BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

The Yellow Spring Demon Saint moved without hesitation. His hands flashed in a blur, forming a mysterious seal before pressing it to his lips. Instantly, a dreadful fluctuation rippled through the space.

Wherever that wave passed, the very fabric of space trembled as if unable to withstand the immense power, ready to shatter at any moment.

”Yellow Spring Divine Anger...”

Even Liu Xi, merely sensing that terrifying fluctuation, felt his heart jolt violently. His usually impassive face grew solemn.

A battle between souls was far deadlier than a clash of Dou Qi—one mistake could shatter the soul entirely. And when the soul collapsed, life itself vanished completely, body and spirit erased from existence.

Of course, that only applied to ordinary people. Liu Xi was different. His main body remained outside; his consciousness intact. His manifested soul was merely an extension of himself—if it were destroyed, he could refine another one.

Still, the loss of time and Spiritual Power would be real. He had no intention of letting it come to that.

And at that moment, even he could feel danger—true danger—from the Yellow Spring Divine Anger unleashed by the Demon Saint’s remnant soul.

So this was the move that made countless Dou Saints pale in terror—it was no exaggeration at all.

The entire space convulsed violently. Around the remnant soul of the Yellow Spring Demon Saint, ripples appeared, gathering and merging into a colossal, formless figure—towering a thousand zhang high. Looking closely, Liu Xi realized that it was identical to the Demon Saint’s image itself.

Yet even before that phantom form, Liu Xi felt as though he stood before the entire world.

”So this... is the Demon Saint’s true form.”

Even now, Liu Xi’s expression remained calm. He had long severed his emotional bindings—he acted according to one principle alone: to survive, and to become stronger.

Winds roared as ripples surged. Liu Xi raised his sleeve to shield his face, his gaze steady upon that titanic, ancient figure. His thoughts spun rapidly—analyzing, deducing, calculating every move to avoid falling into disadvantage.

The Demon Saint’s colossal body slowly lowered its head. Its indifferent eyes locked onto Liu Xi. Then its mouth opened, releasing an ancient syllable—its sound like thunder erupting through clouds, tearing the heavens apart.

”Mou!”

The instant the word was spoken, the phantom body of the Demon Saint disintegrated—along with the surrounding space.

Liu Xi watched as the world itself fractured inch by inch beneath the wave of that sound. A devastating shockwave of pure sonic destruction surged forward, transcending the limits of space itself.

For the first time, Liu Xi faced an attack powerful enough to annihilate even his soul form. The pressure was unimaginable—his Spiritual Body could truly collapse under it.

’If I fight head-on using Fire Spirit Manifestation, I can block it... but the soul damage will be immense. No, not worth it.’

The attack came too fast for hesitation.

In a flash of instinct, Liu Xi made his decision. This wasn’t a duel of pride—he only needed to survive the Yellow Spring Divine Anger, nothing more.

”Tree—Come!”

The words rang through the void, cold and unwavering, echoing with unshakable will.

A radiant light erupted. In an instant, a sacred, timeworn aura swept through the collapsing realm. The smell of eternity filled the air as a vast, ancient silhouette descended—rooted into the very void.

The soundwave raged across space like a storm, obliterating everything it touched. All things within reach were reduced to nothingness, swallowed by endless darkness.

Only one thing remained.

A solitary temple stood within that void. Upon its throne, the Yellow Spring Demon Saint sat heavily down again. His already translucent form had become even fainter—clearly, the earlier attack had consumed nearly all his remaining strength.

Lifting his gaze toward the vast black emptiness, he murmured with a sigh, ”Another genius... fallen beneath Yellow Spring Divine Anger. Truly, life is lonely as snow.”

A calm voice replied from the darkness—Liu Xi’s voice.

”Not bad. The famed Yellow Spring Divine Anger... even a mere wisp of your remnant soul can wield such might. If your true body unleashed it back then, it truly could have destroyed the heavens themselves.”

As his words echoed, the darkness faded. A towering, translucent tree shimmered into view—its branches radiating streams of pure light, its roots buried in the void. The endless soundwave had been completely halted by the tranquil aura it emitted.

Encased within that divine light, Liu Xi stood unscathed.

The Yellow Spring Demon Saint’s jaw nearly dropped. Pointing a trembling finger, he stammered, ”You... how did you summon the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree?! That thing is utterly abominable! Even I once caught a glimpse of it from afar and sensed a will within it—one that chilled even me to the bone!”

Liu Xi coughed lightly, his tone casual. ”That’s a secret. In any case, I blocked your Yellow Spring Divine Anger. I suppose that means I’m qualified to inherit your legacy and your blood essence now, doesn’t it?”

Even the Yellow Spring Demon Saint could only sigh. Ever since the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree appeared, this youth’s confidence had become unshakable. If he refused to pass the test now, Liu Xi might very well tear down the entire temple—along with his lingering soul.

”Fine. You’ve passed,” the Demon Saint said helplessly.

He gazed at Liu Xi thoughtfully. This young man’s talent was remarkable, his strength extraordinary, and with the protection of the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree behind him—perhaps he might one day uncover the missing path that even the Dou Di failed to find.

Perhaps... he could fulfill the wish that the Demon Saint himself never could.

”The day has finally come,” the Yellow Spring Demon Saint murmured, a faint smile of release appearing on his fading face. ”To be invincible in this world... truly is a lonely fate.”

Liu Xi stood silently beneath the ancient tree, his expression calm, eyes fixed upon the fading figure on the throne.

”You have withstood the Yellow Spring Divine Anger,” said the Demon Saint softly. ”Then what is owed to you shall be given.”

He raised his hand and flicked his finger. A pulse of Spiritual Power shot forth, stopping just outside the tree’s barrier.

Sensing its harmless nature, Liu Xi stepped beyond the protective aura and grasped the flicker of light. The instant it touched his hand, torrents of information poured into his mind.

In his consciousness, lines of ancient, glowing text appeared—complete techniques engraved with the aura of ages past.

When he opened his eyes again, a faint glimmer shone within them. He had obtained not only the cultivation method for Yellow Spring Divine Anger, but also those for Yellow Spring Finger and Yellow Spring Palm.

”Many thanks, Demon Saint.”

His voice remained calm—but his gaze lingered meaningfully on the fading spirit.

”And... the other thing?”

The meaning was crystal clear.
