drifted out again:

”Add more money.”

Their expressions froze—then, as the meaning sank in, relief flooded their faces. It was as if they had been pulled from the depths of hell back into the light.

Luo Tianshen, however, remained impassive, though a faint glint of pity crossed his eyes.

Xue Lingzi swallowed hard. ”M-my lord… how much more?”

”Ten billion,” Liu Xi said flatly.

All three froze again. Ten billion Sovereign Spiritual Liquids was an astronomical amount—enough to cripple the foundations of even the strongest of the Four God Clans. But compared to their lives, perhaps it was a price worth paying.

Just as they gritted their teeth and were about to agree, Liu Xi spoke once more—his tone utterly calm:

”Ten billion… per person.”

The three froze solid. Ten billion each—that’s forty billion in total!

Xue Lingzi’s vision darkened, nearly fainting on the spot. ’Even if we sold our entire Blood God Clan, we couldn’t raise that much!’

Li Wushuang and Gu Aotian looked no better—their faces pale, their hearts bleeding.
