Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1266: 1265 is not too bad to eat

Bai Yiyi was grinding her teeth in anger, really regretting feeling pity for him earlier and making him noodles. She should have put a pack of laxatives in his bowl.

Gu Kai looked up, seeing Bai Yiyi’s puffed-up little face, and couldn’t help but smile cheerfully, “Bai Yiyi, if you want to scold me, just let it out. Don’t keep it bottled up.”

Bai Yiyi glared at him and turned to leave.

“Where are you going?”

Seeing her leaving, Gu Kai immediately raised his voice in displeasure.

“Going back to my room to sleep.” Bai Yiyi turned her head, her face cold, “Also, don’t call me to open the door for you in the future. If you forget the password, you don’t need to come in.”

“You changed the password, that’s why I don’t remember it.” Gu Kai’s response left Bai Yiyi speechless.

She suddenly felt that Gu Kai was definitely up to no good when he had her change the password, intentionally disturbing her repeatedly, whether early in the morning, in the afternoon, or in the middle of the night.

She took a deep breath, returned to him in two steps, and reached out her hand, “Cellphone.”

“What for?”

Gu Kai looked at her puzzled.

“Give me the phone.” Bai Yiyi closed her eyes impatiently with an annoyed tone.

Gu Kai slowly took out his cellphone and handed it to her, then bowed his head and stuffed noodles into his mouth, seemingly casually, “These noodles aren’t too bad, consider it a cleanse. Meatless is fine.”

“What’s the unlock code?”

Bai Yiyi’s voice rose.

Gu Kai smirked, “Tongtong’s birthday.”

A minute later, Bai Yiyi placed the phone heavily on the coffee table, “I’ve saved the front door’s password in your phone, don’t call me to open the door next time.”

“Bai Yiyi, be a bit gentler, can you act a bit more like a woman?”

Gu Kai tenderly picked up his phone to check, indeed, the password was saved in his phone.

Bai Yiyi turned around, about to leave, but suddenly thought of something and turned her head back again, a hint of hesitancy flickering in her gaze toward Gu Kai.

Gu Kai took a couple more bites of noodles, looked up, and saw Bai Yiyi quietly watching him. His eyes twinkled, and he wiped his mouth with his hand, “Don’t look at me like that, just say what you need to say.”

“I’ll tell you after you finish eating.”

Bai Yiyi pursed her lips, sat down on the nearby sofa, and started flipping through a magazine.

Gu Kai gave her a scrutinizing glance and continued focusing on eating his noodles.

Despite being hungry, Gu Kai ate elegantly without rushing. Bai Yiyi eventually put the magazine aside and simply enjoyed watching the handsome guy eat.

Gu Kai finished the noodles, even drinking the soup clean.

“Alright, you can talk now.”

Gu Kai leaned back into the sofa after wiping his mouth with a tissue from the box beside him, watching Bai Yiyi calmly.

Bai Yiyi glanced at the bowl in front of him, “Are you full?”

“Barely, but it’s fine as long as I’m not hungry.”

Gu Kai tugged at the corner of his mouth, knowing their relationship, it was already good of her to cook him a bowl of noodles.

There’s no way she would cook another bowl, he was clear on that.

Hearing his tone, Bai Yiyi knew he wasn’t full, she pursed her lips and pulled a smile, “Eating too much late at night isn’t good; half-full is enough.”

“Do you need help with something?”

Gu Kai studied Bai Yiyi’s delicate and fair face, with refined features and those bright, large eyes seemed to hold hesitation.

There must be something she needs help with, yet she fears his refusal, so she dares not speak.

“It’s not that I need your help.” Bai Yiyi instinctively denied, not wanting to owe him any favors. After a moment, she said, “This afternoon, after you went to the ward, Wei Jingshan came looking for you in the office.”

“Wei Jingshan?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Kai’s handsome face suddenly clouded over.

Bai Yiyi deliberately emphasized the last few words to let him know that Wei Jingshan was looking for him.

“Yes, she wants to plead with you to let her stay.”

Bai Yiyi offered a concealing smile, “Gu Kai, since Wei Jingshan gets to be personally mentored by you, she must be very knowledgeable in her field, right?”

Gu Kai’s expression turned cold, dismissively saying, “A person with problematic character, no matter how good their professional knowledge, cannot stay at Kangning Hospital. Such people will surely not prioritize patients over personal gain in the future.”

“Wei Jingshan said that she just leaked information to the media, and those contents were not dictated by her,” Bai Yiyi explained calmly, noticing Gu Kai’s displeased expression, she hesitated again.

But remembering the scene of Wei Jingshan kneeling down and continuously kowtowing, Bai Yiyi clenched her teeth and continued, “Wei Jingshan asked me to speak with you, to see if there’s another way to punish her and let her stay at the hospital. Being a doctor has been her dream since she was a child.”

Gu Kai let out a cold laugh.

“Bai Yiyi, are you convinced by her?”

“It’s not that I’m convinced, it’s just that she was very emotional at the time, to the extent of even kneeling down and kowtowing just to stay. Gu Kai, maybe it’s as she said.”

“Who was it that told me before, that Wei Jingshan looks innocent, but is actually quite good at stirring up trouble, and someone who said Wei Jingshan likes me. Bai Yiyi, have you been sold out and still counting money for others? Everyone says you’re the other woman, yet you still sympathize with others.”

Gu Kai’s fierce retort made Bai Yiyi frown.

Those words, she had said them.

But now, isn’t the situation special?

She lowered her eyes, her hands crossed on her lap, tightening slightly.

What moved her about Wei Jingshan wasn’t the dream of practicing medicine from childhood, but rather, Wei Jingshan saying she has been an orphan since she was little.

Bai Yiyi wasn’t an orphan, but she was raised in a single-parent household.

She has a father, but it’s as if she doesn’t; during her childhood, other kids would say she was a fatherless illegitimate child.

Wei Jingshan said she was taken in by a kind old lady, so one can imagine that her childhood wasn’t happy either.

Gu Kai stood up, his voice grave, “Don’t bother with Wei Jingshan’s issue anymore, Kangning Hospital cannot keep her any longer.”

Bai Yiyi looked up again, meeting his indifferent gaze. She pursed her lips and said awkwardly, “Then you call her and tell her.”

“Hmm, you should go to bed early, I’m heading back now.”

After saying this, Gu Kai got up from the sofa and strode towards the door.

The next morning, Gu Kai brought breakfast over, and after accompanying Tongtong to finish her breakfast, he took her to work.

On the way, Bai Yiyi asked him, “Have you called Wei Jingshan yet?”

Focused on driving, Gu Kai gave her a look of disdain and said mockingly, “Bai Yiyi, I went back from your place last night and it was already past midnight. Do you think I would call a woman who has feelings for me at midnight and cause her to misunderstand?”

Bai Yiyi’s mouth twitched, “Then weren’t you also disturbing me in the middle of the night?”

Gu Kai had just given her a idiotic look a second ago, but the next moment, he laughed neurotically, leaving Bai Yiyi utterly confused.
