Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2755: Chapter 2756: Return Journey

Gong Feng’s eyes showed some loss, ”The restaurant’s income, I send people to Zhongyuan every quarter.”

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”No need to be so diligent, once every six months to a year is fine, or you can bring silver to Zhongyuan yourself, but remember to write me a letter in advance, send it to the Commerce Association, otherwise you might not be able to find me.”

”I, I’ve noted it down,” Gong Feng said.

Bai Ruozhu turned and left, feeling a bit regretful, but knowing it’s best for both Gong Feng and Sibao.

...

”Yaxi, why haven’t you packed your luggage yet?” Yaxi’s mother entered the daughter’s room, finding the daughter hadn’t packed much for the journey, still sitting by the bedside lost in thought.

Yaxi looked up, ”Mother, I kind of don’t want to go.”

”Silly girl, your father and I just want to take you to Zhongyuan for a look, if you don’t want to go, then why are we going?” Yaxi’s mother reached out to help her tidy her hair bun, asking worriedly, ”What’s wrong?”

Yaxi bit her lip, taking a moment then saying, ”I might have been too self-centered, Tang Gongzi likes someone else, and it’s really bad for me to step in between them.”

”Did you find out clearly? What did Ruozhu say?” Yaxi’s mother asked.

Yaxi shook her head, ”I didn’t dare ask Sister Ruozhu, that girl is Sister Ruozhu’s maid, she treats her like a sister, asking would just make things difficult for Sister Ruozhu.”

”So you’re just giving up like this? Mother won’t make the decision for you, you must think clearly yourself, lest you regret it in the future,” Yaxi’s mother said.

Yaxi’s mind was a bit confused, taking a long time before saying, ”Let me think about it again.”

”All right, I’ll go busy myself,” Yaxi’s mother said with a smile, seemingly not very worried.

Yaxi’s mind grew increasingly chaotic, after a moment she stood up and had her maid pack some supplements, then took the horse carriage to the Posthouse.

She already knew about Fangzi being kidnapped, initially planned to visit Fangzi today, only worried about possibly encountering Tang Feng, she felt a bit anxious.

Luckily entering the Posthouse she didn’t run into Tang Feng, feeling relieved but also slightly disappointed.

”Tell me early, almost done and only then you inform me,” she said entering the room pretending to complain.

”Afraid to scare you,” Fangzi chuckled.

Yaxi greeted Bai Ruozhu, learning Song Yi and his wife had died, greatly sighing in relief.

”Hope no one raises Evil Poisonous Insects anymore, I really don’t want to see those things, they’re so disgusting,” Yaxi said.

”Shouldn’t happen anymore, don’t worry,” Bai Ruozhu patted her shoulder, ”How’s the packing going? In a couple of days, we’ll set off.”

Fangzi exclaimed, ”Ah, I’m so envious that Yaxi can go to Zhongyuan, I really want to go too, how can I bear you leaving?”

Bai Ruozhu laughed, ”In the future when the two countries trade, you can come if you have time, but next time bring your husband along.”

Fangzi blushed, ”What husband, it’s still early for me to get married.”

Seeing her so cheerful, Yaxi felt deeply envious, should she also put away those tumultuous feelings and treat it as a chance to go out, learn, and broaden her understanding?

”Yaxi, what are you daydreaming about?” Bai Ruozhu patted her hand.

Yaxi snapped back to reality, ”I was thinking about what gifts to bring, I can’t show up empty-handed if I meet your child, can I?”

Bai Ruozhu smiled, ”They’re in the Jiuli Clan, far from the Capital City, afraid you won’t be going.”

”It should be something for you to take to them,” Yaxi said with a smile.

The three chatted for a while, Fangzi needed to rest, so Yaxi got up to say goodbye, feeling much brighter at heart now.

At the courtyard, she saw Tang Feng and Mo Beishan sitting at the stone table having tea, she was startled, wanting to pretend not to see, but Tang Feng happened to glance over, their gazes met, she couldn’t pretend anymore.

She bowed slightly, ”Greetings to Lord Tang and Lord Mo.”

Tang Feng was surprised at her distant tone, lowered his head to take a sip of tea.

”Oh, it’s Miss Yaxi, we will be on the same route later, it’s going to be hard on you,” Mo Beishan said with a smile.

”I’ll be troubling Lord Mo,” Yaxi replied politely.

Mo Beishan with a smile asked, ”Miss Yaxi hasn’t gotten engaged yet?”

Yaxi was stunned, why was such a question being asked?

She blushed, not knowing how to respond for a moment.

Tang Feng glared at Mo Beishan, ”You get drunk even drinking tea? Why ask such questions to a young lady?”

Mo Beishan laughed out loud, ”Just a random question, random question.”

Feeling somewhat chaotic, Yaxi looked at Tang Feng for a moment, then saluted, ”I have matters at home, I must take my leave first.”

She left in a rush, Tang Feng watching her back, his mouth slightly curving.

”Sigh, being an official is boring, when we return I’ll resign from the Emperor, and return home to be my Wulin big bro,” Mo Beishan spoke quite leisurely, gaining a hint of a wandering hero’s curiosity.

”Then why did you go to serve the Emperor in the first place?” Tang Feng asked.

Mo Beishan shrugged, ”Got tired of the River Jiang, wanted to experience the intrigue of the Court, didn’t know it was all just running around in the River Jiang, going back there to get bullied by the Court, thinking about it, it’s boring, might as well forget it.”

”Thought you liked fame and wealth so you became an officer,” Tang Feng said.

”I’m not short of money, just wanted to see everything,” Mo Beishan slung his arm around Tang Feng’s shoulder, ”Then why did you compete to be the Champion? I don’t think you’re short on money or people.”

Tang Feng smiled, ”I just wanted to see if I could get first place, thinking about it now, it’s boring, I’m planning to resign and return to Jiangnan.”

”Ah? We’re resigning collectively? Wouldn’t this make the Emperor suspicious?” Mo Beishan muttered.

”You first, me after,” Tang Feng burst out laughing.

Bai Ruozhu watched Tang Feng from not far away, he truly let go, no longer pursuing imperial power and fame.

Every stage of life may have different pursuits, just like she once wanted her family to develop in Capital City, earning a fortune for the family.

But now she instead hopes for peace and quiet, also because she’s not short of money anymore, otherwise if survival was a problem, where would she find the leisure to enjoy such a simple life?

In the following days, everyone was preparing for the journey overseas; Bai Ruozhu was busy with Yizi and Fo Lanying, doing various shopping sprees, just the Sea Pearl jewelry alone bought a pile.

Fusang’s Sea Pearl carried a slight pink hue, glossy yet soft without losing brightness, although not many were large.

Bai Ruozhu simply bought two boxes of loose pearls, planning to design the styles herself back home and have craftsmen set them, they would be stunning then.

Additionally, she acquired a batch of smaller-sized ones, intending to use for Hua Xiangrong’s new collection, naturally becoming another significant income.

In a flash, the day for sailing arrived, the Emperor arranged for an official ship and personally saw them off, the scene was grand.

The public presumed the Emperor was sending off the Crown Prince, not knowing he was actually bidding farewell to the Zhongyuan envoys; without them, the Fusang Royal Family would have long fallen.

Luan Xin and Master Puru also arrived at the Pier, Luan Xin clasped hands in prayer, saying to Bai Ruozhu, ”May the benefactor sail with the wind, a few years later I will come to Zhongyuan to study.”
