Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 529: Chapter 503: Two Selves

”What is Qian doing?” Mr Liu saw Qian using some method that made Hu Meijing fall asleep, and it was amazing how sleeping Hu Meijing would raise her hand according to Qian’s instructions.

”She has brought Meijing into a deep hypnosis state, this kid self-studied to this level...” Mr Liu felt that Qian’s current skill level was no less than the doctoral students she was supervising.

Beginners can master a lot of theoretical knowledge from books, but they don’t know how to use it. Qian, however, can make adept clinical diagnoses at every juncture, as if she has amassed a wealth of clinical experience, which is quite astonishing.

If this child really relies entirely on self-study, then her talent and understanding are truly extraordinary.

”Will Meijing be alright after Qian does this?” Mr Liu asked again.

”Seventy percent relies on Meijing herself, thirty percent on Qian.”

”How could it be that way? Should Xiaoli do it then?” Xiaoli is a doctoral student supervised by Mr Liu, now working in the neurology department of a hospital.

”Xiaoli’s success rate is even lower than Qian’s, thirty percent is already very high. It still relies on the patient’s own willingness. Qian has already achieved the utmost of a psychologist. Even switching to someone else, even myself, wouldn’t be better than her.”

”It seems you’re very pleased with this student.” They hadn’t heard the old lady give such a high evaluation of someone in years. All the doctoral candidates she supervised were top students. Qian surely had the capability to outshine others to earn such admiration from Mr Liu.

”Much more pleased than with you, old man, get out of the way and don’t block the path!” Mr Liu pushed Mr Liu aside with her hand, focused on watching Qian’s upcoming actions.

Qian and Hu Meijing’s treatment had reached the most crucial part.

When Hu Meijing had already emptied all her emotions without regrets, Qian attempted deep hypnosis, entering Hu Meijing’s deeper subconscious, trying to weaken her past interactions with the Lone Wolf and attempt to awaken her second personality.

Internationally, there are six levels of hypnosis standards, the highest being Level 6. Qian took Hu Meijing through level by level hypnosis, testing after each one. If successful, she would move on to the next phase of hypnosis.

When she completely immersed in the world of the subconscious, after Qian woke her up, she wouldn’t remember what happens during hypnosis.

Qian rarely used such high-level hypnosis techniques; everyone’s physiology is different. For someone like Yu Minglang, even getting him to Level 1 hypnosis is difficult. This hypnosis technique requires a lot from the hypnotist; not everyone can manage it. Many psychology students have only heard of this concept, but few have seen it firsthand, hence this deep hypnosis is also called negative hallucination.

Now Qian had to ponder every word she said thrice, cautious and prudent.

”Meijing, there’s a clock on the wall in front of you, white background with black hands, and the second hand ticks motioning with every second, I’m going to count 1, 2, 3, you’ll open your eyes on the count of 3.”

As Qian counted three numbers, in fact, the wall opposite her was entirely blank; there was no clock at all.

This was to test what level hypnosis state Hu Meijing had entered; being able to lift her hand would prove she had already entered Level 4.

Qian finished counting, and Hu Meijing opened her eyes, looking at the blank white wall.

”Meijing, what time is it?” Qian asked.

”Five past three.”

”Did you see the hands moving?”

”Yes.”

Great! She had already entered Level 5 state.

Seeing the success, Qian felt joy in her heart. As long as she could reach Level 6, it would count as half success. After reaching Level 5 successfully, Qian began challenging Level 6.

Outside the door, Mr Liu watched with tension and excitement. Qian was like an endless treasure trove, full of surprises.

Qian cautiously conducted deep hypnosis on Hu Meijing. When she woke Hu Meijing up again, Hu Meijing had successfully entered the Level 6 state.

At this state, the self is purely instinctual; no one can control their heart and subconscious, and Qian began thoroughly brainwashing Hu Meijing.

Now Hu Meijing appeared as though she were sleeping; her body very relaxed, yet she could still hear external sounds, her consciousness had already 75% entered her inner world. Now, she couldn’t see or feel anything besides Qian, and in the Level 6 hypnosis state, she was extremely susceptible to suggestions and hints.

Qian easily awakened her second personality, and when Qian played the previous conversation between Chu Xuan and Qian, Hu Meijing closed her eyes and began to cry.

When Chu Xuan’s voice gently flowed through the room, speaking of no matter who she is, whether or not she remembers him didn’t matter. Qian touched Hu Meijing’s belly and said softly.

”Everything from the past is just a dream. In that dream, you once loved and lost, but when you wake up, you should start anew. This man called Chu Xuan is waiting for you to return to your family. You still have his baby in your belly, you both have been waiting for this baby for a long time. Would you like to set up a new home with him for the baby, and are willing to go back, to see the man waiting for you?”

”My dream is so painful... In the dream, someone is waiting for me...”

”It’s not him waiting for you, it’s you who won’t let go of yourself. Listen to me, don’t be afraid to open your eyes and see, who is waiting for you? It’s yourself! The person inside the dream hopes for your happiness; he hopes you can bravely start a new life, to replace him to live out the peaceful joys of life.”

”Yes, he told me to be happy...”

”Only by letting go of the past can you step towards the future. The good and bad of the past are left to the dream version of you; now you must face the person hidden in your heart, Meijing, go on...”

Hu Meijing felt she was drifting within a desolate space, where from afar came a familiar, gentle voice.

Liu Shuang stood right beside her, his voice very gentle, but Hu Meijing couldn’t see his expression clearly, it was blurred.

”Meijing, go back, back to where you should return.”

”But... was it really just a dream? Why do I feel so reluctant, I want to be with you forever.” Hu Meijing reached out to try to hold his hand.

But grasped only air.

”Anything can be abandoned, nothing forgotten; without me, your life must continue.” Liu Shuang’s voice echoed by the ear. Hu Meijing looked at the gentle past version of him, shaking her head in pain.

”The thing I least want to see is your sadness, Meijing. We are not separated, we are still together; you’ve already stayed to accompany me, haven’t you?”

Hu Meijing opened her eyes and saw another self standing beside Liu Shuang, a vibrant version of herself. She looked at her hands, then at the self Liu Shuang was holding, full of confusion.

Why are there two of me?
