Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2763: Chapter 2764: Ferocious Achun

”How, how is this possible? Won’t the spiders die?” Fo Lanying asked in surprise.

”They are indeed dead, so my senior brother just said there is no breath of living beings,” Bai Ruozhu said, ”I once entered the center of the Jiuli Clan’s Trial Ground, where I saw a large number of very special mechanical puppets, which are said to be more advanced than those of the Jiuli Clan. So when I saw those spiders just now, I could tell they were mechanical puppets.”

”But they are somewhat different from the puppets near the center of the Jiuli Clan’s Trial Heart. I can’t quite pinpoint it, as I haven’t studied mechanical techniques much,” she added.

Fo Lanying became excited, ”If I get the chance to capture a spider for research, my mechanical techniques might advance further.”

Yuan Licheng doted on her greatly and immediately said, ”I’ll help you catch one.”

Fortunately, Fo Lanying knew her limits and hurriedly pulled him back, saying, ”Don’t go alone. Let’s wait until we encounter them again.”

The group continued to look around, but soon discovered this place resembled a maze, having wandered for quite a while yet unable to return to the starting point where they fell into the pool.

So, they decided to leave marks along the way and slowly find the correct route.

”Hey, I remember this spot. We just marked it, why isn’t it here?” Fo Lanying pointed at a seahorse-shaped sculpture.

”There might be more than one place with such sculptures, maybe this isn’t where we left our mark,” the Astrologer said.

Fo Lanying couldn’t be sure, so she left another mark, and the group continued wandering.

As time passed by, Bai Ruozhu became increasingly restless. It’s been so long, and she wondered how Achun was doing. If he was also looking for them, he could have found them by following the marks, rather than continuing to circle with them.

This suggests Achun might be in trouble.

She regretted letting him go in alone first. If she had been with him, she could at least have escaped into Space in case of danger.

”We’ve been going around this long, we could have at least circled twice, but we can’t see any marks, something’s not right,” Ning Yu said.

”Let’s turn back and see what’s going on,” Tang Feng proposed.

The group turned back, and they were stunned. The scene behind them had changed, definitely not the room, sculpture they had just walked through, and their marks were gone too.

”A shifting maze?” Tang Feng muttered.

Bai Ruozhu frowned, ”If this really is a shifting maze and we don’t understand the pattern, Achun might keep missing us, which is why we can’t find him.”

”Yes, maybe Ling Chen also can’t find the exit and can’t return to the boat,” Fo Lanying said.

Suddenly, the whole main hall was lit up brightly. There were candlelights before, but they were dimly glowing. However, this moment they shone frighteningly bright, as if preparing for a palace banquet.

The group huddled together defensively. Bai Ruozhu frowned, ”Did you hear anything?”

”No,” Ning Yu shook his head.

The others also pricked up their ears to listen but seemed to hear nothing.

”The sound is getting louder,” Bai Ruozhu’s good hearing picked up the sound growing louder, and soon others could hear it too.

”It’s singing!” Yuan Licheng exclaimed.

Sure enough, everyone heard clearly, it was intermittent singing, seemingly in a woman’s voice.

”Let’s follow the singing, there’s someone there,” the Astrologer suggested.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t move, her brows furrowed tightly, ”It’s the singing of the Merfolk. I’ve heard it in the Merfolk Clan, but it’s a very ancient song, I can’t understand what it’s singing.”

”Could it be Ling Chen singing?” Fo Lanying asked.

”It’s not her voice, and as far as I remember, she doesn’t sing this kind of song. It seems only Achun’s mother in the Merfolk Clan can sing it,” Bai Ruozhu said.

But Chushuang is on the boat, she wouldn’t come here to sing, and the voice sounds like a young woman, Chushuang’s voice is somewhat hoarse with a touch of age.

”Let’s follow the sound and check it out.” Bai Ruozhu didn’t feel good about it, but there was no other choice.

The group followed the sound, but seemed to keep taking detours, as if the singing came from the east, yet after walking a few steps eastward, it seemed to come from the west.

Fortunately, the singing never stopped. Although the group couldn’t find the direction for a long time, they gradually calmed down.

Finally, they were much closer to the singing, it was so loud, as if turning a corner would reveal the singing woman.

The group heightened their vigilance, unexpectedly water flowed underfoot, then suddenly turned into sharp spikes, viciously stabbing towards their soles.

”Careful!” Bai Ruozhu reacted swiftly, jumping up and pulling out a dagger to thrust it into the wall, hanging in mid-air.

Others hurriedly dodged. Tang Feng and Yuan Licheng had their shoes and hems pierced, but fortunately weren’t hurt.

”Who is it!” Fo Lanying shouted, tossing out two mechanical puppets. The little guys rushed forward swiftly.

Yuan Licheng sat down cross-legged, laying out formation stones.

But his formation stones were just laid out when a stream appeared out of nowhere, scooping them up and tossing them far away.

Bai Ruozhu watched all this, an ominous feeling in her heart grew stronger. This way of manipulating water was very similar to Achun!

The mechanical puppets hadn’t found anyone when a black silhouette charged out, attacking Yuan Licheng.

Yuan Licheng quickly dodged, his shoulder counter split open, causing a minor cut.

”Xiaoyuan, are you okay?” Fo Lanying quickly protected him, Yuan Licheng looking shocked, ”It’s Jiang, Jiang Lord!”

Bai Ruozhu pulled out the dagger and dashed forward, grabbing at Jiang Yichun’s shoulder, ”Achun, what’s wrong with you?”

”Get lost!” Jiang Yichun suddenly turned his head, his face contorted and twisted, raising his sword to slash at Bai Ruozhu.

Bai Ruozhu quickly dodged, Ning Yu released his magic technique, temporarily blocking him.

”Jiang Yichun, are you mad? She’s Ruozhu!” Ning Yu shouted loudly.

Jiang Yichun’s eyes were pitch-black, but devoid of any focus, brimming with an evil aura.

”Get him unconscious first, he’s being controlled by something.” Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth.

She herself couldn’t bear to do it, so she let the others handle it.

Before she finished speaking, Jiang Yichun already dodged. He already had the best martial arts skills, plus water manipulation and a reckless assault charged with evil Qi, instantly throwing everyone into chaos.

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth, flicked her finger, and poison powder was flung out.

Jiang Yichun’s eyes shot killing intent, seemingly wanting to kill her. In an instant, he abandoned everyone and rushed fiercely towards her.

”Ruozhu, watch out!” Tang Feng quickly reminded.

Bai Ruozhu activated her magic defenses, Jiang Yichun’s sword slammed into the defensive cover, bouncing off, and the protective shield shattered instantly.

He raised his sword to slash again; Bai Ruozhu hurriedly used her magic defense once more.

With a bang, his sword was repelled again, their defensive cover shattered, and a water arrow aimed at Bai Ruozhu’s throat flew over.
