Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1263: 1262 you seem to be afraid of me

An Lin’s hand holding the cup trembled slightly.

Even though she knew they were discussing this matter downstairs, hearing Qin Mu tell her this news in person caused An Lin’s heart to skip a beat, then start pounding irregularly.

Perhaps it was because Qin Mu was sitting too close; the air she breathed in between her nostrils was filled with his crisp and mature male scent.

In the past, even if she liked him, her heart wouldn’t race just from being close to him.

Ever since the other night when the two of them became physically intimate, every time Qin Mu got close, An Lin couldn’t help but feel her heart racing uncontrollably.

The images from that night uncontrollably replayed in her mind at random times.

She wanted to erase them, but couldn’t.

Seeing An Lin not speaking, Qin Mu’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, a hint of puzzlement flashing in his eyes, and he called out again: “An Lin.”

Only then did An Lin look up, her gaze meeting his.

Qin Mu smiled faintly, trying to make his tone as gentle as possible, “You don’t need to be nervous, it’s just getting a certificate to put our parents’ minds at ease.”

An Lin nodded, pulling at the corners of her mouth, but the smile did not come naturally.

“Alright, let’s go tomorrow then.”

Seeing her agreement, the smile on Qin Mu’s lips spread, his mood instantly lifted. For a moment, he couldn’t resist and like when they were still buddies, he reached out his big hand to ruffle her hair.

An Lin froze suddenly.

Only then did Qin Mu realize his behavior was somewhat inappropriate; the smile on his face stiffened for a moment, and he withdrew his hand, saying, “It’s good that you agreed. If you didn’t, my dad would have shot me dead.”

“Uncle Qin isn’t as scary as you say.”

An Lin retorted stiffly.

Qin Mu chuckled lightly, speaking earnestly, “I’m not lying to you. Yesterday, when I told my dad that we were together, he was so furious he might as well have climbed through the phone just to shoot me dead.”

“Pfft.”

While speaking, Qin Mu also gestured.

An Lin couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Seeing her laugh, Qin Mu secretly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that An Lin must have come around.

In fact, he did not dislike An Lin; he just didn’t have romantic feelings for her.

That’s why he had been so harsh when she confessed her feelings. Later, to make her forget him, he even had dinner with Miss Gao.

That was what led to that night’s events.

Speaking of which, the fact that Miss Gao drugged him was his own fault. Since An Lin was implicated by him, he, being a responsible person, couldn’t just wipe his mouth clean and walk away.

Yesterday, when Qin Mu told his parents that he and An Lin had already been intimate, his father roared over the phone saying that if he didn’t bring An Lin back home and register for marriage immediately, he would shoot him dead.

At that moment, Qin Mu thought to himself, if I don’t take responsibility, you won’t be able to find me, nor shoot me.

But he dared not say it aloud.

“What about my parents, have they gone back yet?”

After a moment, An Lin asked again.

Qin Mu shook his head, “Not yet, your mom is discussing with my mom about when to hold the wedding feast, and whether they want a grandson or a granddaughter first.”

“How could they be discussing those things already?”

The moment An Lin heard talk of whether they wanted a grandson or a granddaughter first, her face suddenly heated up, with unhealthy images surfacing in her mind again.

Beside her, Qin Mu watched as her face suddenly turned red, a deeper look appearing in his eyes.

“Don’t mind it, I’m already used to it. Since I became an adult, my mother has nagged me hundreds of times a year, urging me to get married and have children.”

Qin Mu spoke teasingly.

An Lin couldn’t help but laugh, smoothly taking over the conversation, “I know, your aunt has tried every method to get you married, she even told me to persuade you.”

“It’s not like you’ve never helped my mom trick me before.” Qin Mu glared at her sideways.

An Lin immediately defended herself, “Your aunt pleaded with me so earnestly, how could I not agree?”

As they talked about the past, the awkwardness between them dissipated. Having grown up together, although An Lin was two years younger than Qin Mu, the age difference wasn’t significant enough to create a gap between them.

Because their families were close, An Lin often visited Qin Mu’s house.

She was also very close to Mother Qin, and there wasn’t anything about Qin Mu that An Lin didn’t know.

The only exception was his feelings for Wen Ran in G City, which she found out about too late.

Qin Mu’s attention was drawn to the images on the LCD screen, “Ah Kai is really something, lies without even a blush or a pant, just like the real deal.”

“How come your focus is different? Didn’t you notice, Fang Zhiwei and Yiyi sitting on either side of Ah Kai, it gives off the vibe of an ancient emperor with his consorts,” said An Lin.

An Lin put down the cup in her hand, leaned a bit towards Qin Mu, tilted her head slightly, and pointed at the LCD screen.

Qin Mu’s lips twitched, and he said with a smile, “If Ah Kai were really an emperor, he wouldn’t need to pull Fang Zhiwei in to vouch for Bai Yiyi.”

“That’s true, I’m talking about the feel, the feeling.” An Lin repeated the word ‘feeling’ hoping Qin Mu would understand her meaning.

Qin Mu looked down, his gaze meeting An Lin’s; An Lin was startled and immediately averted her eyes.

“An Lin, you seem pretty scared of me now,” Qin Mu said casually with a narrowed gaze.

An Lin’s eyes flickered as she shook her head in denial, “No, why would I be scared of you?”

“Then why can’t you look at me? In the past, you never dodged like this,” Qin Mu looked at her puzzled.

An Lin glared at him, stood up, and found an excuse to slip away: “I’ll go to the restroom for a bit.”

G City

After the call with An Lin, Wen Ran watched alone for a few minutes before she dialed Mo Xiuchen’s number out of boredom.

The phone rang twice, and Mo Xiuchen’s voice came through gently over the waves, “Ranran, have the three little ones gone to sleep?”

“How did you know?”

Wen Ran chuckled softly, her tender voice carrying a hint of coquetry.

Ha ha!

Mo Xiuchen laughed heartily on the phone, “Of course I know, without the three of them asleep, you wouldn’t have the time to call me. Only when they’re asleep do you think of me.”

“How could that be? Even when they’re awake, I think of you, especially when those three little troublemakers are being clingy, I miss you even more.”

“You miss me coming back to share the burden, right?”

“Exactly, smart. By the way, did you watch the live broadcast of my brother’s press conference?”

“I haven’t had the chance to see it yet, was just in a meeting and only now returned to my office. Did you watch it? Tell me, how was it?”

“It was really good, An Lin just said Sister Wei and Yiyi sitting next to my brother looked like they were an emperor with his consorts from ancient times. Everything has been explained clearly now, so those reporters shouldn’t write nonsense anymore,” Wen Ran explained while laughing.

Hearing her words, Mo Xiuchen laughed heartily on the phone, “Ranran, you can pass this message to Ah Kai, tell him to make sure not to give off an ancient emperor with his consorts vibe the next time he holds a press conference.”
