Ghost Catching System

Chu Xionghuan sighed. Chu Hao truly was Wang Zai’s son. He had risen so quickly in such a short amount of time and was now already making a name for himself in the Human World. This was something they had never imagined.

Chu Hao suppressed the killing intent in his heart and said, ”Second Uncle, why did you stop me from killing Shangu Imperial City?”

That fellow, Shangu Imperial City... if I don’t kill him, he’ll kill me sooner or later, Chu Hao thought.

Chu Xionghuan said, ”We received information that Shangu Imperial City has a secret; he knows where the Divine Official Palace is. Aside from finding you, our goal in returning to the country was to find the Divine Official Palace.”

”What is the Divine Official Palace?”

After Chu Xionghuan explained, Chu Hao was astonished. The Divine Official Palace seemed incredibly mystical.

Chu Zhiyuan brought some late-night snacks and quite a lot of alcohol, cheerfully saying, ”Little Bro, we drink tonight, and we don’t stop until we’re drunk.”

Chu Hao laughed, and the three of them sat down together to drink and talk. The feeling was quite extraordinary; it was the first time he had met his relatives, and this was the scene. Of the Chu Family, only the three of them remained in the Human World.

All three had a good capacity for alcohol and nearly drank themselves into a stupor, only resting the next morning.

Chu Hao opened his eyes. These two really can hold their liquor, he thought. But in the end, I still got them both drunk. Chu Zhiyuan, so full of bravado at first, ended up throwing up eight times.

Then, what came into view was a toad. Seeing the toad so close, so warty and ugly, Chu Hao almost vomited out the alcohol he had drunk last night. He felt sick to his stomach and said, ”Get lost, you damn toad! Just looking at you makes me want to throw up.”

The toad’s face darkened. How the hell is this my fault? it fumed internally. The toad was very annoyed. Today, it wore a pair of floral underpants and stood like a human, looking utterly peculiar. The more one looked at it, the more it reminded them of the Toad Spirit from the Calabash Brothers. The toad then said, ”Kiddo Chu, I hear you’re looking for the Divine Official Palace?”

Chu Hao was surprised and looked up, asking, ”You know about it?”

The toad boasted, ”My reach is everywhere; nothing can be hidden from me. The Divine Official Palace isn’t easy to get to. You’ll need me to lead the way.”

Chu Hao curled his lip and said, ”You make it sound like you’re very familiar with the Divine Official Palace.”

Gazing out the window, the toad seemed to ponder the vast expanse of the world and its deep vicissitudes, then sighed and said, ”You common mortals can never comprehend the horrors of the Divine Official Palace. To tell you the truth, I came from there.”

Chu Hao hesitated for a while, then said, ”Stop kidding around. You’re a Toad Spirit that popped out of a stone.”

The toad grew irate and said, ”What do you know? I indeed came from the Divine Official Palace, and there’s something inside it that I desperately need.”

”Then why don’t you go find it?”

The toad said with embarrassment, ”Well, I can’t find the Divine Official Palace, can I? I heard that Shangu Imperial City knows where it is, so hurry up and capture him to ask.”

Chu Hao was baffled. What exactly has this toad heard? he wondered cautiously, ”What did you hear last night?”

The toad chuckled and said, ”Heard everything. Kiddo, your life really is tragic. Living off scraps, competing with rats for food, those miserable memories—King Qin Guang must have raised you like a dog.”

”Damn you!” Chu Hao was seething with anger and punched the toad right in the eye.

The toad screamed miserably, covering its eye, and bellowed, ”Kiddo Chu, what the hell was that for?!”

Chu Hao was seething with fury. Those past tragic experiences, all just a fabrication of memory, had truly tormented him. He said, ”I was just irritated and felt like hitting you.”

The toad wasn’t the type to take bullying lying down. It leaped at Chu Hao with a toad kick, sending him flying into the wall.

The skirmish between the man and the toad alerted others. Chu Xionghuan and Chu Zhiyuan both arrived. Chu Zhiyuan widened his eyes in surprise, saying, ”Where did this Toad Spirit come from?”

Separated from Chu Hao, the toad was bruised and swollen. It was so angry it couldn’t stand it, having been beaten up early in the morning. It cursed at Chu Zhiyuan, ”You’re the Toad Spirit! Your whole family are Toad Spirits!”

Chu Zhiyuan burst into rage on the spot, charging forward and shouting angrily, ”Toad Spirit, you dare touch my little brother?”

The toad got angry as well, saying, ”Damn, do you really think I can’t beat both you brothers?”

Then, Chu Zhiyuan clashed with the toad, only to be sent flying by a vicious kick from the creature.

Chu Xionghuan expressed his surprise, ”A Gem Toad?”

Chu Zhiyuan rubbed his abdomen, nearly kicked to the point of vomiting, and complained, ”Damn, wasn’t this thing supposed to have a five-star terror rating? How can it be so powerful?”

Chu Zhiyuan, an Eleven-star Yin Yang Master, couldn’t even beat the toad in a single exchange, which showed how formidable the toad was.

”No more fighting,” said Chu Hao. Others might not be able to handle the toad, but Chu Hao was different. The toad had been beaten painfully, especially by that punch to its eye.

The toad glared at Chu Hao and said, ”I’m well acquainted with the Divine Official Palace. If you want to find the treasures inside, only I can lead the way.”

Chu Xionghuan narrowed his eyes.

Chu Hao said, ”Fine, you can come with us.”

The toad was extremely displeased, having been beaten up for no good reason. It tried to provoke Chu Hao, ”Kiddo Chu, don’t you feel so inferior, okay? This memory is very precious to you, after all.”

Chu Hao couldn’t be bothered with it.

The Slit-mouthed Woman then came out and released Shangu Imperial City. After that old devil came out, he was trembling all over, his mind almost snapping. It seemed the Slit-mouthed Woman hadn’t held back in torturing him.

When Shangu Imperial City saw Chu Hao, he spoke with utter hatred, ”Chu Hao, you’d better release me! If I can’t return to Wo Country, you will be arrested by the Wo Country Yin Yang Association!”

Chu Hao said, ”Don’t threaten me with your Yin-Yang Association. From the moment you started troubling me, this outcome was destined for you.”

Shangu Imperial City said angrily, ”Do you dare to have a fair duel with me?”

Shangu Imperial City felt utterly humiliated. To think he hadn’t fallen into the hands of those Evil Ghosts at the Ghost Temple, but instead into the clutches of this Kiddo Chu! It was an immense loss of face.

Chu Hao laughed and said, ”I’m usually a reasonable person, so a duel isn’t out of the question.”

Chu Zhiyuan was stunned. My little brother isn’t really planning to duel that old devil, is he?

Chu Hao walked over, slapped Shangu Imperial City across the face, dumbfounding him, and said, ”But not just anyone can duel with this Taoist Master. Who do you think you are?”

”DING! Host has forcefully shown off, receiving 4,000 Pretentiousness Points.”

Chu Zhiyuan was flabbergasted. Shangu Imperial City was a Fourteen-star Yin-Yang Master, yet Chu Hao simply paid him no mind.

Chu Xionghuan also nodded secretly. Wang Zai’s son indeed resembles him a lot.

Shangu Imperial City was incandescent with rage. Chu Hao, however, showed him no courtesy. He searched the man and found the Eight-foot Magatama. This must be the genuine article, Chu Hao concluded.

System notification: ”Eight-foot Magatama, can be exchanged for forty thousand Pretentiousness Points.”

Chu Hao was thrilled. This item can actually be exchanged for forty thousand Pretentiousness Points! How much could the other two Divine Artifacts from Wo Country be worth? The Divine Official Palace is filled with similar objects! The thought made him eager to set off for it right away.

”Exchange.”

”DING! Host has exchanged Eight-foot Magatama, receiving forty thousand Pretentiousness Points.”
