Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Map?

Ye Jian thanked the soldier and immediately unzipped the side of the camouflage bag. She took out the map and laid it on her lap.

”The location marked with a red pen is near the island where the five of them disappeared. Our special forces soldiers found the missing ship, but they didn’t find any signs of fighting. The ship wasn’t destroyed either. The freshwater resources and food in the ship were all taken away. Even the fuel in the ship was taken away.

”With the missing ship as the center, the special forces soldiers expanded their search by five kilometers and found footprints. They weren’t messy, and there was no blood along the way. From the current situation, it can be judged that the safety of the five missing people is not a problem. The initial suspicion is that a crew member was bought off and hijacked the ship.”

If the person who hijacked the ship wanted to kill the hostages, he could’ve killed them directly when he hijacked the ship.

Ye Jian asked, ”Have they found the family of the crew member?”

”No, he doesn’t have any family,” the peacekeeping soldier said in a low voice. ”He’s a crew member of a nautical company. He has always been doing assignments for the local nautical company. Sometimes, our peacekeeping forces would invite him out to sea. There has never been a problem.”

At the mention of the crew member, the eyes of the peacekeeping soldiers turned cold.

”There are civilians protesting in front.” The peacekeeping soldier driving suddenly whispered. Before Ye Jian could react, the peacekeeping soldier turned his head and spoke to Ye Jian. His expression changed drastically. The car that was originally driving in a straight line quickly turned a corner and rushed into a secondary road where the houses on both sides were in ruins.

The speed of the car was very fast. The fallen bricks in front were crushed by the tires. There were gunshots from behind them. They had to leave the effective shooting range as soon as possible.

”Most of the protests in Libya are carried out by illegal militants. They gather these poor and suffering people. They give each of them five to ten dollars. In less than a day, they can organize hundreds of protests and use the people to pressure the parties. Sometimes, they even cause casualties.”

The peacekeeping soldier from the passenger seat said with a serious expression, ”Our first choice when we encounter a protest is to avoid it. We can’t have a direct confrontation with these people.

”At the end of last year, the engineers were building a road to the train station that was blown up. They were interfered with by illegal militants. Finally, they chose to abandon their car and leave.”

Speaking of the current situation in Libya, the two peacekeeping soldiers’ expressions were especially serious. As soldiers, they naturally knew the cruelty of war. However, before they became peacekeeping soldiers, they had always lived in a peaceful country. When they were in a war-torn country, they had a deeper understanding of the word ’peace’.

Peace… was not easy to come by!

Gunshots sounded from beside them. Ye Jian turned around and looked behind her. She saw the government forces in Libyan military uniforms holding shields and firing at the sky as a warning.

This was the capital airport of Libya and the most important transportation hub in the entire country. If even the airport was controlled by illegal militants, the country was not far from destruction.

The two peacekeeping soldiers heard the gunshots too. They sighed softly and smiled bitterly.

The presence of the peacekeeping forces was to reduce tension, control conflicts between armed groups, and stop armed conflicts. If it was a conflict between the government forces and the citizens of Libya, it would be difficult for the peacekeeping forces to mediate. Just like now, they could only avoid it.

This wasn’t the first time Ye Jian stood on the territory of a war-torn country. It wasn’t the first time she saw internal strife in a country either. Even though she had experienced it before, she still felt depressed when she faced it again.
