BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Within the heart of the stone statue—

Above the magma that radiated terrifying fluctuations, Toushe Ancient Emperor sat cross-legged. After endless years of slumber, his gentle eyes—where countless flames flickered into nothingness—slowly opened. He studied Liu Xi repeatedly, a strange light flickering in his gaze as his calm voice carried a faint sense of wonder.

”You are strange—both human and Heavenly Flame. Such a peculiar existence… actually appeared in this world.”

Under that penetrating gaze, Liu Xi felt as if his soul had been laid bare. The figure before him—Toushe Ancient Emperor, or rather, a trace of his consciousness left behind—possessed power unfathomable even to him. Yet Liu Xi remained composed. Since arriving, the Azure Lotus within his spiritual sea had been trembling with eagerness, resonating with the call of the Emperor’s Origin.

Both were born of Heavenly Flame essence—Liu Xi held a connection equal to Toushe Ancient Emperor’s own. Even if the latter’s remnant thought refused to grant him the inheritance, Liu Xi could seize it by force… though that path would be troublesome and perilous.

”Existence itself is reason enough. My presence means Heaven has allowed me this chance. Since I’ve come, will the Ancient Emperor grant me this Origin?”

He bowed slightly—a rare act of respect from one who stood at the summit of the Dou Qi Continent, honoring its final Dou Di.

”Yes.”

Toushe Ancient Emperor nodded calmly. He existed precisely for this purpose—those who held the Ancient Jade were destined to enter his cave. To reach this place meant the Emperor’s acknowledgement had already been earned.

”Your existence differs from mine, yet your potential is undiminished. You now possess the qualifications to become the Emperor of Ten Thousand Flames. Come forward! The breakthrough to Dou Di is no simple feat. I spent a thousand years to achieve it. If I could, so can you. Remember this—’If the heart does not die, the body shall not perish.’”

Liu Xi gave him a peculiar glance. The Ancient Emperor was too agreeable, which made him wary—but with the Emperor’s Origin before him, retreat was impossible.

Stepping onto the five-colored magma, he felt a tremor from his soul. Kneeling, he dipped his fingers into the molten flow. Warmth spread through his spirit, bringing an almost blissful comfort that drew a low groan from his throat.

Without hesitation, Liu Xi sat cross-legged above the magma, forming a cultivation seal. His body slowly sank into the radiant sea below.

A deafening boom resounded as the magma surged like waves. Terrifying energy rippled through every corner of the space—energy so pure that even a Dou Saint would be instantly devoured upon contact.

Centered around Liu Xi, the magma began to rotate, forming a vast vortex that drew boundless Origin Qi toward him. His long-stagnant cultivation—since reaching the Half-Step Dou Di realm—finally began to rise again. Though the progress was gradual, it was steady, unending.

As time passed, the flood of power grew uncontrollable. His body and soul swelled to their limits, overflowing with energy faster than he could refine it.

’Not good!’

The thought flashed through his mind—his body felt as though it might explode. Like a bucket already brimming with water, yet more was being poured in. There was no space left to contain it.

His physical form, once indestructible, began to expand—becoming a giant several zhang tall, stretched to its breaking point. Yet the endless flow of Origin Qi still poured in. Compared to a true Dou Di, even a Half-Step Dou Di was but a candle before the sun.

”This won’t do… I must let go. ’If the heart does not die, the body shall not perish.’ The power of a Dou Di cannot be borne by mortal flesh.”

With that realization, Liu Xi released control of his body, preserving only his true spirit—his eternal self.

The next instant, his body was consumed by the boundless power. Azure flames erupted, engulfing everything. His form dissolved completely, leaving behind a single Azure Lotus rooted deep within the magma. It shimmered with a serene brilliance, crystalline and divine, exuding the artistry of heaven and earth.

The five-colored magma streamed into the lotus, weaving luminous veins through its petals. The once-pure lotus now shimmered with fivefold radiance, as if nurturing divinity itself.

Above, Toushe Ancient Emperor’s expression turned oddly amused. The little fellow below had given him yet another surprise.

”Interesting… how far will you go, I wonder? Well, it no longer concerns me. I am finally free.”

As the magma’s energy poured into the lotus, the Ancient Emperor’s form began to fade—his body turning more translucent with each passing breath. His eyes softened with relief. This fragment of his will had lingered too long; at last, oblivion promised release.

...

Liu Xi did not know how much time passed—only that his strength grew ceaselessly, pushing against an unseen barrier until, at last, he shattered through it.

Within the statue’s heart, the once-abundant Origin Qi had vanished entirely, and Toushe Ancient Emperor’s will with it. The last trace of that ancient power dissipated into nothingness.

Now, only the Azure Lotus remained—rooted in the void, veined with five-colored light. With each gentle sway, the surrounding space trembled and crumbled, unable to withstand the Emperor’s might.

Across every corner of the world, the pressure of a supreme power spread—so vast that even dust bowed before it.

In the Northwest Region, within the Liu Clan estate of the Jia Ma Imperial Capital, Liu Xi’s parents sat in quiet peace beneath the sunlight—until boundless strength surged from their bloodlines. In the distant Magical Beast Mountain Range, Liu Cheng froze mid-battle, overcome by the same awakening power.

Liu Xi’s Father ascended to 5-Star Dou Saint.

Liu Xi’s Mother to 4-Star Dou Saint.

Liu Cheng leapt to 6-Star Dou Saint—one step from the High Level Dou Saint.

The sacred aura enveloped the entire empire; mortals gazed skyward in awe, convinced they beheld a god.

In Jia Nan Academy—Now relocated to Central Plains with the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe’s aid—A wave of unimaginable might erupted from beneath the magma of the Black-Corner Region, shaking heaven and earth.

In that instant, every living being in the region fell to their knees, unable to withstand the overwhelming force.

High above Jia Nan Academy, clouds twisted into a colossal Azure Lotus, stretching for ten thousand zhang. From it echoed a voice that resounded through every corner of the Dou Qi Continent:

”I, Liu Xi, have cultivated for over forty years, and today, I ascend to the realm of Dou Di! From this day forth, I shall bear the title of Azure Lotus Emperor! Let heaven and earth bear witness!”

His majestic voice thundered across the world, filling every heart with reverent awe. After ten thousand years of silence—when all believed the Dou Di to be but a myth—another Emperor had risen.

The name Liu Xi, etched into countless souls, would now be eternal.

The Azure Lotus Emperor—Liu Xi!

Above the clouds, Liu Xi stood robed in azure, hands clasped behind his back, his handsome face calm yet tinged with solitude.

”To be invincible… is truly lonely. The Great Thousand World awaits—but before I leave, there are still matters to settle.”
