Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 2007: 2006 Are You Two Dating?

Jing Xiaocha widened her eyes in surprise.

The ‘Man Tianxue’ that Ou Yihan mentioned was the romance author who had published before her.

Having published many novels, it was said that she had now transitioned to being a screenwriter and was quite famous.

She instinctively looked at Wen Jin and suddenly understood why Wen Jin didn’t tell her himself and needed Ou Yihan to tell her.

It was because of her defense of Jin Zheyu that day that she angered Wen Jin.

As Ou Yihan spoke, she laughed, took out her phone with immense pride, and said, “Xiaocha, I recorded the evidence for you. Although it’s not complete, I did capture the most important sentences.”

“You recorded it?”

A touch of happiness broke through Jing Xiaocha’s eyes.

Ou Yihan nodded and cheerfully said, “I’ll send it to your phone.”

“Okay.”

Jing Xiaocha nodded eagerly.

Just as Ou Yihan sent the recording to Jing Xiaocha, the waiter brought the dishes, and her phone rang.

Not knowing what happened, she suddenly looked serious and said, “I’ll go back immediately.”

“Wen Jin, Xiaocha, there’s an urgent situation, and I need to return to the hospital immediately. You two continue eating.”

As she said this, she picked up the bag she had placed beside her and stood up to leave.

Concern flashed in Wen Jin’s eyes, and he stood up with her, “I’ll take you back to the hospital.”

“No, no, you stay here and eat with Xiaocha. I drove, so I’ll go back myself.”

Ou Yihan waved at Wen Jin and said to Jing Xiaocha, “Xiaocha, I’ll ask you out for coffee another day.”

And then she hurriedly left.

Initially, Jing Xiaocha felt like a third wheel, which was inconvenient.

But after Ou Yihan left, Jing Xiaocha felt the atmosphere had become even more awkward.

Once all the dishes were served, Wen Jin slowly picked up his chopsticks and said warmly, “Eat up.”

“Mm.”

Jing Xiaocha smiled awkwardly and picked up her chopsticks, serving Wen Jin some food, “Brother Wen, thank you and Sister Ou.”

“…”

Wen Jin looked at her with a faint air of doubt in his eyes.

Jing Xiaocha’s eyes flickered, unable to decipher what was in his gaze. She then changed the topic and asked, “Brother Wen, are you and Sister Ou dating?”

Wen Jin lowered his gaze, looking at the food on his plate, “Something like that.”

His nonchalant three words struck a chord in Jing Xiaocha’s heart.

Her hand holding the chopsticks involuntarily tightened, and her clear eyes clouded with a hint of sadness, though it was just a fleeting emotion.

Soon enough, her delicate face bloomed into a bright smile, “Brother Wen, I wish you and Sister Ou a successful relationship.”

“Xiaocha.”

As Jing Xiaocha finished speaking, a surprised male voice sounded from behind.

She turned her head to see Jin Zheyu striding over to their table with Fan Lu, her classmate, following behind him.

“Xiaocha, you’re dining here too?”

Fan Lu stood next to Jin Zheyu, speaking happily with a charming smile on her face.

“Classmate Jin, Lu Lu, are you also dining here?”

Jing Xiaocha showed a polite smile at Jin Zheyu and Fan Lu. She always knew Fan Lu liked Jin Zheyu.

For Jin Zheyu, Pan Lu had worked hard to enter the entertainment industry and was now a contracted artist with Star Summer Film and Television. It was said she played the second female lead in a new drama.

Now, she dressed more fashionably than she did when she was studying, and with delicate makeup, she looked beautiful and charming.

Jin Zheyu hadn’t seen Jing Xiaocha for many days. He had planned to call her the past few days, but unexpectedly ran into her here.

He would have been happier if Jing Xiaocha wasn’t with Wen Jin.

“Xiaocha, I thought you were still at home rushing your manuscript, so I didn’t dare call you. Is your manuscript done?”

Jin Zheyu’s words of concern curved the corners of Wen Jin’s mouth slightly.

However, the smile didn’t reach his lips; if observed closely, one could see a faint hint of cold mockery.

His sister Jin Fengjiao had set Xiaocha up, yet this Jin Zheyu pretended to be concerned about Xiaocha, asking if her manuscript was finished.

Jing Xiaocha said lightly, “It’s done, just out to get some fresh air today.”

“Senior, let’s not disturb Xiaocha and President Wen’s meal. Xiaocha, I’ll chat with you after you finish eating.”

Fan Lu didn’t want Jin Zheyu and Jing Xiaocha to talk for too long.

However, Jin Zheyu didn’t want to leave, “Didn’t you say earlier that you were unsure about how to express two scenes? Xiaocha is a writer; she can surely give you some advice. Xiaocha, if you’re done discussing things with President Wen, why not join us for a meal?”

Upon hearing Jin Zheyu’s suggestion, Fan Lu displayed a surprised expression.

In a place Jin Zheyu couldn’t see, she subtly gestured to Jing Xiaocha, signaling her to refuse.

Jin Zheyu, eyes fixed on Jing Xiaocha, didn’t notice Fan Lu’s gesture, but Wen Jin, observing the scene, took it all in.

He suddenly chuckled.

Jin Zheyu’s expression changed slightly, “What is President Wen laughing at?”

His tone was somewhat cold and hard.

Seeing Wen Jin as his top rival, the last person Jin Zheyu wanted to meet was Wen Jin.

Especially when standing next to Wen Jin, in terms of temperament and composure, he felt inadequate compared to him.

Wen Jin was several years older than him, his poise honed in the business world, and his gentle and graceful demeanor cultivated from a young age was not something he could match.

Wen Jin casually lifted the corners of his lips and said nonchalantly, “No matter how important something is, nothing is more important than eating. Besides, Xiaocha has been in a bad mood these days and probably doesn’t have the mind for other matters.”

“Xiaocha, what happened?”

After listening to Wen Jin’s words, Jin Zheyu looked at Jing Xiaocha with an added layer of concern.

Jing Xiaocha hadn’t expected Wen Jin to tell Jin Zheyu; she hesitated momentarily, then calmly replied, “Just a small matter.”

“What is it? Tell me, maybe I can help you.”

“This matter, Young Master Jin, you can indeed help.”

The response came from Wen Jin. Jing Xiaocha’s expression changed slightly as she called out, “Brother Wen.”

Wen Jin ignored Jing Xiaocha’s anxiety, hesitated only briefly before saying, “The manuscript Xiaocha submitted is said to have plagiarized another newly published novel. The editor you introduced her to has also asked her to revise the manuscript within the remaining time, or else pay a high breach of contract penalty.”

Jin Zheyu looked at Wen Jin in shock, “Are you serious?”

Upon speaking, he also looked at Jing Xiaocha, “Xiaocha, with such a big issue, why didn’t you tell me?”

“I don’t want to trouble Classmate Jin. You should go eat with Lu Lu first; I’ll handle my matters myself.”

Jing Xiaocha’s voice was calm, but the plagiarism issue involved his sister; how could she talk to him about it?

Moreover, she didn’t want to get too close to Jin Zheyu. Why would she actively seek him out?
