BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

After Hun Tiandi’s appearance, the power of the Devouring Spirit Eliminating Life Formation surged to its peak. The blood-red radiance it released grew increasingly sinister, casting a horrific glow over the battlefield. Under that dreadful light, one warrior after another from the three clans exploded into clouds of blood mist, their bodies vaporized as the essence within their blood was absorbed into the formation—further reinforcing the crimson barrier that trapped all survivors inside. They could only watch in despair as their comrades turned into scarlet fog before their eyes.

Terror spread rapidly through the coalition ranks. The barrier was so strong that even Gu Yuan could not break through it in a short time. His eyes were bloodshot, his heart filled with remorse—his decisions had led what remained of the three ancient clans straight to a dead end. But who could have foreseen that Hun Tiandi would resort to such madness?

”All High-Level Dou Saints, follow me! Hun Tiandi, within the blood sea, is the formation’s core. Only by killing him can we destroy this array—otherwise, we’ll all become fuel for his recovery!”

As Gu Yuan’s shout resounded, the space around him trembled. His robes fluttered wildly as rings of energy rippled outward, and in the next instant, his figure shot into the sky.

Gu Lie’s expression hardened, death already reflected in his eyes. He followed closely behind his clan leader—the only one capable of standing alongside a 9-Star Dou Saint. From the Lei Clan and Yan Clan, Lei Jie and Huo Ling exchanged a grave look and rose as one. They were their tribes’ final High-Level Dou Saints, and even if it meant facing certain death, they would not stand idle while their people perished.

The Three Gu Immortals joined the charge. Failure to slay Hun Tiandi meant total annihilation for everyone within the formation.

Within the blood sea, the almost-mummified Hun Tiandi slowly rose to his feet. His hollow eyes fixed upon Gu Yuan and the others approaching from above, and his burned lips twisted into a ghastly grin.

”Kill me? What a delusion. That damned Liu Xi nearly burned me to ashes, forcing me to awaken the Blood Sea ahead of time—but because of it, I’ve surpassed even my former self. A thousand years ago, even Xiao Xuan was no more than this before me.”

”Ancient Emperor Shattering Finger!”

Gu Yuan’s voice was ice-cold, his expression calm. Whatever Hun Tiandi had become, one fact was clear—if Hun Tiandi didn’t die today, then they would. This was a battle between life and death.

”Great Annihilation Finger!”

The immense pressure from the blood sea made Gu Lie’s skin crawl. Though he was only an 8-Star Dou Saint, he steadied his mind and unleashed his Tian Class Dou Technique with everything he had.

”Bloody Evil Sky Demon Palm!”

Hun Tiandi’s voice roared through the void. The blood sea roiled, and from the surging waves rose a colossal scarlet palm, over a thousand feet across, to meet the descending finger strikes head-on.

Boom!

Space shattered as the clash erupted. Violent shockwaves ripped through the air, carving pitch-black scars in the void itself.

Behind them, Huo Ling, Lei Jie, and the Three Gu Immortals narrowly evaded the aftershocks. Just witnessing the residual energy made their faces pale—it was enough to cripple a 7-Star Dou Saint outright.

But there was no retreat. Gritting their teeth, they charged back into the fray.

One 9-Star Dou Saint, one 8-Star Dou Saint, and five 7-Star Dou Saints fought Hun Tiandi above the endless blood sea. Though they outnumbered him, Hun Tiandi showed no fear. Instead, he grew stronger with every passing breath. The sea of blood below continually surged with power, feeding him through the formation.

Each death below sent more essence into the Devouring Spirit Eliminating Life Formation, and Hun Tiandi’s body began to regenerate. Mangled flesh pulsed, growing new tissue; his veins filled with flowing blood once more, and even his heart began to beat again—thump, thump—deep and heavy like a war drum.

”It’s useless!” Hun Tiandi’s laughter grew manic. ”The moment you entered my formation, your fates were sealed!”

Each strike from him now drew upon the might of the entire blood sea, his palm waves vast enough to crush mountains, his aura expanding until even Gu Yuan felt the weight of despair pressing upon his chest.

”Blood Demon Heart-Devouring Lightning!”

Boom!

Thunder flared crimson in his palm, and across the blood sea, enormous serpents of blood-colored lightning slithered into existence. It was neither Black Demon Lightning nor Nine Mysterious Golden Lightning, but something more sinister—a lightning of blood and death. It carried a suffocating scent of iron and decay that made every soul tremble.

The storm of blood thunder engulfed the sky. Even Gu Yuan’s heart pounded in dread.

One after another, the heroes fell. Huo Ling, the last High-Level Dou Saint of the Yan Clan, screamed as her body was scorched black, her elegant form reduced to charred ruin before she fell into the blood sea. The terror on her beautiful face was mixed with faint relief as the waves swallowed her whole.

Then Lei Jie followed. The old thunder warrior, fierce to his last breath, was crushed beneath Hun Tiandi’s power.

Soon after, the Three Gu Immortals perished as well. Even together, they were no match for the peak of a 9-Star Dou Saint like Hun Tiandi.

Gu Yuan’s vision blurred with rage. Huo Ling and Lei Jie’s deaths had not broken his resolve—but losing the Three Gu Immortals tore through his soul. Hun Tiandi was becoming stronger by the second.

Gu Lie glanced at his weary clan leader, then at the ever-strengthening monster before them. If nothing changed soon, he would be next. Determination flashed in his eyes.

”Clan Leader... take our people and live.”

Leaving only those words, he charged forward, his body bursting with uncontrollable power.

Self-detonation. It was the only way left to harm Hun Tiandi.

But the monster was far from finished. As the blood sea roared, he raised a single hand, weaving seals with his fingers and sneering.

”Blood Sea Tsunami!”

A tidal wave thousands of feet tall surged upward, swallowing Gu Lie whole. His body vanished within the crimson flood—and his explosion never came. His life ended quietly, erased without a trace.

”Hun Ti—!”

Gu Yuan’s roar was cut short. A bloody silhouette appeared behind him, moving faster than thought. A single strike pierced through his abdomen, shattering his Dou Qi core.

Hun Tiandi’s crimson eyes gleamed with madness as he lifted Gu Yuan effortlessly. ”Do you feel it now, Gu Yuan? The gulf between us? With your strength, I will stabilize my new realm.”

As his Dou Qi drained away, Gu Yuan’s strength collapsed. His body fell helplessly into the blood sea, cold darkness swallowing him whole.

’So this is how it ends... laughable, to die here.’ His final thought faded into silence.

Above, Hun Tiandi had slaughtered the last of the three clans’ elites. Below, the Devouring Spirit Eliminating Life Formation devoured the armies in full. All blood and essence flowed back into the boundless sea.

Sitting cross-legged atop the ocean of blood, Hun Tiandi drew in the energy, consolidating his realm. His strength now rivaled that of the legendary Xiao Xuan himself. A twisted smile crept across his face—but the moment he thought of Liu Xi, his features contorted in fury.

”Liu Xi!” he roared.

A calm, amused voice drifted from beyond the heavens.

”You called for me?”

Hun Tiandi’s head snapped up. Through the rippling void descended a figure in azure robes—Liu Xi. His gaze was cool, his tone filled with faint pity.

”How pitiful,” Liu Xi said softly. ”You drained the bloodlines of your own people just to cling to life, devoured every last drop of your kin’s power to recover... and for what? Tell me, Hun Tiandi—are you still yourself, or just a bloodthirsty monster wearing his skin?”
