Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 2011: 2010 You Misunderstood Him

The next morning, Jing Xiaocha got up and saw that Zhang Minghui was already awake.

He sat upright at his desk, writing something unknown.

Hearing a sound, he put down his pen and ran into the living room to say to Jing Xiaocha, “I don’t recognize any of those things, how am I supposed to learn?”

Jing Xiaocha turned away without even looking at him.

“Hey…”

Jing Xiaocha turned around, “What’s the first point?”

Zhang Minghui snorted and said reluctantly, “Auntie, how should I start learning this?”

“I’ll teach you after breakfast.”

After breakfast, while Jing Xiaocha was teaching Zhang Minghui to read, Wen Ran called.

“Xiaocha, are you free now? Can you come to the office?”

“Sure, Sister Wen, I’ll be there soon.”

After hanging up, Jing Xiaocha assigned Zhang Minghui some homework and hurried to Haochen.

Mo Xiuchen was still on a business trip and had not returned. In the office, there was only Wen Ran and Lawyer Li, whom she had met the other day.

“Miss Jing, based on the information and evidence provided by your side and the evidence collected by President Wen, you’re ready to file a lawsuit.”

“Lawyer Li, is the evidence sufficient?”

Wen Ran smiled and added, “Xiaocha, don’t worry, the evidence is enough. My brother has gathered evidence not only against Jin Fengjiao but also against that Man Tianxue. I heard you also have a recording. With all these, it’s sufficient.”

“Brother Wen.”

Jing Xiaocha’s eyes flashed with a complex emotion.

She had said the other day that Wen Jin shouldn’t interfere with her affairs, yet he still collected evidence?

“Xiaocha, you misunderstood my brother.”

Wen Ran coughed lightly as she spoke.

Jing Xiaocha, concerned, asked, “Sister Wen, are you catching a cold?”

“I’m fine.”

Wen Ran shook her head and continued, “I heard my brother told Jin Zheyu about this whole situation. He might not speak pleasantly, but his intentions are good.”

Jing Xiaocha looked down at the water cup in front of her, “Sister Wen, did Brother Wen tell you everything?”

A hint of surprise flashed through Wen Ran’s eyes; she could clearly catch the unnaturalness in Jing Xiaocha’s words.

Smiling, she said, “He feels the same as I do, that Jin Zheyu isn’t right for you. Jin Zheyu might like you a lot, but he’s not mature enough. Being in a family like that, he can’t protect you.”

“…”

“Take last time, for instance. They used the pretense of wanting to turn your novel into a TV series but wanted you to change the plot according to their demands, which was meant to make things difficult for you, hoping you’d give up.”

“This plagiarism incident wasn’t just because the editor sold you out for a bit of money. Jin Fengjiao offered him a price over ten times higher than selling the outline. Jin Fengjiao’s actions might also align with the Jin family’s intentions.”

“I misunderstood Brother Wen.”

Jing Xiaocha apologized to Wen Ran.

She was just too sensitive. When others talked to her about Jin Zheyu, she could remain calm, but when Wen Jin brought up Jin Zheyu and said those words, it was unbearable for Jing Xiaocha.

Wen Ran gave an indifferent smile, “You can’t be entirely blamed. I think my brother didn’t explain clearly to you, which led to the misunderstanding.”

After finishing their conversation, Jing Xiaocha declined Wen Ran’s offer to have lunch together and took a taxi to Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory.

It was not quite time to clock out, and the factory area was very quiet.

After paying the fare, Jing Xiaocha arrived at the security office, registered, and entered the factory area.

She didn’t call Wen Jin, but happened to meet a girl from an office building whom she knew, “Xiaocha, are you here to see President Wen?”

Jing Xiaocha talked with the girl while going up to the second floor.

Arriving at the door of Wen Jin’s office, just as she was about to raise her hand to knock, the door opened from the inside.

Seeing Jing Xiaocha standing outside, a hint of surprise flashed in Wen Jin’s eyes.

And when Jing Xiaocha saw Wen Jin inside the door, her heartbeat skipped uncontrollably, biting her lip, she softly said, “Brother Wen.”

As the words left her mouth, she noticed that Wen Jin’s other hand was holding a phone.

He had it pressed to his ear; the call seemed not to be finished.

She didn’t know who it was on the other end of the line, but Wen Jin stepped aside to let her into the office, responding to the person on the phone, “Yes, it’s Xiaocha.”

Jing Xiaocha walked over to sit on the sofa.

Wen Jin finished his phone call, walked over to her, and asked, “What would you like to drink?”

“Brother Wen, I don’t need anything to drink.”

Jing Xiaocha quickly shook her head.

Wen Jin still poured her a glass of water, sat on another sofa, and gently asked, “Did Lawyer Li reach out to you?”

“I just came from Sister Wen’s company, Brother Wen, I’m sorry, I misunderstood you the other day.”

Jing Xiaocha had come to apologize; she had misunderstood Wen Jin and said those words.

Wen Jin gave a faint smile and changed the subject, “What did Lawyer Li say, are you ready to file a lawsuit?”

“Yes.”

Jing Xiaocha recounted the situation to Wen Jin. The lawsuit would be handled by Lawyer Li, she didn’t have to manage anything.

“That’s good. Just now, Yihan called to say let’s have lunch together. Let’s go, time to eat.”

Wen Jin stood up; the other day, when Jing Xiaocha stormed off in anger, he hadn’t been upset.

Jing Xiaocha then realized that earlier he was on the phone with Ou Yihan. It seemed they were making good progress. She shook her head with a smile, “I have a child at home, so I won’t join you and Sister Ou for lunch, Brother Wen. I’ll be heading off now.”

“That Zhang Minghui?”

Wen Jin pondered briefly and asked calmly.

“Yes, he’s staying at my house now.”

“I heard from Ah Kai that he got into a fight and was hospitalized a few days ago. Has he been discharged?”

As the two walked out of the office, Wen Jin closed the office door, asking in a gentle tone.

“He’s been discharged.”

On reaching the staircase, Jing Xiaocha’s phone rang. It was a call from home.

Zhang Minghui’s voice, tinged with tears, was transmitted through the phone, “Jing… Auntie, I burnt my hand.”

Jing Xiaocha frowned, “How did you burn your hand?”

“I was trying to boil water to drink and ended up burning my hand. It hurts, it hurts so much. Auntie, when will you be back?”

“Turn on the cold water and run it under it, I’ll be home soon.”

Walking alongside Jing Xiaocha, Wen Jin heard her conversation and, seeing her hang up, said, “Wait for me at the factory gate, I’ll give you a ride home.”

Before Jing Xiaocha could refuse, he turned and headed to the parking area.

Zhang Minghui had not been clear over the phone about the severity of his burn, so Jing Xiaocha did not refuse Wen Jin’s offer to drive her home.

From Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory to her apartment wasn’t very far; Wen Jin drove fast and they arrived in under twenty minutes.

“Brother Wen, thank you.”

Jing Xiaocha thanked him, opened the car door, and got out.

Wen Jin lowered his eyes, also undid his seatbelt, and opened the door to get out, “I’ll go up with you to take a look.”

Wen Jin, of course, knew Zhang Minghui and was aware that the child did not respect Jing Xiaocha. He wondered if Jing Xiaocha could manage him.
