Qian nodded, ”Just as we assumed, once her original personality woke up, the gentle second personality disappeared. She doesn’t remember the last few years but vaguely feels familiar with me.”

”After emotional guidance, formal treatment will commence. Once treatment is concluded, we’ll figure out how to awaken her second personality or merge the two together; that’s the best outcome,” Mr. Liu said.

Qian shook her head.

”Don’t merge them, I hope this personality disappears.”

”Why? Our previous discussion concluded that if suppressed and then later awakened, it would be impossible to suppress again. I recall you agreeing with my viewpoint,” Mr. Liu asked Qian.

”I agree with your viewpoint; our goal is to suppress her current personality, but our intentions differ, and so do our approaches. You press directly; I release and let her complete what she needs to do before suppressing it again. This way, she won’t have regrets, and in the future, whether she remembers or not won’t matter. Because with my method, even if one day her two personalities merge, she will be able to adapt to her current life and live bravely.”

”Oh? I don’t have that kind of confidence. Where do you get your confidence from?”

”I don’t charge 50,000 an hour for nothing; without genuine skill, would I dare to be this carefree?” Qian muttered quietly.

”What did you say?”

”I was saying that each person’s psychological endurance varies, and for some, forgetting might be the only relief. If her two personalities merge, it wouldn’t be fair to her current husband.”

”Initially, I also diagnosed personality suppression after studying her character; what you said might be correct: allowing her to complete what she wants to do and return to her own life without distraction. What’s your plan next?”

Qian didn’t answer the teacher but instead looked at Mr. Liu.

”I need your cooperation. If possible, I would like to meet your General Manager.”

”You want to see Minglang?”

Qian said seriously, ”I am working. Let’s not discuss personal feelings.”

”Oh, the General Manager position has changed; I’ll have the new General Manager contact you.”

”Wait, what about Yu Minglang?”

”The latest group directive promoted him to Vice President.”

Above Vice President is the Executive Vice President, just a step away.

”Alright, please have your Vice President contact me. I need his cooperation.”

”...” Not discussing personal feelings indeed! Yet wanting to see Yu Minglang!

But nobody exposed Qian’s little wish; meeting wasn’t easy; a chance to meet was rare.

”With Minglang promoted to Vice President, his schedule won’t be as tight as before, some work handed over to the new General Manager—whom you also know.”

It should be Qiao Zhen; Yu Minglang lifted many of his own people.

”We comply with organizational arrangements,” Qian smiled faintly.

Does this mean more time with her? Although still less than normal couples, it should be better than before. Wait, something feels odd?

”Master, what did you just say?”

”I said Minglang is now the Vice President; the order just came through, but since our unit is also in Phantom Snow, he still has a lot of work to manage over the next six months, once everything settles into place—”

”Not that, but you said work needs to be executed by the General Manager? He’s not that busy?”

”Yeah, Minglang’s original role was taking over the company; earlier roles were practice only—as personnel shortage was severe—gradually sorted out later.”

Qian felt like she was struck by lightning, motionless for quite some time.

What about the Yu Minglang from the past life?

In her past life, not knowing that Yu Minglang was her benefactor, meeting him again happened when she was taken hostage by bad guys; by then, Yu Minglang had already attained the Vice President’s—perhaps even higher—position.

But he rescued her from the villains, taking severe injuries himself.

Yu Minglang didn’t enjoy bars, was usually very busy, yet he appeared that day?

A bold speculation spread through her mind.

The mysteries of the past life seem to unravel in this life.

Yu Minglang differs; he possesses photographic memory, moreover in the past life they corresponded. He used an alias, yet she used her real name. When he rescued her, he surely knew her identity!

Possibly, he specifically rushed there to save her!

In retrospect, complaints about their first meeting, the coat action, the cold remark about the danger of visiting bars alone were not coincidental!

He remembered her, always remembered her! Maybe didn’t know how to express, hence feigned indifference!

This realization warmed Qian’s heart suddenly.

The longing stirred during treating Hu Meijing eased slightly.

Perhaps predestined separations aren’t as bleak as imagined; you’d meet such heartwarming individuals along the way, making journeys less dull.

Qian suddenly very much wanted to see Yu Minglang, not just for work, purely longing.

”This is Yu Minglang.”

Yu Minglang answered the phone.

Unexpectedly, the voice he dreamed of night and day came through the line.

”This is Dr. Chen Xiaoqian.”

”Qian Bao?”

Yu Minglang was surprised it was her.

”Call me Dr. Chen.”

”Dr. Chen, how can I assist you?”

Yu Minglang understood, whenever Qian called herself Dr. Chen, it meant business cooperation.

Surely, Hu Meijing’s matter involved his precious Qian handling it.

Yu Minglang contemplated the collaboration with Dr. Chen, imagining her smile in a lab coat—what a heavenly sight?

”I need you to retrieve the Lone Wolf’s death investigation records from years ago; of course, you may mask confidential parts. We’ll make a fair judgment without breaching confidentiality.”

”You doubt my brother?”

”Special cases need exceptional measures; I’m not doubting Liu Shuang, but such sentiments aren’t only in the families—even present among you. When someone passes, unresolved emotional distress lacks an outlet, and hurts everyone. You don’t think only Hu Meijing is wounded? Wrong! Every participant of that incident carries scars, we must clear Liu Shuang’s name!”

”Clear his name?

”Clear him of distracted failure due to quarreling with Hu Meijing leading to his death.” This matters not only for Meijing’s treatment but Minglang’s other brothers.
