BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

In the Ancient Wasteland Region, Liu Xi once again appeared — now as the final Dou Di of the Dou Qi Continent. He couldn’t help but recall the day he first came here, back when he had only been at the Half Saint realm. The difference between then and now was like heaven and earth.

Since breaking through to the Dou Di realm, Liu Xi could feel his Dou Qi constantly rising without pause. With his careful cultivation and diligence, his strength had already far surpassed what it had been at the moment of his ascension.

However, the stronger he became, the more confined he felt within this world. The Dou Qi Continent had become like an infant’s crib — too small to contain his vast power. Liu Xi knew that it was time for him to leave, and in doing so, open the path for future generations to step into the Dou Di realm without the same restraints.

The scenery around him shifted rapidly as he reached the deepest depths of the Ancient Wasteland Region. Passing through a barrier that seemed both visible and invisible, he finally stood before a massive ancient tree — the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree. Towering thousands of zhang high, its vast crown radiated boundless tranquility, and its aura seemed to transform all things within heaven and earth.

”Bodhisattva Ancient Tree, I’ve returned.”

Liu Xi’s smile was bright. Back when he had ascended to the Dou Saint realm, this ancient tree had given him immeasurable aid, paving the way for his smooth progression toward Dou Di.

Swaying gently, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree seemed to respond with joy, its vast presence rippling with vitality. Since Liu Xi had helped it expel the Dou Di’s lingering resentment years ago, it had remained here, quietly absorbing the world’s energy to heal itself.

Once, in the distant past, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree had stood tens of thousands of zhang tall — its power rivaling that of a Dou Di. But after countless years of suppression by the Dou Di’s grievance, it had withered down to merely several thousand zhang. Now, freed from that burden, it was instinctively drawing on heaven and earth to restore its former glory.

Compared to the tree, Liu Xi’s figure was insignificant, yet his presence and aura were equally divine. Though he had taken many shortcuts, his journey to Dou Di had still been fought step by step through blood and battle — a supremacy earned, not granted.

When two beings of such magnitude met, the world itself trembled in reverence. Fortunately, neither harbored the intent to fight, or the land would have been shattered in an instant.

At that moment, a glowing projection emerged from within Liu Xi’s body — a miniature Bodhisattva Ancient Tree formed from pure spiritual light. The projection floated forward and merged seamlessly into the true ancient tree. Instantly, a faint azure glow erupted from its surface, and the colossal tree began to expand once again.

The sky split apart as spatial rifts tore through the heavens, and heaven and earth energies grew violent. Yet under the Ancient Tree’s soothing influence, all chaos quickly subsided. When the tremors ceased, the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree had regained its full ten-thousand-zhang height, radiating serene joy.

Liu Xi smiled. The tree had helped him countless times — now it was his turn to repay that kindness. Over the years, he had nourished the tree’s spiritual projection in his soul space with boundless energy and rare spiritual essences.

He gently placed his hand against its trunk. ”Old Tree, I’m leaving. I’ll soon depart from the Dou Qi Continent and head to a far vaster world.”

The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree responded with a gentle hum, its vines lowering to softly brush the top of his head in a gesture of affection. Though its intelligence was limited, its emotions were real. After sharing so many experiences with Liu Xi, it had grown attached to him.

Liu Xi lifted his head and looked at the tree. ”Would you like to come with me? This continent can no longer sustain your existence. Its laws suppress you, keeping you from ever developing a true soul. Only a wider, stronger world will allow you to grow freely.”

The tree trembled but did not refuse. Its meaning was clear — it trusted Liu Xi completely.

”So that’s it,” Liu Xi murmured. ”You’re rooted deep in the earth’s veins. You can’t move freely without severing those roots. You can only rely on the ground’s energy flow to survive.”

The tree’s gentle vibration confirmed his understanding.

Liu Xi’s expression hardened. ”Then let me ask once more — do you wish to come with me?”

A soft, resonant chime echoed in answer.

Liu Xi smiled faintly. ”That’s all I needed.” He took several steps back, his voice echoing like thunder: ”Then no force in this world will stop me!”

An ocean of Dou Qi surged from his body, shaking the entire realm. The power of heaven and earth bent to his will — every law, every particle of energy yielding before his presence.

His Dou Qi spread beneath the earth, penetrating deep into the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree’s roots — roots so vast they rivaled the tree’s height above ground. The deeper he delved, the heavier the earth’s resistance grew, pressing against his Dou Qi like an immovable mountain.

Yet Liu Xi pressed on. His Dou Qi, intertwined with his immense Spiritual Power, reached the deepest depths of the world — where the leyline flowed like a great river, surging with boundless power. The Bodhisattva Ancient Tree’s roots were buried there, drinking from the flow of the earth’s essence. It was no wonder this divine being possessed power equal to the heavens themselves.

”Rise!”

Liu Xi did not covet the leyline’s power — he merely used his Dou Qi to lift the ancient roots from its depths. Normally, it would be impossible for even a Dou Di to uproot such a being, for that would mean defying the entire world’s foundation itself.

But Liu Xi was different. He had merged twenty-two Heavenly Flames — embodiments of the continent’s very essence. Instead of resisting the world, he was part of it.

As he released the Azure Lotus Flame, the leyline energy ceased resisting and instead flowed into his Dou Qi, empowering it. The earth’s resistance melted away, and the massive roots began to loosen, rising effortlessly from the depths.

The once-violent leyline stabilized itself as the roots withdrew, sealing off the rift and preventing any energy surge or eruption.

Above ground, however, the land quaked violently. The terrain split apart, ravines forming one after another like the end of days.

Liu Xi’s Dou Di Body expanded to match the ten-thousand-zhang tree — his feet upon the earth, his head touching the heavens, his hands grasping the colossal trunk. Dou Qi whirled around him like a storm, each flowing current containing power capable of annihilating a Half Saint with a single touch.

”Rise!”

With a final roar, Liu Xi pulled the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree from the earth. The roots retracted, and the tree — though enormous — now floated freely in the air, as light as a leaf in his grasp.

A vast abyss yawned below where the tree once stood, but even that wound began to close under the weight of the shifting earth.

”Hahaha!”

Liu Xi’s laughter echoed through the heavens, shaking space itself. The sound rolled across the world like thunder — a Dou Di’s laughter, mighty enough to shatter saints into dust.
