Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2617: Chapter 2618: Without Losing a Single Soldier

Bai Ruozhu and the others are not afraid of confronting General Chisong’s men, but right now they don’t have an array, so they can only go on a killing spree. But wouldn’t that let Song Yi, who is hiding in the dark, have his way?

”You better leave quickly, don’t let them see you.” Yizi reminded from the side.

Xinye nodded, and retraced his steps to the small path, while Bai Ruozhu and the others found a less crowded place and climbed over the wall to exit the palace.

As expected, not long after they left, General Chisong arrived with his men, determined not to rest until they were captured.

Bai Ruozhu and the others couldn’t return to the posthouse, so they discussed it and decided to leave Kyoto, continuing to search the surrounding areas.

The opponent could send a fake signal to lure them back; if it wasn’t to buy time, it meant they were getting close to their target.

”I’ve thought about it, Song Yi won’t have too many helpers,” Jiang Yichun suddenly spoke, ”From what I gathered while interacting with him, he’s a very cautious person. Such people won’t have many helpers because adding one more person increases the risk of exposing their secret.”

”So I think he doesn’t have that many people working for him; he certainly can’t handle everything himself. Perhaps he just moved His Majesty to a place not far outside the city and then returned to the palace to continue plotting against us in secret,” Jiang Yichun continued.

Bai Ruozhu nodded as he listened; Achun’s analysis was not without reason.

”I have a vague feeling that it’s in that mountain area; let’s search carefully,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Just then, Jianqi joined them outside the city, bringing some newly made signal flares to Bai Ruozhu. This time they were a different color, and the sound of the signal was also different.

Everyone discussed it and still divided into three groups, with one group lurking nearby to monitor the situation and see if Chisong’s men would pursue them out of the city.

The other two groups, including Bai Ruozhu’s, went up the mountain to look for people, trying not to miss any corner.

By now, the sky had darkened. The group hadn’t slept all night and had been busy all day; everyone was exhausted, so Bai Ruozhu suggested each group have one person rest, taking turns to rest to avoid complete exhaustion.

Afterward, she and Jiang Yichun grouped together and headed up the mountain, assigned to the southern side.

”You should rest a bit too; don’t push yourself too hard.” Jiang Yichun said with concern, noticing the red veins in her eyes.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and took his hand, and in the next second, the two of them appeared in Space.

”A soak in the hot spring will help us recover,” Bai Ruozhu said as she undressed and stepped into the hot spring.

Jiang Yichun noticed how quickly she undressed and his body involuntarily started to heat up, but now wasn’t the time for intimacy. He forced himself to endure it and undressed to join her in the hot spring.

After soaking for a quarter of an hour, they both got out to get dressed. Suddenly, Bai Ruozhu heard some noise outside and quickly stopped Jiang Yichun, ”There’s someone outside!”

Jianqi had taken a team to search the northern side of the mountain, and Jianqi certainly wouldn’t lose his sense of direction, so it had to be someone else.

At this time of night, who would leave the city to come up the mountain without any reason?

Bai Ruozhu and Jiang Yichun both approached the ”big screen,” staring intently at the scene outside.

The sound of footsteps quietly rustled, and soon they saw someone dragging something as they walked ahead. Their footsteps were quiet, but because they were dragging something large, it made some noise.

The outside was too dark, the moonlight was dim, and Bai Ruozhu couldn’t see clearly what the person was dragging for a long time.

Until someone groaned in pain, Bai Ruozhu then discovered that the ”big thing” being dragged was actually a person!

”That looks like the official uniform of Ootani!” Jiang Yichun said.

Bai Ruozhu took a closer look at the clothes and figure; it really was Ootani!

”Let’s go rescue them,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Immediately, the two of them exited Space and swiftly rushed toward the figure ahead.

The two worked in perfect harmony: one went to strike the acupoint of the person dragging Ootani, while the other hurried to save Ootani, in case the other person resorted to killing Ootani in desperation.

The process went smoothly, but when they saw clearly who was dragging Ootani, they both froze in astonishment.

”Your Majesty!” Bai Ruozhu exclaimed.

Indeed, the one dragging Ootani was the Emperor himself. At this moment, he was immobilized by an acupoint strike. Jiang Yichun, wary of him calling for reinforcements, also struck his mute acupoint.

So now, he could only glare at the two of them with fierce eyes, as if he wished to skin them alive.

”Your Majesty, were you the one who plotted against Ootani?” Bai Ruozhu asked.

But clearly, the Emperor wasn’t going to give her an answer; he just wanted to kill her.

”I’ll dispel the poisonous insect from him first, you tend to Ootani’s injuries, and also send out a signal for the others,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Jiang Yichun knew some medical skills and immediately sent a signal while attending to Ootani.

Bai Ruozhu then struck the Emperor’s sleep acupoint, subsequently bringing him into Space, using Gold Body to expel the poisonous insect, and then letting Furball have a feast.

”Furball, go and check on whether Ootani has any poisonous insects,” Bai Ruozhu said.

She then took the Emperor out of Space, and Furball flew to Ootani’s forehead to inspect.

”There’s no poisonous insect,” Bai Ruozhu said. Furball sounded quite disappointed, and if Ootani knew, he’d likely be frustrated to death.

”Ootani is fine, just under the influence of mystical fragrance,” Jiang Yichun said.

Bai Ruozhu reached out to check Ootani’s pulse, ”Mystical fragrance can make someone faint for this long?”

”It was applied periodically,” Jiang Yichun shook his head. ”The Emperor must have been controlled, and when Ootani found him, he got too excited and thus was plotted against.”

Bai Ruozhu sighed, ”I didn’t expect it to be like this. I originally thought it was Song Yi or his subordinates who ambushed Ootani and captured His Majesty. I didn’t expect that it was the poisonous insect controlling someone to do all this. It also shows that as long as someone is controlled by the poisonous insect, too many things can be done without a single troop.”

Jiang Yichun also felt some regret, ”We underestimated Song Yi. We even tried to approach him; who knows if he had already plotted against us?”

Bai Ruozhu suddenly widened her eyes, ”No, when we go back, I’ll let Furball check everyone just in case.”

At this time, the cries from the foot of the mountain could be heard; Gao Zhou and Jianqi’s team had arrived.

”We found the Emperor and Ootani,” Bai Ruozhu said to the crowd.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief; the effort hadn’t been in vain.

Jiang Yichun unblocked the Emperor’s sleep acupoint, Bai Ruozhu helped lift the mystical fragrance from Ootani, and they both gradually awoke.

”What happened to me?” The Emperor asked, rubbing his temples.

Ootani, a bit panicked, cried out, ”Your Majesty, are you alright?”

The Emperor looked around in panic and asked, ”Where is this? Why aren’t we in the imperial palace?”

Everyone exchanged glances; he truly remembered nothing.

Ootani quickly explained it to him, and the Emperor listened in surprise. Ootani, somewhat disgruntled, said, ”I found His Majesty in the palace, and I was so happy at the time. But then His Majesty used mystical fragrance on me...”
