Three Towers Game

Liu Jinsen was still running around trying to help.

But with Three Towers Academy currently in lockdown, he couldn’t get into the academy, so naturally, he couldn’t contact Albert Napolitano.

This legend in the human world was always busy with his own matters, rarely seen by others.

Usually, when he appeared, it was because he needed something and would directly show up at high-level places or at the homes of important figures.

Finding Albert Napolitano could indeed help Wen Xishu get rid of the Security Bureau’s harassment.

But the question was—how to find him?

Within these few hours, Liu Jinsen first went to the academy, but he couldn’t get in.

So he thought of visiting the Xun Family, the noble family filled with heroes, in the bunker.

Finding Napolitano’s prized disciple Xun Hui might allow him to contact Napolitano.

Liu Jinsen couldn’t see Xun Hui, but with the help of the Xun Family, he managed to get through to Xun Hui on the phone.

On the phone, Liu Jinsen briefly and clearly explained everything.

Xun Hui only said one sentence, ”You don’t need to worry about this,” and hung up the call.

Of course, Liu Jinsen couldn’t just not worry about it.

Although Xun Hui was the top of the Slaughter Tower Celestial Ladder, after all, he only said one sentence without providing any other information.

He also didn’t know whether Xun Hui was willing to help.

Division Two had their own motives for helping Wen Xishu, but Liu Jinsen’s intentions were pure. He simply hoped that those who contributed to the bunker could survive.

At least in his eyes, Wen Xishu’s crimes didn’t warrant death, and killing someone who had made contributions was a desecration of the bunker’s law.

So Liu Jinsen was still running around, heading towards the Wenren Family.

...

...

Three Towers Academy.

In a park of the Desire Tower Academy, an elder and a young man were playing chess.

There was no one around watching.

To enter the Desire Tower Academy, a few had exceptional innate conditions, but most had a strong family background.

Yet even in this academy filled with nobles and rich people, no one dared to disturb these two playing chess.

A notification had gone out in the afternoon that the park area should not be approached recently.

”Your chess skills have improved, Mirror.”

”You flatter me, teacher. A few days ago, I encountered a very abstract player in the Desire Tower. He was extraordinarily gifted, but too early he faced a supercomputing AI, breaking his spirit. I learned from him, thinking it would help me play with you longer.”

”You, you just love the knowledge in the Three Towers. If you keep learning, I won’t be your match for long, hahaha...”

The elder laughed heartily. Though he was ninety-one, he looked no more than fifty. His head full of white hair didn’t make him look old, thanks to his form, complexion, and muscles, which didn’t appear to belong to someone over sixty.

The one playing chess with him was the pride of the entire bunker, the white knight in the hearts of countless women in the Civil Affairs Bureau—

Wenren Mirror, the current top of the Desire Tower.

He could also be called the bunker’s heartthrob.

His family background and personal talent were impeccable.

But Wenren Mirror was very respectful to the elder, sincerely so.

Because the elder was one of the living legends of the bunker, Albert Napolitano.

The principal of Three Towers Academy.

”But you didn’t come to see me today just for this, did you? You and Xun Hui are secretly competing against each other. If he isn’t slacking off, where did you find the time to play chess with me?”

Wenren Mirror smiled:

”Teacher, I won’t hide it from you. Today, in the second layer of the bunker, a level-six building appeared.”

Albert was not surprised, and Wenren Mirror was not surprised by his lack of surprise.

”A good thing. Our school lacks a medical facility, and I actually want to bring that building here.”

”But those people down there are suffering. One Security Bureau and one Civil Affairs Bureau are already too much; we shouldn’t add to their burden. You should focus on getting more level-six buildings for our school.”

He said it casually as if level-six buildings were easy to come by.

Of course, even for this legend, to bring back a level-six building required some luck.

But they could indeed do it.

If they said such words, no one would doubt them.

Wenren Mirror suddenly asked:

”Do you think he relies on his own abilities?”

Albert smiled. It was rare to see this child lose his composure. It seemed he still couldn’t let go of certain things.

The old principal said:

”I read a book, and the protagonist loved to emphasize that he was powerful because of his effort. Then... every time he encountered danger, he would shout for a system upgrade.”

”Hey, you can’t deny, some of these bunker writers’ stories are pretty gripping.”

”Many people say relying on external aids is no real skill. But if those aids chose him and he utilized them well, how is that not skill?”

”So people often don’t understand one thing.”

”The same thing that others have but you don’t, you often think, if only I had it, I could do it too.”

”But if it really came to you, you might not survive.”

Wenren Mirror nodded thoughtfully.

Albert asked:

”What, even a genius like you thinks the first exploration of the Deceit Tower had incredibly sensational results?”

Wenren Mirror shook his head:

”It’s just a coincidence. I always considered Chaohua...

He paused slightly:

”Considered Wen Chaohua a good friend. He suddenly did something bizarre, and the entire Wen Family acted bizarrely, and then... his long-mad brother was no longer mad.”

”And even became a genius. It’s too much of a coincidence.”

In referring to a certain person, Wenren Mirror added an extra word to create some distance and make his stance clear.

People naturally have and must have stances.

Yet deep down, Wenren Mirror still occasionally missed the times when the three of them dominated the Three Towers and became legends of the bunker.

Albert said:

”Indeed a coincidence. If you have doubts and I have doubts, it’s simple. I’ll personally go check on him.”

Wenren Mirror said:

”Do you want him to join Desire Tower Academy?”

Albert shook his head:

”Not decided yet. I’ll decide after I meet the boy.”

Then, Albert added:

”You should now focus on reaching higher levels. Even if the boy is truly a genius or an ’heir,’ he has a long, long way to go to catch up to you all.”

Wenren Mirror understood the meaning.

No matter what, the foundational mechanisms of the Three Towers were there: Anti-Magic Value, Luck Value, Slaughter Value. Without improving these, even an impressive first climb meant little.

Wen Xishu’s journey had only taken its first step.

Wenren Mirror said:

”Yes, I’ve recently joined a... quite tricky serial mission. There are many disruptors, and even the mission goal might have become a disruptor.”

”I’ll likely be gone for a while. Please investigate Wen Chaohua’s matter for me, teacher.”

Albert nodded and waved his hand:

”Then let’s call it a day. We can play chess another time. I need to see that child too. It’s getting late.”

Wenren Mirror stood up, bowing to Albert:

”Thank you, teacher. My stance is clear. I can’t speak for Wen Chaohua. Even if it’s just the Desire Tower... forget it. His crimes are too severe. I don’t intend to speak for him.”

”No matter how good our previous friendship was... I must discern right from wrong.”

”I’m not biased toward his brother either, but I think... there are still questions in this matter. Even if we’re going to execute someone, we must precisely determine the matter first.”

”And besides, his brother did change many people’s fates, including some Three Towers students. If this epidemic can be extinguished...”

Albert laughed heartily:

”Alright, go do what you need to do. Leave this matter to me.”

”Just in time, I want to inspect how secure the Security Bureau really is.”
