Three Towers Game

Chapter 14: Chapter 10: The Desire Tower of Love

Humanity has entered the bunker for only a few decades.

The elders in the bunker still remember the world where humans once lived and have told the young generation about the world with the sky and the sea.

But people cannot imagine things they have never seen before.

Only when entering the Desire Tower, at the moment they look up, can they feel the vastness of the starry sea.

But this is not why people love the Desire Tower.

People love the Desire Tower because of the bloody brutality of the Slaughter Tower and the terror and eeriness of the Deceit Tower, making the pursuit of desire in the Desire Tower... extremely gentle.

In this place, there is no need for fighting and killing, nor are there any strange rules. As long as those pursuing desire feel happy, they can acquire certain survival resources.

Upon first entering the Desire Tower, Wen Xishu saw a special dialogue box.

[Welcome to the 21st floor of the Desire Tower, location Mo’en City. The Desire Tower is a place of love. Please climb this tower with love and responsibility.]

How loving, how warm, the style is completely different from the other two towers.

However, Wen Xishu did not know that the complete rule was like this—

[Welcome to the 21st floor of the Desire Tower, location Mo’en City. All violent behaviors are prohibited in the Desire Tower. The Desire Tower is a place of love. Please climb this tower with love and responsibility.]

The rule of prohibiting all violent behaviors did not apply to Wen Xishu; even the prompt was erased.

To be precise, it was erased by the Chaos Dice. Wen Xishu was unaware of this.

What appeared before his eyes was a bustling city.

Tall buildings, well-dressed people on the streets, delicate cream cakes in the windows of food stores, dazzling billboards, and the smell of women’s perfume.

All of this made Wen Xishu feel very familiar, as if returning to the world before he crossed over.

But this world is not completely real.

For instance, the boundaries of the area constructed by red lines in the distance, or rather, air walls, and the information in Wen Xishu’s eyes:

[Current Happiness of Jennifer: 0. Task Status: Incomplete.]

[Remaining time: 47 hours 54 minutes 16 seconds.]

This information dragged him out of the haze of returning to the original world and gave him a sense of urgency due to the time shortage.

Normal Tower Climbers would have seven days, but Wen Xishu entered the Desire Tower through an invitation letter, having only two days.

He must find clues to unlock the hidden content of the Deceit Tower in a very short time and make Jennifer happy.

There are many ways to make someone happy.

People have decades of experience climbing the Desire Tower. Earning money in this world to provide material value or adding emotional value.

In the early years, when the qualification to enter the Desire Tower was very lenient, some people lacking emotional intelligence died in the Desire Tower.

And a few geniuses who could say things like ”Master Ni attack” or ”Xuanxuan, I’m going all out for you” also died in the Desire Tower.

Fortunately, such situations were gradually decreasing.

The qualifications of those entering the Desire Tower were getting comprehensively higher, becoming more competitive.

Their ways of pleasing people were increasing, including but not limited to ”How to Quickly Move the Relationship to Revealing Weaknesses.”

Nowadays, the survival rate in the Desire Tower is almost 100%.

But that’s for the floors below twenty. Above the twentieth floor, the difficulty rises crazily, and the conditions become increasingly harsh.

However, for the vast majority of people, the explorations of the first twenty floors are enough to cover their entire lives.

Wen Xishu was on the 21st floor; he could already feel the real difficulty of pleasing Jennifer.

Walking on the road to the slums, Wen Xishu was thinking about what to do next.

Making Jennifer happy is very easy.

Whether coaxing Jennifer or courting Yulia, he could easily complete the task.

But ultimately, it would only be at the lowest completion level, taking the food for ”a family of three.”

That’s not what Wen Xishu wanted.

”The biggest difficulty of this task is that, no matter what, Jennifer’s happiness will be wiped out.”

”Because soon, Jennifer will encounter a catastrophe; all the current happiness will only highlight the subsequent misery.”

”All of this stems from Jack.”

Wen Xishu was not a saint; he certainly thought about killing Jack in the Desire Tower.

If there were no Jack, then soon, in that old building, all of Jennifer’s connections would survive.

But killing Jack might be the wrong choice.

Jennifer treasures Jack deeply in her heart; killing Jack would only make the girl suffer immensely.

The most critical point is that Deceit Jack indeed has a necessary existence.

Wen Xishu still remembered Jack’s words to Jennifer—

”Can you handle the outside world alone? This is just the beginning.”

Outside the old building, it will only be more dangerous. Jack was merely the boss of a certain area on the 21st floor.

There are countless similar existences in the Deceit Tower.

”To survive in that world, Jennifer needs a powerful backer.”

”And it’s worth noting that I saw two Jennifers in the game prompt.”

”Desire Jennifer, Deceit Jennifer.”

”If the two Jennifers are the same person... then why deliberately distinguish them?”

”Is it merely because one Jennifer is in the Deceit Tower, while the other is in the Desire Tower?”

Wen Xishu slightly shook his head.

”The designer of the Three Towers game must be quite stupid to come up with such a redundant setting.”

”Assuming there are other reasons—then Desire Jennifer turning into Deceit Jennifer must undergo a certain process.”

”Similarly, Jack too.”

Intuition told Wen Xishu that the prefix difference in Jennifer’s name was an extremely crucial clue.

”In the Desire Tower, Jack thought he would die because he had stomach cancer.”

”But in the Deceit Tower, not only did he survive, but after experiencing a day of despair, he even became Deceit Jack.”

Walking on the street, Wen Xishu suddenly paused for a second; he felt he was about to find the key.

”First, experiencing betrayal by colleagues, deceit by friends, and loathing by the one he adored, then becoming ten times stronger and killing everyone—this delight is simply unreasonable.”

”If the world were so subjective, wouldn’t it become a contest of who has the most hardships?”

In this crazy world, people rarely think about why the world became like this.

Most people are still adapting and surviving.

Wen Xishu too was adapting. But he felt the appearance of the Deceit Tower and Jack’s transformation needed a reason.

Only by investigating this reason could he decide what to do next.

...

...

Half an hour later, Wen Xishu arrived in the slums.

Living in Chongqing, Wen Xishu always felt that the online world was like a peacock spreading its tail.

Behind the beautiful feathers was a completely different scene.

It was like riding a subway through buildings; on the left were modern attractions where internet celebrities were eagerly taking photos, while on the right were dilapidated buildings reminiscent of the last century.

Sure, you could say it has an old Chongqing vibe, it’s nostalgic.

But that’s a superior stance. When that old vibe envelops you, all you want is to escape.

Mo’en City was the same; its bustling CBD district was intoxicating, but it also had impoverished areas.

Wen Xishu was at the entrance of the old building.

In the Desire Tower World, this building had nothing peculiar about it. It looked like a huge, dust-filled decaying tomb.

At this moment, Jack had just returned to his room, preparing to write something to express his desire to be a good person in his last days.

By observing the medical record in Jack’s hand, Wen Xishu deduced the timeline:

”Next, Jack would go to apologize to Remian but soon find out Remian hadn’t changed his nature.”

”Afterward, he would experience the truth bomb from his good friend Anderson.”

”Finally, he would beg Yulia to let Jennifer watch his performance, but it would also fail.”

”Is it the special effect of the invitation letter? This is really a... pivotal moment that can change everything.”
