Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2862: Chapter 2863: Handling Trade Affairs

Bai Ruozhu finally remembered the matter of Prince Xi, feeling a bit guilty, and quickly followed along.

Physically, Prince Xi was very healthy, considered strong among children his age, which showed that Consort Le had taken good care of him.

”The curse has been lifted, you can rest easy now,” Ao Song said with a mischievous smile.

Upon hearing this, Consort Le’s eyes reddened, and she hugged Prince Xi tighter, ”Thank you, thank you so much!”

”Ouch, ouch!” Prince Xi, not understanding what was happening to his mother, complained with a frown.

Consort Le realized and quickly let him go, patting his head, ”Hurry and thank these uncles and aunts, they saved you.”

Prince Xi didn’t understand anything, but being an obedient child, he greeted and saluted clumsily, blurring out a ”Thank you” as taught by adults.

He looked like a little bun, his actions a bit clumsy, yet extremely adorable, making Ao Song burst into laughter.

Her laughter was light and crisp, like the sound of a silver bell, and everyone was infected by it, joining in the laughter.

Suddenly, Ao Song’s laughter abruptly stopped, and her body went limp and fell.

”Ao Song!” Bai Ruozhu called out, rushing to support her, but her body was stiff, her movements significantly slowed.

Luckily, Ao Song didn’t fall to the ground, as she was caught by a pair of strong arms—it was Sangta standing to one side.

At that moment, he looked very nervous but also a bit embarrassed, his entire body tense, unsure whether to hold her or not.

Yet he forgot, being clearly nervous revealed his true feelings, didn’t it?

Ning Yu came over to check, saying, ”She’s exhausted and needs a few days of rest.”

Bai Ruozhu looked at Sangta who was holding Ao Song, ”You should take Ao Song back to rest and help take care of her.”

”Oh, okay.” Sangta agreed, feeling unable to refuse Bai Ruozhu’s request, though a bit embarrassed this time, he didn’t mind.

”You too, make sure to rest well and recover quickly,” Sangta said with concern before carrying Ao Song away.

Consort Le initially wanted to let a maid assist, but after noticing Bai Ruozhu’s signal, she instantly understood and couldn’t help but giggle.

The next day, Ning Yu hurriedly left, after all, he had just married, how could he bear to leave his wife behind?

However, the Astrologer didn’t rush to leave, saying he would stay to help, and it wouldn’t matter if he returned later.

Bai Ruozhu also longed to return, but since Ao Song fainted to save her, how could she just leave her behind? Shortly after, the Emperor truly assigned her a task, so she couldn’t just ignore it and leave.

But now she couldn’t handle things personally, so she thought it over and called someone to find Uncle Zhang.

Currently, many of the Bai Family’s businesses were managed by Uncle Zhang, and Bai Ruozhu had given him some shares and business opportunities, yet she believed Uncle Zhang was capable and could advance further, perhaps even as an officer.

”Ruozhu, when did you return to the capital, why haven’t you come home?” Uncle Zhang was surprised to see her, thinking she went to the Palace to meet a noble, but didn’t expect it to be Bai Ruozhu.

”Some unexpected situations occurred, and I received a decree from His Majesty to return to the capital to oversee trade with the Barbarian Clan in the Western Regions,” Bai Ruozhu didn’t mention her near-death experience, thinking it was in the past and there was no need to worry her family.

Uncle Zhang smiled, ”This is a good thing, it seems the Emperor trusts your business skills.”

Bai Ruozhu also smiled, ”Uncle Zhang, this isn’t something I can accomplish alone, so I’d like to ask for your help, and the Imperial Court needs officials responsible for this area too.”
