Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1280: 1279 Tongtong’s birthday wish

Bai Yiyi fell silent before speaking softly, “I just heard a couple of sentences from President Wen, I’m not quite sure about the details.”

“Yiyi, the leader takes the matter with your pharmaceutical company very seriously, he even held a special meeting…”

Zhang Siming told Bai Yiyi the detailed situation over the phone, and as she listened to him, her brows gradually furrowed.

In the washroom, four little treasures finished washing their hands and came out together noisily, rushing towards the dining room.

Wen Ran followed behind them, calling out worriedly, “Babies, slow down, don’t fall.”

“Ranran, don’t worry, if they fall, they just get back up. Kids won’t break from a fall.”

Mo Xiuchen’s features carried a charming smile. Although his mouth said it was alright, his pace quickened to catch up with the four little ones who were running ahead.

Gu Kai glanced over to the balcony and saw Bai Yiyi still on the phone. A flicker of displeasure passed through his eyes and his thin lips pressed lightly together.

The group entered the dining room, where Gu Kai inserted the candles into the cake, and seeing the four little ones looking at the cake with anticipation, he asked with a smile, “Babies, would you like to eat the cake first or have dinner first?”

“Cake, cake.”

Tongtong clapped her hands while calling out, her voice clear and loud.

“Tongtong, go call your mom to come in and help you blow out the candles,” Gu Kai said with a smile as he reached out and gently touched Tongtong’s cheek. Upon receiving the order, Tongtong immediately turned around and ran out of the dining room.

A moment later, she came back pulling Bai Yiyi in with her.

“Mommy, blow out the candles.”

Tongtong was extremely excited, while Momo, Xin Xin, and Ziyi also happily waited for the cake.

It’s not that they hadn’t eaten cake before, but today’s cake was very special and beautiful, made by Gu Kai himself.

The little rabbit on the cake stood with its ears upright, in a running pose.

Its two red eyes were particularly striking against the white frosting, and Tongtong fixated on the little rabbit, “Eat the rabbit.”

“Baby, don’t rush, before we eat the cake, we need to make a wish and blow out the candles. Do you know what making a wish is?”

“Don’t know.”

Tongtong blinked her eyes in confusion, looking at Bai Yiyi: What is making a wish?

Bai Yiyi chuckled lightly, just about to speak, when An Lin stepped forward, turned Tongtong’s small frame around, squatted down to her eye level, and said with a smile, “Tongtong, would you like Auntie to tell you what making a wish is?”

“Okay.” Tongtong opened her small mouth, smiling sweetly.

An Lin’s eyes twinkled, and she spoke cheerfully, “Making a wish means Tongtong’s wish, whatever Tongtong wants, or to say, whom she wants to be with. Later, when you face the lit candles and make a wish, it will come true.”

“Daddy and mommy, together.”

Tongtong’s bright eyes blinked a few times; she looked up at Gu Kai and then at Bai Yiyi, then looked away, answering An Lin’s question with her childishly tender and sweet voice.

Tongtong’s voice wasn’t very loud, but the dining room was very quiet at the moment, with the three other little treasures not speaking, and the others including Gu Kai were listening to An Lin and Tongtong talking.

Therefore, everyone heard Tongtong’s words loud and clear.

Momo, Xin Xin, and Ziyi didn’t understand what Tongtong was saying; they were just looking forward to the cake.

Upon hearing Tongtong’s answer, Gu Kai’s thick eyelashes drooped slightly, concealing the fleeting emotions in his eyes, while Bo Yi’s lips were pressed into a straight line.

Bai Yiyi’s expression also changed slightly, as a complex wave of emotions spread through her heart.

An Lin was initially stunned, then burst into a happy smile, “Yiyi, Ah Kai, did you hear that? This is Tongtong’s birthday wish. You two have to work hard to fulfill Tongtong’s wish, right, Tongtong?”

“Tongtong, the candles are ready, now we need to make a wish towards the candles for it to count.”

Wen Ran’s voice interjected, and after she finished speaking, she picked up Tongtong and placed her onto the chair.

Bai Yiyi was somewhat absent-minded due to Tongtong’s words, with An Lin and Wen Ran on either side, one left and one right, supporting Tongtong, teaching her to put her hands together and close her eyes.

“Tongtong, say your wish out loud.”

“You can’t say your wish out loud.” Wen Ran glanced at An Lin and gently said, “Tongtong, just like your aunt, say it to yourself in your heart. After we blow out the candles, you can tell us what your wish is.”

After speaking, Wen Ran demonstrated by putting her hands together and closing her eyes; Tongtong watched her, seeing her lips move but unable to hear her voice. She blinked, somewhat puzzled.

“Tongtong, just like how Auntie just taught you, say what you want to do and who you want to be with.”

Tongtong looked at her, then at Wen Ran who still had her eyes closed, cracked a small smile, and shouted to Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi standing on the side, “Daddy, Mommy.”

Gu Kai and Bai Yiyi exchanged a glance, and as soon as An Lin and Wen Ran heard Tongtong’s call, they immediately stepped aside to let the two of them come over.

“Tongtong, if you don’t know how to make a wish, we’ll just blow out the candles.”

Gu Kai bent down, his handsome face close to Tongtong’s little cheek.

Tongtong giggled, closed her eyes, put her hands together, and whispered, “Tongtong with Daddy, Mommy.”

After finishing, she opened her eyes, one small hand holding onto Gu Kai’s hand, the other grabbing Bai Yiyi’s, “Daddy, Mommy, stay with Tongtong.”

Bai Yiyi felt as if her heart was being gripped by an invisible hand, an indescribable pain quickly spreading throughout her body.

Raising her eyes to look at the person next to her, that person was also looking at her, his gaze deep as the ocean, bottomless.

Her heart choked up for a moment, and she reached back to hold Tongtong’s hand.

Gu Kai merely looked at her once, their gazes met and then parted, his handsome features betraying no emotion.

“Tongtong, Mommy will count to three, and then we’ll blow out the candles together.”

“Daddy, too.”

Tongtong nodded with a smile and tugged at Gu Kai’s hand she was holding.

On the side, Wen Ran watched this scene and couldn’t help but feel a tinge of sourness in her heart.

The hand that hung by her side was suddenly held by a large one, she looked up and saw Mo Xiuchen looking at her tenderly.

As their eyes met, Mo Xiuchen gave her a gentle smile.

“Daddy, Mommy.”

Next to her, Momo’s childish voice rang out. Wen Ran smiled softly, pulled her hand out of Mo Xiuchen’s grasp, bent down, and lifted Momo onto the chair.

An Lin quietly looked up at Qin Mu beside her, seeing him gently watching Tongtong and her parents, and she couldn’t help but tighten her hand at her side a little.

She made a silent resolution in her heart not to have children before Qin Mu liked her.

She didn’t want her future children, like Tongtong, to feel such sorrow, longing to be with their parents as an extravagant wish.

Bai Yiyi counted very slowly, and upon reaching three, she helped Tongtong blow out the candles together.

Seeing the candles blown out, a look of joy immediately blossomed on Tongtong’s little face, “Cake, Tongtong rabbit.”

“Don’t rush, Daddy will make you a rabbit. Tongtong, this rabbit is yourself, do you really want to eat yourself up?”

“Eat the rabbit.”

Tongtong, with wide eyes, could only think about eating the rabbit. The notion of being with Daddy and Mommy had been completely forgotten.
