Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

He turned his head and asked Big Shark, ”How many soldiers does our country have in Yeni?”

Big Shark was stumped. ”I really don’t know. I’ll ask about it now.”

”Report, there’s a platoon of soldiers stationed in Yeni. There’s also a team of engineers who are maintaining the road, which is also a platoon of soldiers.”

The peacekeeping soldier who came in accurately reported the strength of the peacekeeping forces in Yeni.

Li Jinnian’s gaze flickered as he asked in a low voice, ”How many peacekeepers are there in Covil?”

”It’s the same as Yeni. There are two platoons of soldiers.”

There were a total of four platoons of soldiers, which was about 120 to 160 peacekeeping soldiers. There weren’t many soldiers, but they were enough to intimidate the other party.

Li Jinnian didn’t ask what the peacekeeping soldier came here to report. He had some clues now, so he needed to hurry up.

His gaze turned colder as he asked again, ”Have the NPFL militants ever negotiated with you?”

”It happened twice, but the government forces stopped them.”

”Do you know what they wanted to negotiate?”

Li Jinnian asked one question after another. The peacekeeping soldier quickly replied, ”The content wasn’t clear. Our soldiers don’t participate in the confrontation between other countries.”

Could it be that the NPFL militants who were exchanging fire with the government forces had kidnapped the Chinese expert to complete their negotiations with the Chinese peacekeeping forces?

This could barely explain why they wanted to hijack the Chinese. However, the root cause was still untenable. Li Jinnian felt that he had missed something.

While he was still deep in thought, the soldier had already told him why he was here.

Two boys ran outside the camp to ask the Chinese peacekeeping forces for help. They said that they saw a few Chinese people sitting in a military truck in Yeni.

They received the latest news. The missing Chinese expert, students, and interpreter appeared in Yeni at around 6:00 pm yesterday. They were sitting in a military truck, and the driver was an NPFL militant.

The clues were provided by two 16 or 17-year-old boys. They had escaped from Yeni to the town of Covil. They planned to walk to the capital city.

To be safe, Li Jinnian took out a few photos of unfamiliar faces and asked them to be shown to the boys. One of them recognized the interpreter, Yang Heng, and the other recognized the expert.

The two boys stayed in the Chinese engineering camp in the town of Covil. Firstly, it was to protect them. Secondly, it was to watch over them. This was because the two of them were the ones who spread the news. The soldiers would only know if the news was true after they went to check.

So far, the chaotic environment made the Storm Commando Brigade’s search very difficult. Whether the intel from the two boys was true or not, they had to go over because the boys had recognized the interpreter, Yang Heng, and Commissioner Miao.

Before setting off, Li Jinnian told the captain of the engineering soldiers in the construction camp that once the female soldier who came to support them arrived, she would have to go to Yeni immediately and equip herself with the wireless communication equipment. As long as she entered Yeni, they would be able to find each other’s location and contact one another.

Li Jinnian and the rest already knew that there was war in Yeni when they set off. It was a huge commotion, but they didn’t expect it to be a large-scale war when they were still 17 kilometers away from Yeni and hadn’t passed through the tropical rainforest. The water ghosts of the Storm Commando Brigade didn’t expect the chaos in Yeni to be a large-scale war.

The scout, Big Eel, used his binoculars to climb up the tree to see more clearly. He looked around before climbing down from the tree.
