Ghost Catching System

Something happened in the Underworld?

Someone swallowed hard and asked, ”Just what kind of background does the Golden Cicada have?”

Mei Luo, the noble ghost, narrowed his eyes and slowly uttered two words, ”Life Force.”

No one understood. Did the Golden Cicada give these Wandering Wild Ghosts Life Force, allowing them to survive in the Human World?

But these Wandering Wild Ghosts had changed too much.

As everyone knows, Wandering Wild Ghosts cannot reincarnate. They linger in the Human World seeking substitutes for death. Some linger because they missed the opportunity for reincarnation, while others do so because they harbor resentment and have become Fierce Ghosts, among other reasons.

But now, the Golden Cicada has brought about changes that make Ghosts as lively as humans. What’s going on?

Mei Luo, the noble ghost, spoke up, ”Who is willing to invest in the establishment of a Ghost Temple? You can enjoy a position in the Ghost Temple.”

Upon hearing this, the living all had strange looks on their faces.

”I am willing.”

A wealthy, middle-aged portly man stepped forward. He was a gold mine owner with ample money and was also very bold, deciding to work with a group of ghosts.

This area became very divine after the appearance of the Golden Cicada. Despite it being the autumn and winter seasons, when leaves should have already withered, the area was blooming all over the mountains. Establishing a Ghost Temple here would be geographically advantageous.

Mei Luo, the noble ghost, gave a faint smile and said, ”After the Divine Ghost Temple is opened, everyone can come here to burn incense and worship. The Ghost Temple will help everyone resolve their doubts and worries.”

Everyone was stunned. What did these ghosts want to do?

Burning incense and worshiping? Do they take themselves for some kind of holy temple?

The news spread quickly, causing a global shock, and foreigners were stunned. News reports blanketed the media, and soon almost everyone knew that in Huaxia Country, a group of ghosts had been transformed.

The internet went crazy with discussions about the Ghost Temple. These were Wandering Wild Ghosts, and now they were planning to open their doors, establish themselves, and invite people to burn incense and worship—it was unbelievable.

What exactly this group of Ghosts wanted to do, no one knew.

However, Chu Hao and the toad had some guesses.

The toad’s eyes widened as he said, ”These Ghosts have big ambitions; they want to establish themselves in the Human World, to become a Divine Deity?”

Chu Hao wore a strange expression and said, ”Becoming a Divine Deity in the Human World, that’s quite an ambition, but it’s very difficult.”

The toad said, ”Indeed, it’s difficult, but not impossible. Think about it: if all the dead went to the Ghost Temple, how powerful and terrifying would they become?”

Chu Hao’s expression changed.

The toad continued, ”Moreover, they are establishing the Ghost Temple and even allowing the living to worship. It’s clear they want to earn belief and become a Divine Deity themselves.”

Chu Hao was moved, slapped his thigh, and cursed, ”Damn! They’re trying to steal the rice bowl from my Ghost Academy.”

The toad was speechless.

The Ghost Academy and the Divine Ghost Temple are actually quite similar, but the strength of these Wandering Wild Ghosts is terrifyingly powerful and should not be underestimated. Guided by the Golden Cicada, they aim to establish themselves in the Human World.

Indeed, this matter alarmed the Ghost Principal. He sought out Chu Hao for a discussion about whether they should contact the Ghost Temple to find out what they intended to do.

Chu Hao shook his head. ”Although they want to steal our rice bowl,” he said, ”the Ghost Temple cannot send Ghosts for reincarnation—only I can. Given this advantage, they will have to approach Principal Luo Dong on their own initiative.”

Ghost Principal Luo Dong said, ”That’s what I was thinking, too.”

The establishment of the Ghost Temple caused a huge sensation. No one knew how many powerful ghosts were inside. Everyone initially thought they might harm humans and snatch substitutes for death, but the reality was vastly different and caught many by surprise.

Meanwhile, many people were searching for the whereabouts of the Golden Cicada. This Golden Cicada was so mystical that some suspected it to be the incarnation of a deity, descended to save the world.

Some even said that this Golden Cicada was the Golden Cicada Child, which was even more preposterous.

Chu Hao asked the toad if it knew the origin of the Golden Cicada. The toad hesitated for a moment but still said, ”Its name is Life Force.”

Unexpectedly, the toad knew as well. Chu Hao asked, ”Is it a ghost or a demon?”

The toad said, ”How should I put it? It belongs to an ethereal existence, much like Destiny and Death—a very eerie thing. It’s neither a ghost nor a demon, nor even human.”

Life Force, Destiny, Death.

The toad continued, ”Sounds ethereal, doesn’t it? But they are real. Especially Destiny—if you can grasp it, you can defy the heavens and change your fate.”

Grasp it?

As Chu Hao listened to the toad, it seemed even more unbelievable—this thing was alive!

The toad added, ”You’ve seen that Golden Cicada too. Mei Luo, the noble ghost, also said that it is Life Force.”

The toad said with concern, ”With the appearance of Life Force, it seems the revival of the Human World has accelerated. Sigh… Kiddo Chu, let’s attack Longhu Mountain, otherwise, it will be too late.”

Chu Hao pressed on, ”Too late for what? What will happen?”

The toad said, ”Rumor has it, when Life Force appears, Destiny will also emerge, and Death will follow. Death is even more terrifying than Destiny. It will bring a disastrous end to everyone.”

Finding it all so preposterous, Chu Hao said, ”What does that have to do with us attacking Longhu Mountain?”

The toad rolled its eyes. ”To enhance our strength and protect our lives!” it said. ”I don’t want to be targeted by Death; at the very least, I need the power to resist.”

Chu Hao stroked his chin. ”You make it sound so mystical,” he said. ”Have you experienced it?”

The toad said, ”I heard it from a senior. Don’t be a disbeliever. Only after experiencing the three eerie phenomena—Life Force, Destiny, and Death—will this Human World be integrated with the Outer Human World. Otherwise, the Outer Human World will not accept this place.”

It all sounded so vague. What on earth is this Life Force, and why would it enlighten these Wandering Wild Ghosts?

The toad said, ”In any case, if Life Force appears again, make sure to get there immediately. Otherwise, even if you aren’t targeted by Destiny, Death will ensure you meet a gruesome end.”

Chu Hao was somewhat speechless. ”You make it sound so mystical,” he said, ”like a fabricated story.”

The toad said, ”I didn’t believe it either, but after seeing the Golden Cicada, I’ve started to.”

Chu Hao waved his hand. ”Let it show up again,” he said. ”I’ll catch it.”

The toad said, ”If you can catch it, I’ll call you Grandpa.”

Chu Hao made a disgusted face. ”I don’t have a toad for a grandson,” he said. ”Don’t disgust me.”

The toad exploded in anger, ”Your granddad!”

Chu Hao was also quite curious about what sort of background this Golden Cicada had that it could enlighten a group of Wandering Wild Ghosts.

Shangu Imperial City did arrive, but it didn’t seek out Chu Hao right away. Instead, it went to the Ghost Temple, wanting to learn about the Golden Cicada.

Shangu Imperial City’s actions could not possibly go unnoticed by the Seventh District. This strong Yin Yang Master from Wo Country—what exactly was he planning to do?

It was said that on that day, a fierce battle broke out near the Ghost Temple, where Shangu Imperial City fought intensely against the three-headed, six-armed Luo Fu Ghost Noble.

This news garnered the attention of many, who also wanted to gauge the strength of those Wandering Wild Ghosts.

However, to everyone’s surprise, after Shangu Imperial City arrived, he arrogantly proclaimed he would enlighten this group of Fierce Ghosts.

As a result, he was attacked by a horde of vicious ghosts and left half-paralyzed.

It was rumored that Shangu Imperial City even used the Eight-foot Magatama. However, Mei Luo, the noble ghost, wielded something—a branch where the Golden Cicada had once rested—and with it, left Shangu Imperial City half-paralyzed. This was likely a sign that he couldn’t seek out Chu Hao anymore.
