BTTH: Rebirth of Liu Xi

In the boundless wilderness of the Ancient Wasteland Region, a deadly chase was unfolding.

The azure sky stretched endlessly above the wild mountain ranges.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

A series of sharp sonic booms spiraled through the forested air as several blurred streaks of light cut across the heavens like meteors, vanishing in an instant. Moments later, dozens more streaks followed, their surging Dou Qi spreading across the skies. At that moment, even the ferocious beasts hiding within the ancient forest dared not show themselves.

After all, the collective might of several dozen Dou Zuns was overwhelming—especially with Hun Yu, Jiu Feng, and Liu Cang leading the hunt. Even within the Ancient Wasteland Region, such a group could move unhindered.

Jiu Feng’s eyes burned crimson, and the Dou Qi around him roared like fire. A phantom of the Heaven Demon Phoenix circled his body, lending him terrifying speed as he pursued Xiao Yan with relentless fury.

All for a single Bodhisattva Seed—something that, under normal circumstances, wasn’t worth such madness. But after suffering catastrophic losses, Jiu Feng’s position within the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe was at stake. Without a meritorious deed, his status would crumble completely.

”Xiao Yan, hand over the Bodhisattva Seed and the method to communicate with the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree! Otherwise, this time next year will be your death anniversary!” Jiu Feng’s furious roar echoed through the skies as fire and wind entwined around him, pushing his speed to an even greater extreme.

Xiao Yan ignored the threat, his face grim as he fled at full speed. Behind him were dozens of Dou Zuns—if each struck him once, he’d be reduced to dust in an instant.

And worse still, he truly didn’t know how the Bodhisattva Seed had appeared in his hand. How was he supposed to convince anyone of that?

Beside him, Gu Xun’er flew gracefully, her slender form radiant like a blooming lotus—elegant and untouchable, a sight that stirred hearts even amidst chaos. She still held strength in reserve, yet remained at Xiao Yan’s side, refusing to abandon him. And truthfully, no one dared to touch her.

The Gu Clan’s Dou Saint was still watching from the heavens. Anyone foolish enough to harm the Gu Clan’s divine-blooded princess would face annihilation from a Dou Saint’s hand.

Thus, everyone’s target was solely Xiao Yan. The temptation of the Bodhisattva Seed was too great, and every pursuer carried the same misplaced confidence—

’If others can chase him, why can’t I? When the heavens fall, someone taller will take the blow!’

Yet fortune was cruel. The Gu Clan elites still maintained formation, their speed sharp and precise.

The two Dou Zuns from the Falling Star Pavilion who had accompanied Xiao Yan were far less fortunate. Their strength was modest—they had joined the Pavilion only for alchemical resources. As they fell behind, Hun Yu’s group rapidly closed in. Pleas, curses, and cries for help filled the air, only to be drowned by killing intent. In moments, both were swallowed by the crowd, their life force erased without a trace.

In the face of absolute power, even Dou Zuns were ants.

Gu Qingyang glanced toward Xiao Yan and Gu Xun’er from time to time, his face heavy with sorrow. The Gu Clan—once proud beyond measure—was now being hunted across the skies, humiliated at the hands of the Hun Clan and their allies.

And all this... because Xiao Yan refused to yield one Bodhisattva Seed.

’A single seed, and he’s willing to risk everything. A true madman,’ Gu Qingyang thought bitterly.

At the same time, Hun Yu’s eyes flickered with calculation. His mind raced, seeking a way to maximize his gains.

According to the agreement between clans, the Gu Clan and Xiao Clan were allies, and within the Gu Clan’s domain, the Hun Clan was forbidden from acting against Xiao Yan. This was why the Hall of Souls hadn’t directly destroyed the Falling Star Pavilion.

But now—Xiao Yan was before his eyes. And the one attacking was not the Hun Clan, but Jiu Feng of the Heaven Demon Phoenix Tribe.

A perfect loophole.

Even better, if he could capture Gu Xun’er and take her into the Soul Realm, it would force the Gu Clan into caution. After all, a divine bloodline was unimaginably precious—a miracle that might appear only once in centuries.

And Hun Yu coveted that bloodline—not out of lust, but ambition. The fusion of two divine bloodlines might propel him directly into the Dou Saint realm. That was his true goal.

With that thought, Hun Yu smiled faintly, flying high above with effortless grace as his voice rang across the skies:

”Brother Xiao Yan, why struggle? We only seek the Bodhisattva Seed. Stop running. Let’s talk openly. You’ve brought this on yourself!”

Liu Cang followed up immediately, his tone mocking and venomous.

”Didn’t you hear? We’re all here for the Seed. You’ve hogged it long enough. Stop and hand it over—we’re not heartless. Perhaps we’ll even let you live.”

’Who would believe that crap?’

Xiao Yan cursed inwardly, but the aura behind him was closing fast. The moment they caught up, he’d be finished.

”Xun’er, I’ve dragged you into this.” Xiao Yan turned to her, guilt heavy in his eyes, yet still filled with deep affection.

Gu Xun’er remained calm. On her body was a restriction—placed by a Dou Saint—ensuring that no one below that realm could harm her. However, it could only activate passively; she couldn’t trigger it at will.

Brushing her hair aside, she gave Xiao Yan a gentle smile. His earnestness always disarmed her.

”It’s all right. Brother Xiao Yan has done well already. You just need more time to grow stronger.” She turned her gaze toward Gu Qingyang. ”Brother Qingyang, when the time comes... help him escape, no matter what.”

Gu Qingyang’s eyes widened in disbelief. He hadn’t expected Gu Xun’er to make such a request. It was clear now—between him and Xiao Yan, she had already chosen.

He felt hollow. But defying her wasn’t an option.

”Yes... Qingyang obeys,” he said, bowing his head. His voice was strained, but he complied nonetheless.

In the Gu Clan, bloodline dictated hierarchy. And Gu Xun’er, born with divine blood and the purest lineage, stood at the pinnacle. To disobey her was to invite ruin—not only for himself but for his family.

Under Gu Qingyang’s command, the remaining young Dou Zuns of the Gu Clan charged forward, burning their lives to unleash devastating Dou Techniques to stall their pursuers.

They were all loyal to Gu Xun’er. Yet before they could ever reach their peak, they fell like nameless dogs on the roadside, dying without honor.

At last, Gu Qingyang stopped. His expression dulled, eyes weary, but his will was unwavering. He turned to face the pursuing forces alone.

”Great Annihilation Finger!”

A brilliant light erupted from his fingertip, tearing through the air toward the oncoming Dou Zuns.

Hun Yu smiled coldly. A flicker of killing intent crossed his eyes. Gu Xun’er couldn’t be touched—but Gu Qingyang? He could die a hundred times.

Hun Yu didn’t even bother to strike personally. The light of the Great Annihilation Finger was crushed instantly by the combined power of dozens of Dou Zuns.

Within seconds, they closed the distance. Under the crushing force of their Dou Qi, Gu Qingyang was grievously injured. No one dared to kill him outright—until Hun Yu raised a hand.

With a flick of his wrist, a beam of black light pierced through Gu Qingyang’s chest.

Just like that, the young peak Dou Zun—who once held hopes of stepping into the Dou Saint realm—fell lifeless to the ground.

Whether Gu Xun’er would grieve for him... no one knew.
