Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2778: Chapter 2779: Blue Lamp and Ancient Buddha

Tang Yin looked at Jiang Yichun, ”You’re the princess’s godfather now, shouldn’t you have a meeting gift?”

”I didn’t prepare today, I’ll make up for it tomorrow,” Jiang Yichun said gloomily, he really didn’t have anything good with him.

Bai Ruozhu heard that the Emperor had already decided, so she had no choice but to take out a string of the largest and roundest Fusang Celestial Girl Sea Pearls from the Space, ”This is my meeting gift for the princess, wishing her to grow as beautiful as this pearl.”

”Sea Pearl, that’s a nice name,” said Le Pinsheng.

What, did she name it again? Bai Ruozhu was speechless, she wanted to keep a low profile and not enjoy these honors!

Soon the room was cleaned up, Tang Yin rushed into the room and grabbed Le Pinsheng’s hand to inquire.

Bai Ruozhu saw the washed clean princess, and couldn’t help but tease her with her fingers, daughters are the cutest of all.

That’s why many years later, the Bai Family’s few boys were especially fond of their sister, because they knew their mother favored daughters, and she was definitely the authority in the family,

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun stayed in the palace for two more hours, making sure Le Pinsheng was alright before leaving.

Once back at the Residence, Bai Ruozhu asked Yizi to bring the gift list, pointed at a few items, and said, ”This one, and this one, send them to my goddaughter when she has her third-day bath.”

Jiang Yichun chuckled, ”Anyone who didn’t know might think you agreed reluctantly, but you must be secretly pleased.”

Bai Ruozhu glared at him, ”Look how cute the little princess is, if you’re so capable, give me a daughter too.”

”Is having a child my responsibility?” Jiang Yichun looked aggrieved.

Bai Ruozhu slapped him, ”According to modern medicine, the sex of the child is really determined by the man, so it’s your fault for not having a daughter!”

”Okay, okay, my fault, I’ll start making amends today,” he said with a mischievous smile.

Bai Ruozhu’s face flushed red down to her neck, does this mean they’re going to start preparing for a baby?

After finish this period of work, she could indeed have another baby, but with all the travel and fatigue, she should adjust her condition for a while longer.

Besides, she was afraid, if she had another son, she would go crazy.

It was already late today, so the two stayed at the Residence, didn’t go out, and the next morning took a horse carriage out of the City to Jingxin Temple.

The mountain remained the same mountain, the Nunnery remained its original form, and on the mountain lay the bones of National Master Ning Ran.

Being a Nunnery, it was inconvenient for Jiang Yichun to enter, so he first went up the mountain to pay homage to the National Master.

The abbess who stole a man had already disappeared, Bai Ruozhu thought that with Meng Jinxiu’s cleverness, she would have quickly and deftly handled it, so there was no need to pursue it further.

Meng Jinse, dressed as a nun, sat in the corner of the Main Hall reciting scriptures, her whole demeanor very calm, the sunlight shining in through the hall door spilled over her, seemingly giving her a golden outline, adding a few degrees of sanctity.

But Bai Ruozhu felt heartache, such a young girl barely in her twenties, yet she’s gone through so much, is she really to spend a lifetime in the companionship of Buddha and oil lamps?

”Sister Ruozhu!” Meng Jinse noticed her, jumped up excitedly, adding some vitality to her presence, making her come alive.

Bai Ruozhu seemed to see years ago, that once noble and envied, not arrogant young girl in Beiyu City, she was just worn by time at the corners of her eyes, hiding a trace of despair.

”Jinse, are you okay?” She thought for a long time and could only squeeze out such a cliché phrase, she regretted saying it immediately, what did she want to hear?

Would hearing that all is well comfort her, hearing otherwise how should she respond?

Meng Jinse smiled, ”Far better than before, I’m quite content.”

Her past wasn’t the glory days in Beiyu City or the Capital, but the days of being imprisoned by King Rui.

”Yesterday we saw the Emperor, Le Pinsheng has given birth to a little princess,” Bai Ruozhu wanted to talk to her casually.

She smiled, lacking the sweetness of before, with more grandeur and composure, ”That’s great news, I’ll ask the monastery to chant sutras and pray for the little princess later.”

”We are leaving the Capital. This journey has taken a long while, our family has been longing for us. We requested an order from the Emperor, he wants us to escort you back to Beiyu,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Meng Jinse showed surprise, but quickly calmed down, she shook her head and chanted a Buddha mantra, ”I have already taken refuge in Buddhism, companions of oil lamps and Buddha, I don’t want to go anywhere.”

”Jinse!” Bai Ruozhu felt blocked in her heart, her voice involuntarily grew, startling nearby nuns conducting morning lessons.

Meng Jinse’s expression changed slightly, ”Let’s go talk in the backyard.”

She led, escorting Bai Ruozhu to the backyard.

”Ruozhu, just let my grandmother and father know I am well, tell them not to worry,” Meng Jinse said.

”No.” Bai Ruozhu said sternly, ”You should meet your family yourself, can my few words really reassure them? Your grandmother is old, the most she worries about is you, if you have any filial piety, you should accompany her and attend to her.”

”I am devoted to Buddhism, I believe they will understand,” Meng Jinse turned her head away, not daring to meet Bai Ruozhu’s eyes.

”If you are truly devoted to Buddhism, you can go back to the family temple to continue your chanting, having Buddha in your heart doesn’t depend on location, you are just avoiding, afraid to see them!” Bai Ruozhu cruelly pierced through, although harsh, it was necessary to wake Meng Jinse from her stupor.

”I...” Meng Jinse’s eyes brimmed with tears, ”Going back like this would just bring my father and grandmother shame, let my younger brother unable to hold his head up, it’s better to let the world think I am dead.”

”The past wasn’t your fault, moreover, you didn’t disgrace the Meng Family, when you attempted to assassinate King Rui, your grandmother felt pain but also pride, saying this is truly a Meng Family daughter. As for what outsiders say, does it have that much importance? If you really worry, return with another identity, effort in action is always better than endless evasion, you need a fresh start.”

Meng Jinse wasn’t Luan Xin, not born to dedicate her life to Buddhism, hers was a bitter escape, but she’s not even twenty, should life be buried here?

”Is it really possible?” Meng Jinse wavered.

Bai Ruozhu held her hand, ”It’s also the Emperor’s decree, you absolutely must not defy royal orders.”

Seeing Meng Jinse still hesitating, she simply grabbed her hand and said, ”We are eager to return home, leaving within two days, there are many things to prepare, don’t procrastinate, pack up and come back to Bai Residence with me, stay at Bai Residence these two days.”

”I, I haven’t told the nunnery yet, I should at least bid them farewell, right?” Meng Jinse said.

Bai Ruozhu thought for a moment and said, ”Then I’ll first go up the mountain to pay homage to National Master, you pack up, I’ll come fetch you later.”

”Alright.”

Bai Ruozhu left Jingxin Temple heading up the mountain, soon she saw Jiang Yichun standing in front of National Master’s grave in a daze, under the bright midday sun, his expression seemed a bit heavy.
