Ghost Catching System

The manager slapped the waiter’s head hard, his face contorted with anger. ”Have you lost your damn mind? Didn’t you hear him bidding? He’s a guest! Get the hell out of here!”

The waiter was dumbfounded. What the hell is going on? Is Chu Hao playing with me?

Once the bid reached ten billion, it seemed no one else would compete. The auctioneer finalized the deal with a bang of his gavel.

”Next item, also a First-Stage Curse Mark. Starting price, three billion,” the auctioneer announced.

A wealthy lady called out, ”Three billion five hundred million.”

A middle-aged man was about to bid when Chu Hao spoke again, ”Ten billion.”

The crowd erupted once more, completely stunned. Damn it, ten billion again!

”Sold!”

The auctioneer was thrilled. Two First-Stage Curse Marks had sold for a total of twenty billion. This would undoubtedly skyrocket his status in the auctioneering world.

The audience buzzed with restlessness. What’s Chu Hao’s background? Twenty billion for two First-Stage Curse Marks?

”Next up, a Second-Stage Curse Mark! Starting price, ten billion!” the auctioneer declared.

The crowd was instantly animated. The wealthy patrons were eager. They weren’t interested in First-Stage Curse Marks, but a Second-Stage Curse Mark was different. It was a rare sight at other auctions; for Long Chen Financial Group to auction one was remarkable.

With his Fiery Eyes and Golden Pupils, Chu Hao could tell at a glance that the Second-Stage Curse Mark was inferior, a flawed product. The Long Chen Financial Group really knows how to make money, he thought.

”Eleven billion.”

”Twelve billion.”

”Twelve billion five hundred million.”

The auction manager, glancing at Chu Hao on the periphery of the hall, wondered, Will he bid again? He looks familiar, but I can’t quite place him. After all, not everyone knew Chu Hao.

Chu Hao said calmly, ”Twenty billion.”

The manager was ecstatic. This guy is a goldmine! That damn waiter said he was here to cause trouble, nearly costing me a fortune! Right, I’m firing him later!

A foreign woman, blonde-haired and blue-eyed with a stunning figure and captivating allure, likely in her mid-twenties, glanced at Chu Hao. She smiled faintly and bid, ”Twenty-one billion.”

Chu Hao stated, ”Fifty billion.”

The blonde foreign woman was taken aback. Is that how you bid?

The manager was so overjoyed he nearly fainted.

The beautiful foreign woman gritted her teeth. ”Fifty-two billion.”

She stared at Chu Hao, thinking, This guy must be a shill hired by the auction house, deliberately inflating the price. He’s obviously trying to scam me!

Chu Hao said indifferently, ”One hundred billion.”

The entire room was in an uproar, completely shocked. One hundred billion for a Second-Stage Curse Mark? Is this man insane?

Angela was baffled. She bit her lip, her eyes sparkling. Let’s see how they handle this, she thought. He’s obviously a shill.

The manager, seeing the auctioneer frozen, anxiously urged him internally, Sold! Quickly, gavel it down!

The auctioneer snapped back to reality and struck his gavel. ”Sold!”

The manager hurried over. ”Honored guest, the two First-Stage Curse Marks and one Second-Stage Curse Mark will be delivered immediately. How would you like to pay?”

Chu Hao looked at him and waved his hand. ”Pay? Not happening.”

The manager paused, confused. What does he mean?

Chu Hao asked, ”How many more Curse Marks do you have here?”

The manager thought, This is definitely a big client. I have to fleece him properly! He replied, ”Fifteen First-Stage Curse Marks and four Second-Stage Curse Marks. These are all the auction house has available for auction, though some aren’t typically for sale. If you’re interested, sir, I can speak to the big boss.”

”Where’s your big boss?”

”The boss isn’t here,” the manager said.

Chu Hao waved his hand again. ”Show me all the Curse Marks.”

The manager hesitated. ”Well...”

”Is there a problem?” Chu Hao was ready to just take them. At worst, I’ll spend a little time finding the Curse Marks myself.

”Fine,” the manager said through gritted teeth.

Soon, Curse Mark after Curse Mark was brought out. The auctioneer smiled. ”Today, we have a very special guest, so our auction house has decided to add more Curse Marks to the auction. Let the bidding begin!”

The crowd was overjoyed. Those who didn’t get a Curse Mark earlier will definitely get one now!

The foreign woman, Angela, chuckled internally. That guy from before was definitely a shill, trying to scam me.

Just as everyone was getting excited to bid again, Chu Hao spoke, his voice clear enough for the entire hall to hear, ”No need to bother. Package them all for me. My bid is one trillion. If anyone raises the price, I’ll add another trillion on top of theirs.”

”DING! Host has succeeded in ultimate pretentiousness, earning 5,000 Pretentiousness Points.”

Everyone was stunned.

Angela was also dumbfounded. Isn’t this guy a shill? Are you addicted to playing the shill or something?

The manager’s mouth twitched. Am I dreaming? How much money is one trillion?

The auctioneer’s hands were trembling.

Basically, no one dared to compete with Chu Hao. One trillion? What a joke! Who here has that kind of money?

All the Curse Marks were brought for Chu Hao’s inspection. The manager’s face bloomed into a wide, obsequious smile. ”Esteemed guest, how would you like to make the payment? It doesn’t have to be cash. Our financial group can arrange transfers from corporate groups. Anything convertible to money is acceptable.”

Chu Hao waved his hand, and all the Curse Marks vanished into his System.

He looked at the manager. ”Payment? Not happening. I never planned to pay.”

The manager, hearing this, panicked. What does this tycoon mean?

Chu Hao glanced sideways at him. ”I’m puzzled. I came here to rob the place. Didn’t the waiter tell you earlier? I must say, your service quality here is terrible, worse than a foot massage parlor.”

F*CK ME! This guy is actually here to rob us?

The manager’s face turned grim. ”Are you looking for death? Do you know where you are? Believe it or not, I can make you disappear from the world in minutes!”

He pulled out a walkie-talkie and summoned a large group of men, who quickly surrounded Chu Hao.

The auction guests were all dumbfounded.

Angela also realized something was seriously wrong.

Chu Hao looked at the men surrounding him and smiled faintly. ”Anyone who wants to die can make a move.”

The men just looked at each other. Is this guy crazy?

Just then, a blond, muscular man burst into the auction hall, exclaiming, ”Uncle! Uncle, bad news!”

The manager frowned at his nephew. ”What is it?”

The blond, muscular man was the one who had previously tried to buy the bronze tripod for three thousand. He walked in, about to say Chu Hao had arrived, but then he saw Chu Hao staring at him coldly.

GOD DAMN IT!

The blond man froze.

Chu Hao looked at him. ”He’s your uncle? Didn’t you say your uncle wasn’t part of the Long Chen Financial Group?”

The blond man looked like he was about to cry, trembling as he stammered, ”I... I was just calling out randomly earlier. D-don’t take it seriously.”

The manager was furious. Has this nephew of mine been kicked in the head by a donkey? Calling me ’uncle’ randomly? Damn it, am I still your uncle or not?

The blond man finally snapped back to his senses and hurriedly said, ”He... he’s Chu Hao! He’s the Chu Hao who killed Long Shao!”
