BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

Liu Xi’s body didn’t change much—only a layer of scales covered his skin, and a pair of radiant wings unfurled from his back. But in that instant, his aura skyrocketed from an Initial Half Saint to a High Half Saint.

His blood boiled, his fighting spirit surged.

Ancient dragon shadows and heavenly phoenix flames coiled around him, forming a divine halo. His black pupils shimmered faintly with violet light, gleaming with a tyrannical and boundless killing intent.

With a flap of his wings, the space behind him shattered. His figure vanished, leaving behind only a blurred afterimage that streaked through the air faster than the eye could follow. Even the three Half Saints opposing him didn’t have time to react.

”Diel.”

The single word rasped from his throat, hoarse yet thunderous. The sound rippled through the air, sharp enough to pierce metal and split stone.

Boom!

A single punch tore through the void, space itself exploding with a deafening roar. The blow sent one of the Half Saints flying backward, his body twisting under the immense force.

The other two reacted, releasing torrents of Dou Qi sharp as blades that tore through the air, carving deep cracks into the surrounding space. They lunged forward simultaneously, clashing head-on with Liu Xi.

Bang! Bang!

The impact shook the heavens. Fierce gales erupted from the collision, sweeping outward in waves so violent that even the distant sky distorted.

Liu Xi grinned, his handsome face now overlaid with dragon scales, giving him a savage yet awe-inspiring beauty.

He twisted his wrists, seizing both opponents by their forearms. With a powerful sweep of his wings, he spun in midair three times, using centrifugal force to hurl them aside—one to the left, one to the right.

Then he blurred forward again, chasing the one on the left. With the Heavenly Phoenix Wings at full strength, his speed was terrifying; in the blink of an eye, he appeared before the puppet Half Saint.

The two collided in brutal close combat—pure, primal violence. Every punch and kick shook the heavens, each strike echoing with the might of mountains collapsing.

With the Ancient Void Dragon Body fortifying his flesh, Liu Xi’s defense had reached an absurd level. Every attack that landed on him dispersed across his scales, absorbed before it could inflict damage.

But his own punches struck true. Each blow shattered bone and stone alike. The puppet’s dried flesh cracked open, its lifeless body making no sound even as pieces fell away—long ago reduced to a mummified husk.

Two powerful auras suddenly surged behind him, rapidly approaching. Liu Xi’s eyes narrowed.

He took a heavy punch head-on—then countered, his own fist smashing into the puppet’s skull.

Crack!

The head burst like a melon, fragments scattering through the air. Without a head, the puppet’s movements froze completely.

The next moment, two streaks of Dou Qi slammed into the spot where Liu Xi had been, shattering the remains of the puppet into dust.

Turning back, Liu Xi smirked. He ripped away his tattered upper garment, revealing his muscular, scale-covered chest that glistened under the dim light.

”Well then... only two left.”

He extended a finger. A burst of azure flame spiraled forth, gathering Heaven and Earth energy until it condensed into a glowing sphere the size of a boulder.

”Heaven Burning Finger!”

The orb blazed with blinding light, radiating heat like the sun. Liu Xi hurled it forward—its target, another Half Saint puppet.

The puppet, either fearless or foolish, tried to block with its body. The result was instant annihilation—it was dragged along by the blazing sphere and slammed violently into the ground below.

Liu Xi turned toward the last remaining Half Saint. The puppet’s expression didn’t change, but its Dou Qi surged madly. Countless energy beams shot forth like falling stars, tearing through the air toward him.

The wings on his back moved with elegant precision. He weaved through the barrage effortlessly, every flap bursting with rippling light.

Then, folding his wings inward, he shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bowstring.

The puppet’s blank face filled his vision. Liu Xi’s fist clenched, Dou Qi coiling tightly around it.

Boom!

The puppet raised its arms to defend, a shimmering shield of Dou Qi flashing into existence. It lasted less than a heartbeat before shattering.

Crack!

The puppet’s arms broke under the pressure, its body flung away like a kite with a cut string. Liu Xi staggered slightly from the recoil, the scales on his body creaking but holding firm, dispersing the impact harmlessly.

’Heh, I really have to thank Zi Yan for this. Without her help, this battle wouldn’t have gone nearly so smoothly. This Ancient Dragon Battle Armor is incredible.’

He ran a clawed hand over his scales, admiring the near-indestructible surface.

In short—soft rice truly is delicious.

”But maintaining this form burns through Dou Qi far too quickly. I’d better finish this fast.”

With another surge of speed, Liu Xi reappeared before the battered puppet. He spun midair, building up momentum, and slammed his leg forward in a savage kick.

The puppet met it with a desperate punch—only for its arm to snap cleanly in half.

”Proving once again,” Liu Xi murmured with a grin, ”the leg beats the arm.”

His next kick struck like a thunderbolt. Boom! The puppet’s body exploded into fragments, scattering like sand.

The second Half Saint puppet—destroyed.

Scanning the battlefield with his Spiritual Power, Liu Xi sensed movement. The third puppet—the one blasted away by the Heaven Burning Finger—was still barely intact, its body smoking and cracked, trembling as it floated toward him.

”Allow me to end your suffering.”

Liu Xi extended his palm. Azure flames surged forth, swirling and condensing into a massive dragon of fire, every scale perfectly detailed.

Bang!

The flame dragon roared across the sky, colliding with the puppet in a brilliant explosion. Fire and light burst outward, scattering ash and embers across the battlefield. When the blaze faded, the final Half Saint puppet was gone.

”Whew...”

Liu Xi exhaled deeply. The battle had ended as swiftly as it began. Though he had emerged victorious, sustaining the Ancient Void Dragon Body and Heavenly Phoenix Wings consumed tremendous Dou Qi.

Not far away, amidst a storm of blood mist, Qing Lin finished her own battle. The puppet she fought—though strong—could not match her strength.

When Liu Xi turned, he saw her crimson hair flowing, her emerald eyes gleaming with satisfaction. She smiled at him, radiant and dangerous, like a blood-soaked rose in bloom.

Elsewhere, the Heaven Demon Puppet fought relentlessly against the enemy. They knew neither pain nor fear, but its steel body—once belonging to a mighty Ancient Void Dragon—was unyielding.

Each of its blows shattered the enemy piece by piece, until the puppet was reduced to dust.

At last, the battlefield fell silent.

The five Half Saint puppets that had guarded the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree—were all slain.
