Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2882: Chapter 2883: It’s Xunyang City

The moonlight outside the cave entrance shone onto the streets and alleys, everything around was silent. A household had hung a worn-out lantern by the door, adding some illumination. But the entrance was too small, and the view was extremely limited, failing to reveal any peculiarities of this ”Immortal Land”.

”Could it be that everyone from the Immortal Land has come over here, leaving it desolate on that side?” Bai Ruozhu speculated.

”Perhaps there are still people there, maybe they’ve gone to sleep.” Ao Song suggested, ”Why don’t we go and take a look?”

”How long will the entrance remain open, and will we be unable to return?” Astrologer expressed concern.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and said, ”Alright, we’ll accompany Ao Song to go have a look, and Astrologer will stay to guard the entrance. If there’s any change, your Yin Yang Techniques can adapt accordingly. Jianqi will stay to help Astrologer as well.”

This arrangement was the most reasonable, and everyone agreed.

Jiang Yichun reached out to hold Bai Ruozhu’s hand, ”Don’t let go.”

Meanwhile, Ao Song grabbed Bai Ruozhu from the other side, ”Sister Ruozhu, it’s more reliable if you hold onto me.”

Jiang Yichun was speechless, guarding against men trying to steal his wife, now he had to guard against women trying to steal his wife too?

Time waited for no one, and the three dared not delay, holding hands, they squeezed through the entrance.

”I thought about it, didn’t they say that the wandering souls return once a month? If there’s real trouble, we could still come back today next month.” Bai Ruozhu said, feigning relaxation.

”I don’t mind, I’ll just treat it as a trip to the Immortal Land.” Ao Song also remarked.

Jiang Yichun reminded, ”In a month, your son will cry every day.”

Thinking of Little Dengdeng still in Xunyang City with Grandpa and Grandma, Bai Ruozhu decisively shut her mouth, she’d better return soon to accompany her son.

The surroundings were silent, yet without the mist from Cliff Village, though called ”Immortal Land”, it lacked the flavor of an ethereal realm as much as Cliff Village.

”How come this place feels a bit familiar?” Bai Ruozhu mumbled, she then found a Night Pearl to illuminate, to see more clearly.

”Did you guys notice how quiet it is? Not even the sound of bugs chirping?” Jiang Yichun asked sternly.

”We should be more cautious.” Ao Song said, casting a magic technique to form a defensive barrier in front of the three.

Her method resembled what Bai Ruozhu mentioned at the Astrology Tower, yet just a different Heart Method, the National Master was indeed from the Western Regions’ Zhong Family.

Thinking of the National Master, Bai Ruozhu sighed, yet unknowing they reached a turning point, as the three turned, she cried out.

”This, this is the Fang Family!”

”What Fang Family?” Ao Song was confused.

”It’s Fang Qing and the Luo Family’s home, I recognize this Main Gate.” Bai Ruozhu explained.

Jiang Yichun examined closely and agreed, ”That’s right, this is the Fang Family.”

Bai Ruozhu slapped her forehead, ”I just said it felt familiar, turns out it’s near the Fang Family.”

”You mean this is Xunyang City?” Ao Song asked.

”Just take a look around and we’ll know.” Bai Ruozhu urged Ao Song to quicken their pace, while Jiang Yichun hurried to keep up.

The three chose not to enter the Fang Family, who knows if these images were real or false. Even if real, no one wanted to unintentionally enter Luo Family’s dream.

Soon, the three walked out of the area and saw the City Gate, since it’s night, the gates were already closed.

”What’s your business?” The guard at the City Gate asked upon seeing the three.

”Brother, is this Xunyang City?” Ao Song rushed to inquire.

”Didn’t you see when you entered the city?” The guard looked at Ao Song like he was an idiot.

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun exchanged a glance, Jiang Yichun produced his Token, ”I have urgent matters outside the city, please open the City Gate.”

”S-sir, the Emperor’s expedition prohibits opening the City Gate at night recently.” The guard replied nervously.

If he immediately opened the gates, Jiang Yichun surely wouldn’t believe it, but the fear he showed seemed genuine.

Ao Song also produced a charm to cast a spell, the guard became even more frightened, yet Ao Song quickly put it away, looking towards Bai Ruozhu saying, ”It’s not an Illusory Realm, he’s fine.”

It truly was Xunyang City!

The three exchanged bewildered looks, what on earth was going on?

”You go ahead, it’s nothing.” Bai Ruozhu assured the guard who appeared tense, as she led Jiang Yichun and Ao Song away.

”Achun, did you feel that some of those ghosts looked familiar?” Once in a secluded spot, Bai Ruozhu asked quietly.

”It’s dark, I didn’t look closely.” Jiang Yichun replied honestly.

She sighed, she didn’t look closely either, pondering about the wandering souls felt eerie, hence not inspecting further.

”I suspect those wandering souls appearing in Cliff Village once lived near the Luo Family, dead citizens due to the Tu City massacre years ago. Think about the Cliff Village folks’ descriptions, they entered the mountains twenty years ago, around the same time as Ma Tongfang’s massacre.” Bai Ruozhu continued.

”Most were killed then, a few escaped to the deep mountains and reached Cliff Village. Likely aided by the Thousand-eyed Monster, otherwise, considering the village elder and others, not to mention Kuai Xian’s parents being children then, how could they climb the cliff?”

”No!” Jiang Yichun shook his head, ”They didn’t climb up.”

Ao Song widened his eyes, ”It’s just like us coming down from Cliff Village, they teleported directly to the cliff top, hence they assumed magical treasures of the Immortal Family belied the fairy who saved them!”

Bai Ruozhu also realized, initially hearing Kuai Xian mention her ancestors fled and climbed to Cliff Village, she assumed some survived the disaster and climbed to the cliff top. Forgetting about this long-range teleportation entrance.

”That Heavenly and Earthly Phenomenon is this teleportation entrance.” Bai Ruozhu said, ”Years ago, the Thousand-eyed Monster discovered this, saving Kuai Zheng and others, also appearing as a fairy, claiming to use Immortal Treasures to rescue them.”

”Back then, it was suspected the Luo Family may have resonated with some magnetic field, allowing so many dead souls to continue living, and could draw others into her dreams. Looking now, it’s the teleportation gate’s influence.” Jiang Yichun added.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”The Luo Family possessed Merfolk abilities, coinciding perfectly. Those souls probably know they’re dead but always believed they lived in the Immortal Land. We’ve noticed before, they only operated within this area couldn’t exit.”

”The Dream Demon must be the Thousand-eyed Monster’s subordinate, realising the Luo Family’s abilities, possibly sought them for a plot against the Emperor. It’s unclear whether capturing the Emperor was the Thousand-eyed Monster’s intention or if he acted under others’ orders.” Jiang Yichun said.

Ao Song suddenly laughed clutching his belly, ”Isn’t it ridiculous, those wandering souls think they’re in the Immortal Land, yet not is it their original abode? Those living believed they were saved by Immortal Family, blindly trusting demons and lived like slaves kept on the mountain.”

”Not funny, we may not find the way back, we’d have to climb the mountain again.” Bai Ruozhu said, holding her forehead.
