Ghost Catching System

Everyone fell silent.

Chu Hao turned and walked onto the stage, where he picked up the Eight-foot Magatama.

”DING... Imitation Eight-foot Magatama can be exchanged for ten thousand Pretentiousness Points.”

Damn!

After all this fuss, it turned out to be an imitation. Chu Hao was very annoyed and exchanged it right away.

”DING... Host has exchanged the imitation Eight-foot Magatama for ten thousand Pretentiousness Points.”

The people from the Shangu Yin-Yang Clan panicked. ”That is our Divine Artifact!” one of them cried out.

Chu Hao said, ”This item is a trophy of war belonging to this Taoist Master. If you have any questions, you can check the life-and-death contract.”

The people from Wo Country despaired. Uehara Futoshi had died, and now they would have to watch the Divine Artifact, the Eight-foot Magatama, be taken away by the enemy—it was a great disgrace.

”Don’t panic, that’s just an imitation. The real Eight-foot Magatama is in the Master’s hands,” said a middle-aged man around fifty.

”Ah!” The people from Wo Country were shocked. All this time, it was just an imitation.

A reporter saw the fifty-year-old man and exclaimed in surprise, ”Tiemu Chun, a 13-star Yin-Yang Master from the Shangu Imperial City!”

Tiemu Chun, with a rank equal to Uehara Futoshi’s, was one of the chief disciples serving under the Shangu Imperial City.

Tiemu Chun’s expression was grim. He and Uehara Futoshi were good friends and fellow disciples from the same lineage. Now that his senior brother had been killed, he was furious.

Tiemu Chun looked at the Slit-mouthed Woman and said, ”After we return, the Master will punish you.”

The Slit-mouthed Woman became nervous.

Chu Hao said coldly, ”You dare threaten my subordinate?”

Tiemu Chun replied angrily, ”She is a Resentful Ghost subdued by our Master!”

Damn! Brother Hao’s mission isn’t even complete yet! Chu Hao was very annoyed and said, ”Slit-mouthed Woman, this Taoist Master will help you.”

The Slit-mouthed Woman hesitated, but in the end, she opened her mouth and spat out Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei was indeed still alive. The big, dark-skinned man looked confused, unaware of what had just happened.

The Slit-mouthed Woman said, ”Xiaochun is in the hands of the Shangu Imperial City. I want to rescue her.”

”Okay,” Chu Hao agreed.

Tiemu Chun left angrily with his people.

A cheer erupted from the crowd. Chu Hao had won, once again achieving a legendary feat.

Chu Hao approached the Slit-mouthed Woman and asked, ”Who is Xiaochun?”

The Slit-mouthed Woman said, ”My sister. She’s very kind. The Ancient Imperial City used her to threaten me.”

So that’s how it is. This Slit-mouthed Woman isn’t bad after all. Chu Hao grew curious and asked, ”I heard you often swallow people. What happened to them?”

The Slit-mouthed Woman shook her head. ”I let them all go. But the people I released were later captured. Someone wanted to study them to find a way to deal with me.”

The Slit-mouthed Woman continued, ”If you can rescue Xiaochun, I will follow you.”

”Okay.”

It looks like I’ll need to deal with the Shangu Imperial City to complete this mission. After rescuing Xiaochun, I should be able to subdue the Slit-mouthed Woman.

In the life-and-death battle on Beacon Tower Mountain, Chu Hao had won again, despite the enemy possessing the Eight-foot Magatama. Numerous news reports broadcast the event, celebrating Chu Hao’s myth-like achievement once more.

”Our brother is amazing, giving us people of Huaxia a real sense of pride!”

”Is Chu Hao still a 13-star Yin-Yang Master? I think he should be fourteen stars.”

Soon after, on the ranking list, Chu Hao’s star rating increased by one star—he was now a Fourteen Star Yin Yang Master.

How many Fourteen-star Yin-Yang Masters could there be on the ranking list? Such dazzling glory made countless young people look up to him, filled with admiration and envy.

Of course, many also suspected that the ranking list might be flawed. Chu Hao was obviously so powerful, so why was he initially ranked as only a ten-star Yin Yang Master?

Actually, the masters who compiled the ranking list were also speechless. They had indeed calculated Chu Hao as a ten-star Yin Yang Master. However, this person was too peculiar, bringing different surprises and abilities each time.

His strength, Yin-Yang techniques, and all sorts of extraordinary weapons were beyond imagination.

「Inside a hospital in the county town.」

Shangu Imperial City was confident Uehara Futoshi could take down Chu Hao. He believed that even if the Eight-foot Magatama was a replica, capturing Chu Hao was almost certain with the Slit-mouthed Woman’s help. He was waiting for news of victory.

Furthermore, Shangu Imperial City’s visit to Huaxia was not solely to target Chu Hao. He had another purpose for coming this time: to find the Divine Official Palace.

The Divine Official Palace, as recorded in the archives of Wo Country, was once a secret realm established by divine Deities in the Human World.

During the Zhou Dynasty, ghosts and evil demons roamed freely, causing untold suffering to the living.

A certain master suggested the establishment of the Divine Official Palace, inviting heavenly officials to guard over it, leading Divine Soldiers and Heavenly Generals to quell the chaotic evil demons and ghosts for the people.

This was not a myth; it was recorded in the chronicles of Wo Country. As a tributary state during the Zhou Dynasty, Wo Country had some understanding of its affairs and thus recorded them.

The Zhou Dynasty period, over three thousand years ago, was a time when a great many evil demons infested the Human World. If they hadn’t been quelled, the Human World would have been overrun by evil spirits and turned into a wilderness.

After quelling the evil demons and spirits, the Divine Official Palace, fearing their return, bestowed treasures in every province. These treasures, scattered far and wide, eventually fell into the hands of various people.

At that time, there was a monster called the Nine-Headed Serpent Monster. Its strength was terrifying; it had killed countless people and was incredibly brutal and savage.

Later, someone used a treasure bestowed by the Divine Official Palace to fight the Nine-Headed Serpent Monster. As a result, one of the serpent’s heads was cut off, leaving it with only eight heads.

To escape the pursuit of the Zhou Dynasty’s people, the Nine-Headed Serpent Monster fled all the way to Wo Country and continued its tyranny.

The Nine-Headed Serpent Monster thought that by fleeing to Wo Country, near the Zhou Dynasty, it could rest easy. However, someone named Suzano killed it while it was drunk and asleep.

After losing one head, the serpent proclaimed itself Yamata no Orochi in Wo Country.

And the Kusanagi Sword was dug out from the belly of the Yamata no Orochi.

Thus, the Kusanagi Sword was one of the treasures bestowed by the Divine Official Palace!

Very few people knew this secret. Shangu Imperial City himself had studied for a long time before realizing that the Kusanagi Sword was a treasure bestowed upon the Human World by the Divine Official Palace.

Shangu Imperial City was greatly shocked by this discovery. Consequently, for years, he had been searching for information about the Divine Official Palace, believing it to be in Huaxia Country.

Finally, he found some clues: the Divine Official Palace was located in the southwestern frontier of Huaxia Country—in other words, Tibet. The so-called Holy City there was very likely the Divine Official Palace itself.

Thus, the goal of Shangu Imperial City’s current visit to Huaxia Country was the Holy City of Tibet. He wanted to enter and search for treasures.

”After dealing with that kid, I’ll head to Tibet. I should be the only person who knows this secret,” Shangu Imperial City said with a slight smile.

He was already imagining himself entering the Holy City, taking one or two treasures, and then roaming freely in the Human World.

”Heh heh... At that time, all the famous Taoist mountains of Huaxia Country will be mine,” Shangu Imperial City declared.

Tiemu Chun and his group returned. Shangu Imperial City said indifferently, ”How did it go? Did you bring the person back?”

Tiemu Chun looked panicked. ”Master, Senior Brother... he’s dead.”

”What!”

Shangu Imperial City was enraged. How could Uehara Futoshi have died?

”With the replica Eight-foot Magatama and the Slit-mouthed Woman’s help, he still lost to that kid? Damn it all!” Shangu Imperial City roared.

The disciples dared not speak. Tiemu Chun trembled as he said, ”The Slit-mouthed Woman... she betrayed us.”
