Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1986: Chapter 1985: Do You Like Wen Jin?

After taking her seat, Jing Xiaocha asked the server for a cup of Blue Mountain coffee, then looked up at Jin Fengjiao, who was sitting opposite her, staring at her with disdainful eyes the entire time.

“Miss Jin, if you have something to say, just say it.”

Jing Xiaocha couldn’t be bothered with Jin Fengjiao’s attitude.

It’s not like she didn’t know wealthy people, like Wen Ran, Bai Xiaoxiao, An Lin; they all had excellent family backgrounds, coming from wealth and prestige.

But none of them ever looked at people like Jin Fengjiao did.

In her heart, Jing Xiaocha categorized Jin Fengjiao as a shallow, unrefined type of woman.

Jin Fengjiao’s gaze on Jing Xiaocha was sharp and scornful, clearly disatisfied with Jing Xiaocha’s demeanor.

Jin Fengjiao scrutinized Jing Xiaocha for a long while, a hint of contempt flashed in her eyes before she arrogantly spoke, “I heard you’re writing a novel.”

“…”

The server brought the coffee at this moment; Jing Xiaocha didn’t answer Jin Fengjiao’s question but politely thanked the server instead.

“I heard from Zheyu that you’ve been writing for just over a year, only as an online writer and a newcomer at that. Yet you’re thinking of adapting your novel into a film, and Zheyu has been praising you to my dad because of this.”

Jing Xiaocha added half a spoon of sugar to her coffee, focusing intently as she stirred it with the spoon.

Her nonchalant attitude evidently angered Jin Fengjiao, who was used to being the center of attention and admiration; her voice was tinged with irritation, “Jing Xiaocha, what is your attitude? Did you hear what I just said?”

Jing Xiaocha’s delicate brows furrowed slightly, she slowly raised her eyes to Jin Fengjiao’s angry face, “Miss Jin, just say whatever you want, I’m listening.”

“You…”

Jin Fengjiao was so infuriated by her attitude she felt like coughing up blood.

Jing Xiaocha found unexplainable satisfaction at the sight of her fiery gaze.

It seems she really needs to cultivate herself more, to learn the gentle and serene demeanor of Sister Wen and Sister Yiyi.

Dealing with an arrogant rich girl like Jin Fengjiao required no words at all.

“Let me ask you again, do you want your novel adapted into a popular idol drama?”

Jing Xiaocha raised her eyebrows slightly, “Why does Miss Jin ask this?”

Jin Fengjiao’s anger was immediately replaced by a cold sneer, thinking Jing Xiaocha must have been pretending earlier.

No writer would refuse for their novel to be adapted into a film, let alone a newcomer like Jing Xiaocha.

If she truly didn’t want this, why else would she have played hard to get with her brother, prompting him to highly recommend her novel?

“If you want your novel to be made into a TV drama, you don’t need to go through my brother, I can help you. My brother has already upset my parents because of you.”

A flicker of surprise flashed in Jing Xiaocha’s eyes, “Miss Jin, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I didn’t ask Classmate Jin for help. I do hope my novel can be adapted into a TV drama, but I intend to achieve it through my own efforts.”

“Efforts?”

Jin Fengjiao laughed as if she heard a very amusing joke, “Jing Xiaocha, you’re just a newcomer. There’re plenty more experienced and skilled than you. I’m giving you a chance now, won’t you stop pretending to be reserved and reject it?”

Jing Xiaocha was finally amused by Jin Fengjiao’s reaction.

Originally, she wasn’t the kind of girl who could endure much; in the past, she had a hot temper too.

But after she met Wen Ran and the others, spending much time with them, she learned a bit.

“Then why would Miss Jin help me?”

She mimicked Jin Fengjiao’s sneer as she looked at her.

Jin Fengjiao took a sip of her coffee before arrogantly replying, “As long as you help me with one thing, I can persuade my dad to invest heavily in making your novel into a TV drama, and guarantee its viewership ratings.”

This time, Jing Xiaocha was genuinely curious.

She wondered what this arrogant, ill-mannered rich lady, who looked down on her, could possibly need her help with.

“What does Miss Jin need my help with?”

Driven by curiosity, Jing Xiaocha asked.

Jin Fengjiao’s expression finally softened a bit, perhaps because she needed a favor, or for some other reason, at least her disdain was less evident on her heavily made-up face.

“Our new drama starting production soon involves many scenes with pharmaceuticals, and requires a pharmaceutical factory as the key filming location…”

Jing Xiaocha finally understood why Jin Fengjiao sought her out.

“…If you can convince Wen Jin to agree to collaborate with us, that’s all I need.”

The reason Jin Fengjiao came to find Jing Xiaocha was because after Jing Xiaocha and Wen Jin left in the afternoon, Jin Fengjiao had called Wen Jin once more.

But Wen Jin turned her down over the phone.

Later, through Jin Zheyu, she learned that Jing Xiaocha and Wen Jin had known each other for a long time, that she had worked at Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory before, and had a good relationship with Wen Jin.

She was jealous regarding the last point.

“Miss Jin, I’m sorry, but I can’t fulfill your request.”

“Can’t do it?”

Jin Fengjiao screamed, “Aren’t you close to Wen Jin? Didn’t he personally take you home? Are you unwilling, or do you have ulterior motives for Wen Jin?”

Jing Xiaocha frowned.

She really couldn’t stand Jin Fengjiao.

Remaining patient, she explained calmly, “I do know Brother Wen, but that doesn’t mean I’ll interfere with his decisions. If the factory really suits your filming needs, Brother Wen will definitely be willing.”

“Of course it’s suitable.”

Jin Fengjiao interjected eagerly.

Jing Xiaocha’s demeanor cooled considerably, “If Brother Wen isn’t willing, then no matter how much others say, it’s useless.”

“He’s a businessman, he should prioritize profit. Let him know he doesn’t need to worry about the compensation; moreover, when our new drama airs, it could also serve as an advertisement for Wen’s Pharmaceutical Factory…”

Jin Fengjiao elaborated on all the benefits.

Others wanted to collaborate with them, yet she was unwilling.

“Miss Jin, if there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.”

With that, Jing Xiaocha took out her wallet to pay for her coffee.

“Jing Xiaocha, it’s just a few words, why not agree?”

Just as Jing Xiaocha stood up, Jin Fengjiao followed suit, taking a step forward to block her way.

“Miss Jin.”

Jing Xiaocha addressed her politely.

Jin Fengjiao glared at her, “Be honest with me, do you like Wen Jin? Is that why you won’t accept Zheyu’s pursuit?”

“Miss Jin, you have quite the imagination.”

“You can’t fool me. Girls from poor backgrounds like you do enjoy seducing men everywhere, playing hard to get. Only Zheyu would fall naively for it. If you don’t help me, I won’t let you be with Zheyu.”

In the end, Jin Fengjiao resorted to threats.

Jing Xiaocha was utterly speechless at her behavior.

She really couldn’t understand how Jin Fengjiao, as Jin Zheyu’s sister, showed not the least bit of the etiquette or bearing expected of a wealthy family’s daughter.
