Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

As for Ye Jian’s military rank, Commander Xia didn’t give Major General Yang an accurate reply. He didn’t even reveal his stance.

It was only when Commander Xia contacted Mr. Fu later on that he explained why such arrangements were made.

”Little Ye is young. She can be a major even though she hasn’t even turned 22. Brother Fu, I’ve checked the information of the three armies. There has never been such a young major.

”Having outstanding ability is not always a good thing. If you improve too quickly, you’ll be envied and easily plotted against by despicable people. If you improve too slowly, you’ll feel wronged.

”After thinking about it, there’s only one way to solve the current problem. Let Little Ye lead a brand new female soldier company and place her personal results in a place where even the generals of the three armies can see them. That way, she won’t be criticized for her young age when we want to promote her military rank.

”It’s taboo for soldiers and politicians to be criticized, especially for children from families like ours. The children are clearly outstanding, but because of their families, their parents have no choice but to suffer grievances.

”Brother Fu, my son thinks that Little Ye has been wronged. As the commander-in-chief, I think so too. However, we have to look into the distance. It’s worth it to endure the small grievances for the sake of future development.”

If Commander Xia hadn’t explained it to Mr. Fu, Mr. Fu, who had spent his entire life developing missiles, wouldn’t have thought of this.

All he could think of was whether his daughter would be happy in the future and whether he could really let the Xia family take his precious daughter away.

He was only thinking about his daughter’s happiness.

As for her future development, it was not as important as her happiness.

Since he had an in-law who could pave the way for his daughter’s future, Mr. Fu was very happy. ”Commander, I just hope that Jian will be safe and happy in the future. I don’t dare to have too many requests.

”Now that you’re protecting her, I’ll thank you on behalf of Jian. I might be treating you too formally like this, but thank you, Commander.

”I can’t accompany Jian because of my work, and I can’t contact Jian all the time. With you taking care of her, I’m very at ease.

”As a father, I’ve never thought about Jian’s graduation or her future. Compared to you, I’m a very unqualified father. I owe my children too much.

Deep down, this guidance expert who dedicated his life to the development of missiles for the motherland’s navy, army and air force was filled with guilt.

Since ancient times, loyalty and filial piety had always been a point of conflict. For the sake of the country, countless people like Mr. Fu owed their families, parents, wives, and children.

They had no regrets toward the world and no regrets toward their country, only toward their families.

Commander Xia immediately said, ”Brother Fu, we’re family. I have the responsibility to take care of Jian. As her future father-in-law, I can’t shirk this responsibility.

”You can’t pay attention to Ye Jian because of your work. As for me, I have the responsibility to take care of Little Ye outside. What you’re doing is a long-term plan. You can’t afford to be distracted because of your children. If you do that, you’ll really be a sinner of the country.

”Brother Fu, you don’t have to worry about Jian. I treat Jian as my biological daughter. How can I let her suffer grievances?”

The conversation between the two fathers was for the sake of their children.

However, Commander Xia didn’t tell Mr. Fu about Ye Jian’s injuries. He didn’t want Mr. Fu, who was far away in the hinterland of the northwest, to worry.

Mr. Fu didn’t personally contact Ye Jian either. He understood from Commander Xia that Ye Jian was at ease and had a place to go after graduation. Ye Jian was very satisfied with the arrangements too. In order not to distract Ye Jian, Mr. Fu didn’t contact her.
