Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 2603: Chapter 2604: Farewell Forever

Bai Ruozhu just rushed over and heard Jiang Yichun call out ”Senior Brother,” which surprised her. Wasn’t Jiang Yichun’s senior brother Wei Guanyu supposed to have died early?

Back then, Wu Yunfeng had taken in three disciples; the eldest was Wei Guanyu, the second was Xu Huilin, and the third was Jiang Yichun.

Wu Yunfeng wanted his daughter to marry one of these disciples. While Wu Wanqing told Jiang Yichun that she liked him, she chose Wei Guanyu instead. This was quite an unpleasant matter for Jiang Yichun during his youth.

However, many things happened later, and Jiang Yichun and Bai Ruozhu gradually unraveled many mysteries, including that Wu Wanqing had once used a forgetfulness poison on Jiang Yichun.

And that Wei Guanyu didn’t die accidentally back then, but was killed by Wu Wanqing.

The reason Wu Wanqing didn’t choose to marry Jiang Yichun was mainly because of his family background. At that time, everyone was surprised by the rumors of Jiang Yichun’s biological father and grandfather’s concubine **** Jiang Yichun also bore a bad reputation.

On the other hand, Wei Guanyu was calm and steady; he was expected to take over Wu Yunfeng’s position in the future, so Wu Wanqing made a more practical choice by choosing him. But later, Wu Wanqing regretted it and wanted to be with Jiang Yichun, so she viciously killed her own husband.

But if Wei Guanyu had clearly died, how was he still alive, appearing in Fusang?

If he was sent by Wu Yunfeng, it seemed unlikely, as Wu Yunfeng already planted his own brother there; why place another man?

Besides, he had just clearly helped to attack Wu Yunfeng; otherwise, they couldn’t have captured Wu Yunfeng so smoothly.

Bai Ruozhu walked over openly and greeted, ”Ruozhu pays respect to Senior Brother.”

Wei Guanyu laughed, ”Not bad, you two are a perfect match.”

Bai Ruozhu glanced at him; his build was more robust than Jiang Yichun, and he was older. His face wasn’t particularly striking, but his eyes were extremely dark and bright. His smile was very candid, just from looking at his smile, one could guess his days were quite comfortable.

”I came to Fusang shortly after ’dying.’ You probably don’t know I was harmed by Wanqing?” Wei Guanyu said still smiling, clearly no longer concerned about it.

”We know it all, many things happened in between, I also know she used a forgetfulness poison on me, and later out of jealousy, she poisoned my two-year-old son.” Jiang Yichun spoke of the matter with some anger.

Wei Guanyu patted his shoulder, ”Turns out so much happened. I’ve been in Fusang all along, so I know little, only that you opposed Wu Yunfeng; you weren’t on his side.”

”Then why did you come here?” Bai Ruozhu was very curious.

This time, Wei Guanyu’s smile faded as he slowly explained, ”Back then, I was nearly killed by Wanqing, but fortunately, a nearby old doctor saved me. When I recovered, I wanted to return to tell Master and ask him to decide for me, but accidentally discovered Master’s dealings with Gufeng and Prince Duan. His ambition was great, like living with Prince Duan, planning rebellion, then becoming the supreme commander of Danliang. At that time, I hesitated whether to go back, but Wanqing returned to tell him the truth. He didn’t scold her even a bit and said dead was dead, also stating I knew too much and wouldn’t be kept around long.”

Jiang Yichun was furious, ”Which of us three brothers wasn’t used by him? You know he even forcibly cut off Huilin’s two arms to force him to reveal the secrets of City Master’s Meng!”

Wei Guanyu’s eyes also showed a hint of anger, ”So Huilin is...”

By this point, his eyes were somewhat red, a true emotional man.

”He survived but his arms couldn’t be saved. Later, I found Jiuli people to make mechanical arms for him; he was optimistic and didn’t sink into despair.” Bai Ruozhu also remarked with emotion.

Wei Guanyu cursed a few words, then continued, ”At that time, I felt unwilling and wanted revenge, but had no way to oppose them. Once they discovered I was alive, they would surely seek my life immediately. Later realized he planted his brother in Fusang, so I found means to come to Fusang, silently sabotaging Song Yi’s plans. After so many years, I also understood their intentions.”

”He plans to rule Danliang’s Imperial family and then help Song Yi control Fusang’s Royal Family, opening sea routes between the two countries later, then they would belong to the brothers. But he didn’t gain anything in Danliang and escaped to Fusang. He never knew of my existence, and I took opportunities to observe him for long periods.”

Wei Guanyu continued, ”I also found he imprisoned the princess of Danliang and the National Master’s disciple. I originally wanted to rescue them, but discovered Wu Yunfeng had placed poisonous insects in them. I can’t save poison victims; rash rescue would incite Wu Yunfeng to control the insects and harm them, so I could only stay hidden, luckily you guys came.”

”Then why didn’t you come to find me sooner?” Jiang Yichun asked somewhat resentfully.

Wei Guanyu chuckled twice, ”If you hadn’t discovered me, I wouldn’t have acknowledged you. The old Wei Guanyu died; I am now called Gao Qiaodan, just an ordinary Fusang farmer, married a gentle wife, and have kids running all over the place.”

Bai Ruozhu understood; if he recognized them, he would inevitably expose his whereabouts and his family; after all, the posthouse had many people and loose tongues. Having a family made him consider their safety, unwilling to involve them.

Anyway, the fact that he could help at such a critical moment today was already impressive.

Jiang Yichun understood, having a wife and children himself, hence he understood Wei Guanyu’s worries.

He patted Wei Guanyu’s shoulder, ”Senior Brother, thank you!”

Wei Guanyu laughed, ”No need to thank me; take care of Wu Yunfeng soon, don’t hold back, such a person can’t be kept around. Also, remember Song Yi; although he never used martial arts, I feel his skills are superb, be cautious. I won’t meddle in your affairs, I’ll go home and sleep holding my wife and kids.”

After saying this, he swaggered away. Jiang Yichun felt a bit reluctant, chasing two steps, ”Senior Brother, we’re leaving soon, where can I find you before we go?”

”Don’t come looking for me, my wife is an ordinary person, she would be scared. Since I’m no longer Wei Guanyu and you’ve captured Wu Yunfeng, I have nothing to worry about; it doesn’t matter if we meet or not.” Wei Guanyu said with a smile, ”Go back to your own lives.”

Watching him stride away, Jiang Yichun’s eyes still felt a bit warm, Bai Ruozhu held his hand, softly saying, ”Knowing he’s alive and living well is enough, let’s not disrupt his life.”

Jiang Yichun nodded, ”I understand, it’s just that meeting briefly and separating, it’s hard to believe we’d meet again in the future, and I feel somewhat emotional.”
