Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 537: Chapter 511: Playing Little Tricks

Despite feeling like complaining inside, Yu Minglang still wholeheartedly pampers his wife.

”Qian, do you want buns or rice? What should I buy back for dinner?”

”Are those long arms only for causing trouble? Why can’t you make it yourself...”

Even with her eyes closed, she can order him around so effortlessly. Seeing her bossy yet lazy demeanor, Yu Minglang feels amused and charmed, thinking his beautiful darling is never enough to watch, looking cute even with her eyes closed, and wanting to reach out for a touch.

”If you cook something I don’t like, I’ll punish you by making you sleep on the floor tonight. Now, scram, scram, get moving!”

Yu Minglang leaves in silent resentment.

Being punished to sleep on the floor is such a loss, but fine, as a manly man, he’ll tolerate this little grievance...

Qian could feel his strong presence even with her eyes closed. She opened her eyes, half-squinting at him, and Yu Minglang immediately collected the chaos in his thoughts, displaying a particularly gentle expression.

”Your servant obeys your decree, Great Empress, please continue to rest. Your servant will buy groceries, cook, and call you for dinner —” Yu Minglang dodged the pillow she threw at him, humming a tune as he went out.

The car is still parked at Zheng Xu’s place; he has to drive it back, then buy groceries and cook for his Empress.

Before bed, Qian doesn’t forget to complain about him, ”What Great Empress, comparing me to Wu Zetian...”

Even if she really were a female emperor, she wouldn’t keep a man like this around. Is he serving her, or is she serving him?

Qian slept very well, only to be awakened by the aroma of food.

Yawning and following the scent downstairs, Yu Minglang was cooking boiled fish, with the fragrance of peppers filling the room.

Qian followed the aroma.

”Smells so good~”

He used one hand to scoop out the fish fillets and the other to pull her over to taste what he had already made.

As expected, it tasted great.

Men who can cook are like gods, and ever since Yu Minglang found a kitchen klutz as his girlfriend, his cooking skills have upgraded from simple fried eggs to mastering complex dishes.

With one hand holding the pot, he poured scorching oil over the prepared Sichuan peppers and chili peppers, the sound sizzling accompanied by an instant explosion of aroma, leaning casually together—it felt like home.

Perhaps because they’ve had too little time alone, even brief moments of domestic tranquility feel especially nice, and Qian eats more than usual.

Yu Minglang props his chin as he watches her elegantly eat, ”I think if I were home often, you might gain weight like Aunt.”

Qian’s hand holding the chopsticks hesitated, and Yu Minglang hadn’t realized he had stepped into a hornet’s nest yet, continuing to praise Jia Xiufang as if complimenting.

”A bit of weight at a certain age is nice, I think Aunt looks more affluent than my mom. When you’re at that age, let you gain some weight for a better feel.”

Qian suddenly lost her appetite.

She put down the bowl, looked at him expressionlessly, and, considering getting angry at this oblivious man was a waste of life, silently envisaged Yu Minglang decades later with a beer belly and bald head, and then comfortably continued eating!

”From now on, cook two portions, you eat lard rice, and I’ll have whole grains, then eat more testosterone-boosting foods.”

Confused, Yu Minglang flexed his arm, showing evident muscles.

”Are you planning strength training for me?” He thought his strength was good, able to carry her around.

”No, it’s that this could help you grow a beer belly and go bald for a better feel.” She gestured a pat on his head; when she saw him in a past life, he was middle-aged, not much different from now.

Thus, this malicious thought was limited to imagining only; he guessed he’d grow older without looking old like Mr. Yu.

”...You’re too wicked.”

”And making me gain weight to 140 isn’t wicked?!”

”Alright, alright, just a little bit of weight is fine, come on, have a piece of pork!”

He kindly put a piece of meat on Qian’s plate.

Only then did Qian continue eating contentedly.

”Eat until you’re chubby, chubby like a panda is precious.”

”You, go, away!”

These days, why is being a good man so hard? Yu Minglang ended up being punished to wash the dishes, yet he still didn’t understand—what exactly did he say wrong?

After eating she felt too lazy to move, so simply snuggling up at home with Yu Minglang for some chess.

Yu Minglang actually doesn’t want to play chess; he prefers discussing from poetry to philosophy—to how life comes into being.

However, Mei’s influence at home is too strong, so this idea was just a fleeting thought, and soon he came up with a good idea.

Qian set up the chessboard but saw Yu Minglang still hadn’t moved.

”What’s wrong?”
