Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Most importantly, they had already taken a detour for half an hour just now. If they took another detour… Ye Jian pursed her lips with a serious expression. ”If we can’t reach before dark, let’s just walk. Do you think that’s okay?”

It was safer to walk at night. They could use the cover of the night to speed up their march.

However, it was a long drive. With the traffic in Libya, besides the obstacles on the road, the speed of the car couldn’t be fast. On the better sections of the road, they could go about 80 miles per hour, while on the bumpy sections, they could only go about 30 to 40 miles per hour. Even so, they could still drive about 50 kilometers per hour.

It would take a long time to walk 50 kilometers.

Even so, it was the best choice so far. But there were bolder choices.

The older peacekeeping soldier said in a low voice, ”If we really encounter anything, we can abandon the car then. It’ll take too long to walk. The special forces soldiers can wait, but the five missing people might not be able to.”

That was the crux of the problem. Ye Jian didn’t even think before nodding in agreement.

Ye Jian added, ”I’ve undergone driving training at night. I can drive at night. Or I can start driving now. It’s just that I might be a little fast.”

After all, the two peacekeeping soldiers had picked up a female soldier from the special forces.

”Let’s go around this area and go out of the sight of the government forces. Then, you’ll drive.” The older peacekeeping soldier didn’t think too much about it and agreed with Ye Jian’s suggestion.

The young soldier nodded and replied softly, ”Alright.”

The car started moving again. During the detour, Ye Jian and the two peacekeeping soldiers would chat from time to time. They didn’t panic because of this.

Transportation in Libya was inconvenient to begin with. The civil war caused traffic explosions and destruction. There were only a few roads that could be used by cars. There were not many choices.

After driving around for about three kilometers, they parked the car. The peacekeeping soldier who was driving got down and sat in the back. Ye Jian got into the car and thought for a few seconds. She said to the young peacekeeping soldier who was still sitting in the front passenger seat, ”Sit in the back. It’s safer in the back.”

The car would go fast, and Ye Jian was unfamiliar with the road conditions. The front passenger seat was the most dangerous position.

The young soldier didn’t ask for the reason. He immediately unbuckled the safety belt and got out of the car. Ye Jian started the car and said, ”To be safe, put on your seat belts.”

The younger peacekeeping soldier had already sat at the back. He exchanged glances with the older peacekeeping soldier. At the same time, they buckled their seat belts. Ye Jian had already stepped on the accelerator. Just like what she said, she was a little fast.

After driving the car for about ten minutes, the speed of the car could no longer be said to just be a little fast. Instead, it was quite fast. At this moment, the two peacekeeping soldiers finally understood why they were asked to sit in the back and why they had to fasten their seat belts.

This speed… If they could drive at 40 miles per hour, the female soldier could drive at 80 miles per hour. If they could drive at 80 miles per hour, the female soldier would be able to drive at 120 miles per hour. It was like she was driving on a highway back in their country!

Fortunately, they were able to withstand it. Even though they bumped into the roof of the car from time to time and their stomachs were churning, the two soldiers sitting at the back persevered. They didn’t let Ye Jian stop the car because of this.

They knew that only by accelerating could they reach the town of Covil according to their original plan.

Ye Jian sped all the way, but the situation on Li Jinnian’s side was not good. The militants under the NPFL started another war in a small coastal city to the north of the town.
