BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

”Hahahahaha! Hahahahahaha!”

Hun Huzi burst into laughter, the sound echoing wildly. His joy was like drinking chilled plum wine in the height of summer—refreshing from the inside out.

The descendant of Xiao Xuan, the one who had nearly destroyed the Hun Clan back then, was now trampled beneath his foot—begging for mercy!

”Since you’ve begged, I can’t be too heartless now, can I? In that case, I’ll tell you!”

Hun Huzi spoke theatrically, his foot pressing harder on Xiao Yan’s chest as his voice took on a strange, mocking tone.

”Your father... once we confirmed he had no Ancient Jade—and that you’d lost yours as well—he became worthless, just like you.”

”So we killed him on the spot. Fed his corpse to the wolves, and his soul wasn’t wasted either—it was refined into Soul Essence to strengthen Lord Void’s Spiritual Power...”

”Ahhh!”

As Hun Huzi’s casual words painted Xiao Zhan’s gruesome fate, Xiao Yan’s heart twisted in agony. He had been clinging to hope, believing he could still rescue his father—yet his father had already been slain long ago.

Pain ignited his bloodline. The blood within his veins surged madly, and the hidden power of his lineage erupted uncontrollably. Golden markings faintly surfaced between his brows—the symbol of the Xiao Clan.

A torrent of power coursed through his body, his aura swelling to the point it rivaled an Initial Half Saint. Terrifying energy surged endlessly within him.

The ground cracked. Space trembled.

His injuries rapidly mended under the awakening of his bloodline’s mysterious force, pushing him to a state of unprecedented strength.

In this moment, Xiao Yan believed he could kill Hun Huzi.

”Old dog! I’ll kill you—”

Before his roar finished, there was a thunderous boom!

Hun Huzi stomped down heavily. 7-Star Dou Saint Dou Qi exploded from him, vast as a mountain, torrential as a flood. Even in his bloodline eruption, Xiao Yan’s body was crushed outright—bones shattered, flesh mangled beyond recognition.

”Tsk, tsk... to even awaken the Xiao Clan’s bloodline pattern. That makes you even less fit to live. Your soul, too, must not go to waste...”

”Who’s there?! Come out!”

His mocking tone turned cold and murderous in an instant as he shouted sharply into the void.

Liu Xi stepped out slowly. His expression was unreadable, tinged with faint emotion—as though sighing. Even after his bloodline erupted, Xiao Yan had still been effortlessly killed by Hun Huzi.

Xiao Yan... was dead.

”Someone from the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe?”

Hun Huzi’s killing intent faded slightly. He had seen Liu Xi before—on the high platform beside that Late 8-Star Dou Saint of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe.

Because of that memory, Hun Huzi restrained himself. An 8-Star Dou Saint was no trivial figure; even though the Hun Clan currently held the advantage, such a powerhouse could easily turn the tide.

’Once the Yan Clan, Lei Clan, Yao Clan, and Gu Clan are wiped out, the next to fall will be the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe,’ he thought coldly, though his face broke into a false smile that looked almost friendly.

”So it’s the young friend from the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe! This one is a remnant of the Xiao Clan—a wanted criminal of our Hun Clan. Once we finish exterminating the Lei, Yan, and Medicine Clans, we’ll share a drink to celebrate—”

Before he could finish, Hun Huzi’s eyes widened in disbelief. He looked down at Liu Xi, his gaze filled with confusion and shock.

A slender hand had pierced clean through his chest, emerging from his back.

While Hun Huzi was still speaking, Liu Xi had moved with lightning speed, thrusting his hand forward like a blade that drove straight through the Dou Saint’s heart.

Hun Huzi’s greatest mistake—was underestimating Liu Xi.

He thought Liu Xi was merely a 2-Star Dou Saint, when in truth, Liu Xi was a Mid 8-Star Dou Saint—an insurmountable difference.

With the Void Devouring Flame and countless other Hun Clan powerhouses nearby, Liu Xi didn’t wish to cause a scene. Thus, he chose a near-silent, lethal strike.

The result was devastatingly perfect. Liu Xi felt his hand pierce the beating heart as terrifying azure flames erupted from within—flames far hotter than molten magma, spreading rapidly through blood and flesh.

The rare fusion of Heavenly Flames within him was unmatched. Aside from the Toushe Ancient Emperor, no one possessed as many Heavenly Flames as Liu Xi. It was fire capable of erasing everything.

Hun Huzi’s body was devoured by the azure flames—his flesh, his soul, even the sub-flame of the Void Devouring Flame within him—purified completely by the Flame’s divine cleansing power.

Liu Xi slowly withdrew his hand. Hun Huzi had already turned to ash. Between his fingers, a few Storage Rings glittered faintly—Hun Huzi’s treasures, gathered over centuries, including a 9th Tier Mysterious Pill.

The Hun Clan’s foremost Alchemist—and perhaps the entire continent’s new top Alchemist—had perished silently in Liu Xi’s hands.

Reabsorbing the azure flames into his body, Liu Xi raised a brow as pure energy flowed back to him.

Hun Huzi, a 7-Star Dou Saint, contained an immense amount of Dou Qi. Once purified, it became a considerable gain.

Liu Xi silently circulated his Qi Method. After one full cycle, the energy had already been refined into pure Dou Qi without effort.

He then opened the Storage Ring. With its owner dead, the ring’s weak soul seal was meaningless before his Emperor Realm Spiritual Power.

A quick search revealed countless techniques, Dou Techniques, herbs, and pills. He found the 9th Tier Mysterious Pill and took it out.

”The quality can’t compare to the Lightning Calamity Pill, but for a 9th Tier Mysterious Pill, it’s still excellent.”

A faint smile crossed his lips as he stored it away. Though such a pill was of limited use to him now, it remained valuable.

Glancing at Yao Chen’s floating soul and then at Xiao Yan’s mangled corpse, Liu Xi’s smile vanished. His face turned expressionless as he waved his sleeve, and azure flames surged forth.

Both Yao Chen’s soul and Xiao Yan’s body were engulfed instantly, burned to absolute nothingness.

A gust of cold wind swept by, stirring Liu Xi’s robe and the flickering azure fire—yet when it faded, not even ash remained. No trace of their souls lingered.

The teacher and student vanished completely from the Dou Qi Continent.

Moments later, Liu Xi was gone. The azure flame dissipated as if it had never existed.

Hun Huzi, the 7-Star Dou Saint and top Alchemist of the Hun Clan, had fallen here. Someone would surely come to investigate soon.

But Liu Xi had already departed. The 9th Tier Mysterious Pill in hand was a pleasant bonus—but his true targets were the Void Devouring Flame and the other Heavenly Flames.

It was time to prepare.

The Void Devouring Flame, Life Spirit Flame, Nine Serene Wind Flame, Nine Serene Golden Ancestor Flame, Fire Mountain Rock Flame—Liu Xi intended to claim them all, and then obtain the Nine Dragon Lightning Flame.

When he had gathered all twenty-two Heavenly Flames and their origins, his foundation would be complete—and he would no longer need to fear anyone.

Moments later, several black-robed figures arrived at the site of Hun Huzi’s death. After inspecting the area, one of them trembled and whispered,

”Lord Hun Huzi... is dead.”
