Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2783: Chapter 2784: The Tong Siblings

Chapter 2784

The young girl screamed, ”How dare you hit me? I won’t let you off!”

Her true colors were revealed as she bit her teeth and shouted, no longer showing the aggrieved look from before.

”You dropped the act so quickly? Those people haven’t gone far yet.” Bai Ruozhu laughed.

Someone heard the commotion and turned back, indeed seeing the young girl’s fierce expression.

No one would stand up for the girl anyway, so she couldn’t be bothered to pretend anymore. Pointing at Bai Ruozhu’s nose, she shouted, ”I remember you slapped me four times. I definitely won’t let you off. Just you wait!”

After saying that, she was about to leave with her maid, but Bai Ruozhu blocked them, ”You expect me to just wait because you tell me to? You think you can leave without paying me?”

”I have no money. Are you going to kill me?” The girl shamelessly resorted to being a rogue.

Bai Ruozhu held a dog in one arm and reached out with the other, easily taking all the hair ornaments from her head.

Without the hairpins to hold it, the girl’s hair suddenly fell loose.

Bai Ruozhu also took off her necklace with a smile, ”If you want these things back, have your family bring silver to exchange for them.”

”You, you’re robbing me! You’re just a stinky woman. So what if you started a charity clinic? Our family also distributes porridge, but sooner or later, my brother will shut down that fraudulent Medical Alliance of yours!” The girl shouted angrily.

”Alright, hurry up and leave, or I’ll reward you with two more slaps.” Bai Ruozhu said while raising her hand slightly.

The girl gritted her teeth and was dragged away by her maid, cursing as she left.

Meng Jinse shook her head, looking at her clothes with some sadness, ”How did we just bump into this kind of girl? Call her an aristocrat, and she doesn’t have any aristocratic decorum. Call her the daughter of an ordinary family, but look at her clothes and tone, she doesn’t seem like it.”

”She’s from the south.” Bai Ruozhu snorted, ”I can tell from her accent. She’s probably not been in the Capital City long and doesn’t know the height of the sky or the depth of the earth. So young and already so devious, it’s probably due to her family’s indulgence.”

The girl had not yet returned home when she saw her brother at the visitor’s entrance.

”Qianqian, why do you look like this? Up to mischief again?” Tong Zhengye’s eyelid twitched at the sight of the good girl with her hair all disheveled.

”Brother, I was beaten, and she even took my beaded ornaments, hitting me several times. You must help me vent this anger!” The girl began to cry.

Tong Zhengye laughed, ”Someone bullied you? I bet you stirred up trouble yourself, right? You’re the only girl in the family, and father and mother spoil you terribly. Do you think I don’t know your ways?”

Tong Qian’s expression changed slightly, her eyes darting around, and when she looked up again, she wore a look of grievance, ”Brother, this time I was really bullied. Xuexue accidentally tore a lady’s skirt; I was willing to pay, but they demanded two hundred taels of silver. How could I have that? They just hit me.”

”Your dog caused trouble, you have no money to compensate, so getting hit a few times is only fair. Do you really think I’ll back you up for this?” Tong Zhengye shook his head, ”Since childhood, how many times have you tricked me?”

This girl was too mischievous. He had often been tricked by her acting pitifully and got involved only to find out she was the one causing trouble. In the end, he lost face and had to apologize to the other party.

”But she took the agate necklace mother gave me.” Tong Qian began to cry again.

”What!” Tong Zhengye’s eyes widened, ”Why are you wearing that necklace outside?”

”Because it was a gift from the empress dowager, it’s meant to be worn often.” Tong Qian argued unreasonably.

Tong Zhengye rubbed his temples. He didn’t want to meddle in this, but he couldn’t let the agate necklace stay out there.

It was a gift given when Tong’s mother went to the Capital City to congratulate the empress dowager on her birthday. The empress dowager publicly rewarded her with the agate necklace, which was something the empress dowager used herself.

When nobles give their own personal items as gifts, it represents importance, and the gift has a very different significance.

Moreover, items bestowed by the empress dowager must not be sold or carelessly discarded; they cannot end up in the hands of others.

A few days earlier, he learned that his mother had given the agate necklace to Tong Qian, and he had worriedly reminded her that Tong Qian was too spoiled, her temperament unstable, and that it was too early to give it to her.

But Tong’s mother loved her daughter dearly, seeing her as lively and active and not thinking there was any major issue.

”Take me to find them. I’ll go apologize and get the agate necklace back.” Tong Zhengye first stated his position, so as not to be manipulated by his sister again.

Tong Qian wore a smug expression, ”Brother, what if they don’t return it? You can beat them up for me!”

Tong Zhengye made a stern face, ”Proper dialogue won’t get it back? Isn’t the other party a woman? You want me, a grown man, to hit women?”

”You don’t know how fierce that woman is and how skilled she is. Who knows, she might even bully you too.” Tong Qian said.

”Don’t try to provoke me with underhanded methods. Your tricks don’t work on me.” Tong Zhengye glared at her harshly.

Before long, following his sister’s directions, Tong Zhengye found the place, but Bai Ruozhu and her group had already left.

Tong Qian’s eyes darted, ”The woman’s skirt was torn; she will definitely return to Caiyi Pavilion for repairs. She must be there.”

”How do you know it’s Caiyi Pavilion?” Tong Zhengye became suspicious, ”Did you stir up trouble just because you didn’t like her clothes?”

”How could that be!” Tong Qian exclaimed, but she couldn’t hide it from Tong Zhengye’s eyes. He glared at her fiercely, ”Serves you right; they should have given you a few more slaps.”

”Are you even my real brother?” Tong Qian exclaimed.

In Caiyi Pavilion, Bai Ruozhu and Meng Jinse were indeed repairing the clothes. Meng Jinse had already changed into a new dress. Nearby, an embroiderer held the torn dress and said with some sadness, ”How did such a nice dress get like this?”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at the little dog in her arms and said, ”This little guy did it. Its owner let it cause trouble and has already run away, even abandoning the dog.”

Xuexue whimpered softly, thinking how when its owner left, they didn’t even look at it.

The embroiderer couldn’t help but laugh, ”This dog is even crying. It actually understands our words.”

Meng Jinse quite liked small animals and petted Xuexue’s head, saying, ”I think it’s not good for it to follow such an owner. Why not stay with us?”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”Let’s give it a name first. Seeing as it’s all white, let’s call it Xiaobai, to go along with Xiaohei.”

Pfft, Meng Jinse couldn’t help but laugh, ”I thought you’d come up with a nicer name. It’s not as good as Xuexue.”

Bai Ruozhu looked scornful, ”It’s obviously a male dog. Calling it Xuexue is too girly. Xiaobai fits, it’s so adorably dumb.”

The little dog howled, wondering if it could protest.

”Let go of my dog, you women!” Tong Qian’s voice suddenly rang out.
