Chapter 2876: Chapter 2877: I Let My Guard Down

”I won’t go back, don’t pull me, I managed to get out, I won’t go back even if I die!” Kuai Xian shouted loudly.

Ao Song glanced at her, ”Anyway, it’s inconvenient to take her, tie her up and leave someone to watch over her.”

”Okay.” Bai Ruozhu agreed and then told the dark guard left behind, ”Send a message back, we’ll return to the city later.”

”Yes, Master.” The dark guard responded.

The dark guard changed the ropes, and the others successively stepped onto the thin, white silk belt and ascended the cliff.

When it was the last person’s turn, Kuai Xian’s eyes flickered, she suddenly lunged towards the guard holding the belt.

”Careful!” The guard holding the belt was bumped, causing the belt he was holding to sway, shifting the weight of the guard walking on it along the cliff, falling towards the abyss below.

The astrologer was climbing on the cliff, both hands occupied, and the sudden situation left him no time to react; by the time he reached for his chest, the person had already disappeared out of sight.

”Wei Ba!” Jianqi shouted, starting to climb down the cliff, ”Master, I’ll go and take a look.”

The guard holding the belt regretted deeply, he turned angrily to find that Kuai Xian was already gone.

”Don’t look for her, she’s gone.” Bai Ruozhu squinted, ”This Miss has ill intentions, she’ll even harm others just to escape, send a message back, make sure the dark guard catches her, I want her to pay for Wei Ba’s life!”

”Yes.”

The astrologer’s face was livid with rage, ”What nonsense, I wouldn’t have wasted my Paper Crane saving her had I known.”

Thinking about Wei Ba who fell, everyone felt uneasy. This place was dangerous but not to the extent of losing one’s life; no one expected Kuai Xian to escape in such a manner.

”I was careless, should have knocked her out directly.” Bai Ruozhu confessed with regret, ”I hope Wei Ba is alright.”

”Should’ve just killed her, she’s annoying as soon as she opened her mouth.” Ao Song grumbled with annoyance.

Below, Jianqi sent a signal, Bai Ruozhu’s eyes brightened, ”It’s okay, the person is still alive.”

”That’s great.” Ao Song said happily.

Wei Jiu, who was holding the belt, breathed a huge sigh of relief, fortunately, Wei Ba was okay, otherwise he would never find peace in his lifetime.

Soon Jianqi brought Wei Ba up and said to Bai Ruozhu, ”Master, he threw a Hook Claw to reduce speed as he fell, just hit his head and fainted.”

”Take him to Cliff Village first, I’ll check him there.” Bai Ruozhu stretched out a hand but his unstable stance forced him to temporarily give up, it was truly inconvenient here.

”Wei Jiu, send a message back, make sure to capture Kuai Xian.” Bai Ruozhu commanded Wei Jiu again.

”Yes, Master.”

The party climbed up, Jianqi strapped Wei Ba to Ao Song’s back with a belt, without affecting his climbing.

Passing through the clouds, Ao Song turned to the astrologer, ”There must be a Magic Array here, otherwise signals wouldn’t fail to descend, I suspect the disappearance of the Dream Demon is related to Cliff Village.”

The astrologer nodded, ”Let’s be more cautious as we ascend, a small girl in their Village is this vicious, others may not be genuine and ordinary people either.”

The party climbed for a quarter of an hour, and indeed saw the village’s Main Gate, but the clouds obscured a clear view.

”Being at such a high position with clouds around, feels a bit like Yunxiang Immortal Palace, residing here must make them seem like Immortals.” Bai Ruozhu joked.

Everyone climbed onto the mountain top, crossed the village gate’s clouds, and finally saw the situation ahead clearly.

Many people came out from the village, but only one torch was lit, surrounded by darkness.

Despite the inadequate lighting, Bai Ruozhu clearly saw, the people here were all pale and thin, clothing torn, some even wore animal skin stitched garments directly.

In comparison, Kuai Xian still appeared in better shape, probably related to her being the Village Chief’s granddaughter.

”Honored guests, honored guests have arrived.” The white-haired elder hunched over and greeted Bai Ruozhu and the others, bowing, ”I am Kuai Zheng, the Village Chief here.”

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, ”You are Kuai Xian’s Grandpa, right?”

”Yes, Kuai Xian is my eldest granddaughter, where is she?” Kuai Zheng glanced behind them, not seeing Kuai Xian, immediately became anxious.

”She ran away, to escape, pushed my subordinate off a cliff, that’s murder, do you understand?” Bai Ruozhu said angrily, pointing at Wei Ba, ”Luckily we saved him, but look, hasn’t woken up till now.”

A gasp sounded around, promptly followed by a woman rushing over, grabbing Bai Ruozhu’s sleeve, asking, ”Is it really my Xianxian? How did she get down the mountain, she’s a girl, can’t possibly go down.”

Bai Ruozhu shook off her hand, ”If we hadn’t saved her, she’d be dead by falling, yet she repaid kindness with betrayal, almost killed my subordinate.”

Kuai Zheng observed Bai Ruozhu’s expression, then checked Wei Ba’s situation, believing Bai Ruozhu wouldn’t falsely accuse Kuai Xian, hurriedly pulled the woman aside, saying, ”That girl was eager to leave, told you countless times, not to talk about the outside, you just didn’t listen, now see what happened.”

The woman began to cry urgently, ”Let’s think of a way to find Xianxian, it’s not safe for a girl going outside.”

”If convenient, lend us two rooms to spend the night.” Bai Ruozhu glanced at the unconscious Wei Ba, truly didn’t want to just stand here.

”Stay at my house, I’ll apologize on behalf of my granddaughter, it’s my fault for not managing the younger generation well.” Kuai Zheng said bowing sincerely.

Bai Ruozhu’s face slightly eased, ”Much obliged.”

Soon Kuai Zheng led them to a Tree House, very simple, inside lacking blankets, only mattress made from dried grass.

Once Kuai Zheng left, Ao Song couldn’t help saying, ”I figured out why Kuai Xian wanted to escape, even Village Chief’s House is like this, what about others?”

Bai Ruozhu checked Wei Ba’s pulse, found he had merely bumped his head, nothing else. She then used needles to disperse blood congestion, and soon Wei Ba woke up.

”Where am I?” he asked somewhat dazed.

”Cliff Village, don’t say anything, just rest well.” Bai Ruozhu instructed.

”Okay.” Wei Ba replied and fell asleep again.

Ao Song gestured to Bai Ruozhu, whispered, ”Let’s scout, I took a glimpse earlier, this area is quite large.”

”Okay.” Bai Ruozhu called upon other dark guards to care for Wei Ba, taking Jianqi out only, while the astrologer followed behind.

Here at the mountain top, dense vegetation, but if no barriers, even attacks from the heavenly eagles would be tough to bear.

Bai Ruozhu and others walked a short while, seeing several people talking under a tree, quickly hid in the shadows.
