Chapter 695: 573 Chapter In Front of Hell’s Gate_1

”What’s wrong?” Huai Shi frowned.

”Uh...” the subordinate hesitated and stuttered, ”According to the surveillance records, after she... no, he left the prison, he hid in your room and even locked the door... Now we don’t know what the hell he’s up to.”

Needless to say, this guy must have imagined a ton of inappropriate, perverted things.

Huai Shi was stunned for a while, suddenly feeling an inexplicable sense of guilt. Had she been a bit too harsh on this girl? Here she was, shut away in her room for reflection, totally unaware that she was inexplicably carrying the blame—it was a bit too tragic.

”Did he notice anything unusual?” Huai Shi asked.

”No,” said the subordinate. ”We didn’t alarm him.”

”Good.”

’Liz’ nodded in approval, speaking seriously, ”Even though that bastard looks good, don’t be fooled by him. He is very cunning. First, let’s gather our people and seal that area off before launching a full ’Offensive’. Give him no chance to escape!”

”Yes,” the subordinate nodded, but still stood in place, obviously waiting for her to go with him.

How could he, this imposter, dare to confront the real person? If there was no Michel Buddha, he would be exposed, wouldn’t he?

In fact, she was already planning to make a run for it and could only find an excuse; she waved her hand and said, ”You guys go first, I need to report to Teacher Michelle.”

The subordinate was stunned for a moment, then looked confused. ”But Principal Michelle has already left with the team, Miss Liz, have you forgotten?”

”...”

During a brief moment of silence, the expression under Huai Shi’s illusion twitched, and she broke out in a cold sweat but managed to maintain her composure, coughing slightly, ”That asshole confused me so much... and I loved him once.”

”Er... erm?!”

The subordinate was first startled, then taken aback, and finally remained taken aback. His expression changed rapidly, and his inner world was violently shaken, as if a pile driver had been stuffed inside, leaving him completely dumbfounded.

What in the world are you talking about, Big Sister?!

To cover up her blunder, Huai Shi had no choice but to throw out some explosive news to distract her subordinate’s attention.

At this moment, though her conscience was not at ease, Huai Shi still made an effort to appear somber and touched her own abdomen, sighing desolately, ”He really did deceive me all along...”

”Er?!!!!!!”

The subordinate looked on dumbly at ’Liz’’s action, his face turning pale.

What on earth? What’s going on here? Big Sister, what exactly does that gesture mean?!

”Sorry, let me be alone for a while, I want some peace.”

Huai Shi bowed her head, rubbed her face, took a deep breath, and through the gaps between her fingers, saw the dazed subordinate leave, finally sighing with relief.

Finally managed to fool him into leaving.

She turned and slipped into the corridor.

After reaching the corner, his clothes and appearance quickly changed, transforming into the very subordinate he had just encountered, and he hurriedly ducked into the restroom.

The identity of ’Liz’ was bound to be exposed sooner or later, but even the subordinate’s appearance was not necessarily safe; he had to find a harmless identity.

The Seed of Bubble Shadow could probably last another ten minutes.

Huai Shi turned and closed the bathroom door, nimbly pulling out a small match from his saddlebag and lighting it.

A flickering flame faintly illuminated the scene atop the Iron Crystal Throne.

The old man in the bridge of the Iron Crystal Throne seemed to notice and turned his head, looking towards Huai Shi through the flame, showing a smile.

The Director of Affairs’ ethereal voice echoed inside Huai Shi’s mind, ”It seems you’ve succeeded already?”

”Halfway there, I’d say,” Huai Shi responded, ”You guys aren’t planning to let me break out of prison all by myself, are you? Where’s the support?”

Raymond’s voice came from Huai Shi’s mind, mixed with the rough sound of engines and a series of roars, ”I’ll be near your airspace in three minutes. As soon as you send the signal, the bloodhounds will help you evacuate.”

”If you need some help, this is for you.”

With the Director of Affairs’ voice, Huai Shi felt that something had suddenly appeared inside the Dream Cage. Through the ephemeral Dream World as a mediator, Huai Shi laboriously pulled it out from Soloist’s Stigma, and he found a deck of exquisitely printed cards.

On each card was the image of a gigantic, modified Rat-man warrior, the basic forms of the Paradise Guard, totaling twenty-six cards.

This was the Stand-painted Summoning Technique from the Muse Club.

By some method, life was compressed and sealed into the tiny cards, ready to be unleashed when needed, essentially functioning as portable summoning beasts.

The tool of tools, really?

Huai Shi sighed, pocketing the cards, taking advantage of the brief moments before the match burned out to ask, ”So, what’s my mission?”

”Escape,” the Director of Affairs paused briefly, then said seriously, ”Of course, the bigger the commotion while ensuring your escape, the better.”

Suddenly, a roaring sound came from the distance, followed by the piercing blast of an alarm.

The ceiling trembled slightly.

Huai Shi shrugged, ”If that’s the goal, it should be nearly accomplished.”

”...Well then, return safely soon,” the Director of Affairs advised just before the flame went out.

”I will.”

The flame flickered and extinguished in front of Huai Shi’s fingertips.

A wispy trail of blue smoke rose gently.

Huai Shi flicked the spent match away, his pulse keeping time quietly counting down. When he reached one hundred and two, another roar came from afar.

The storage vault had exploded.

Then, an even sharper and more piercing alarm sounded, echoing through every corner.

Huai Shi pushed open the door to the bathroom, washed his face, and listened to the chaotic footsteps rising from the outside hallway, as someone sprinted toward the distance.

Faint screams carried over.

He tore off a piece of paper, dried his hands, and after dropping an Alchemy Bomb into each toilet, he pushed the door open and left.

Blending into the crowd, he made his way through to the exit.

Relying on his constantly changing appearance, he encountered no unexpected obstructions along the way. Instead, due to not knowing the way, he took two wrong turns before finally finding the place.

By this time, Huai Shi had transformed into a crisply dressed Sublimator, wearing a pilot’s jacket, striding toward the Airship’s hangar.

At that moment, the hangar was bustling with activity. Smoke-belching fliers were being pushed over from the outer deck’s slide rails, and numerous workers were tensely making repairs. Simultaneously, more flying squadrons were taking to the sky from the far end of the outer deck. Injured Eyes of Nightmare were also being carried out of the cabins for emergency treatment.

It was as if they were in a state of war. Busy and chaotic, with personnel moving about everywhere.

Just as Huai Shi had hoped.

He lowered his head, quickened his steps, and merged into the chaos, utterly unremarkable.

However, gradually, it became difficult for him to move.

Even though the outer deck was just a step away, it felt as if he was shouldering a heavy burden, making it difficult to move.

His face turned ashen, sweat soaked his back.

Feeling like a target, yet he dared not turn around.

The people around noticed his abnormality, and stared in astonishment, then, amidst the sharp sounds of metal grinding, panicked and backed away.

A dim yellow light poured in from the wide-open door of the hangar, illuminating Huai Shi’s face.

The straight light of the setting sun stretched his shadow. Backward it extended, all the way to the end of the hangar, beneath the Iron boots.

In the dim light that the illumination failed to reach, an armored man slowly emerged, the emblem of the Eye of Nightmare on his shoulder silently opened, emitting a cold red beam.

The Lion Helmet covered his face, indifferent and calm.

”Return, Huai Shi,” that man who had been seen once on the bridge issued a hoarse voice, ”Take one more step forward, and it’s Hell.”

The silent Avery, the Ten Thousand Chiefs of the Eye of Nightmare, thus spoke.

”Even if you say so, it’s very difficult for me to comply,” Huai Shi couldn’t help but let out a light laugh.

Chaotic footsteps sounded, running guards raised their guns, aiming at the solitary figure, ready for a fight.

Even outside the hangar, on the outer deck, sharp sounds arose.

Those were the screeching noises made by the Stone Tooth Sword scraping against the steel of the deck, sparks flying in deep grooves.

Liz moved forward step by step, her azure eyes cold, devoid of any emotional fluctuation.

She looked somewhat disheveled, her hair seemed burnt by something, and traces akin to coal ash were smeared on her fair skin.

And behind her, a sun was rising.

That was a phantom sun.

A blessing from The First Sun, and a manifestation of murderous intent from the God-blood.

Little by little, a pitch-black eclipse emerged from it until in the end, the dark sun became a ferocious halo, heralding the arrival of the Dark Age.

The First Sun era was about to end.

The Gods were going to abandon the world, turn into beasts of prey, and devour their own people.

This was the most primitive destruction in the mythology of America.

”Huai Shi, just stand there, don’t move,” she gazed at Huai Shi’s face and told him word by word, ”I am coming over now—”

An unprecedented murderous intent enveloped Huai Shi, causing him to feel waves of stinging pain.

But in the last brief moment, Huai Shi couldn’t help but turn his head and look behind him, ”Can I ask a cliché question, how did you find me?”

”Color,” Avery said, ”I’ve seen your Soul’s color, Huai Shi, only this color cannot deceive anyone.”

”I won’t ask what color my Soul is. Right now I have only one question...” Huai Shi gave an awkward smile, pointing to his opponent who was approaching him step by step, and who, in her rage, had lost all reason, High Priest Liz, ”If I surrender now and go back to my cell, can you stop her for me?”

Avery remained indifferent, ”That is your affair, it has nothing to do with me.”

”Then I have no choice.”

Huai Shi diverted his gaze forward, towards the approaching Liz, and smiled.

Then, he slowly lowered his body, accumulating strength between the tensed muscles.

In everyone’s sight, he closed his eyes, and then—

With a THUD, he dropped to his knees on the ground.

In an instant, silence arrived.

Everyone’s movements froze in shock.

”I’m sorry, Miss Liz, I lied to you,” Huai Shi bent down, hands propped between the deck and his forehead, and shouted loudly, ”Please, for the sake of our unborn child, give me a chance, let’s start over!”

”You bastard...” Liz’s teeth ground together, sparking, followed by an indescribable ferocity that appeared on her beautiful face.

”—GO TO HELL!!”

The flaming Stone Tooth Sword roared, enveloping scorching light, slashing towards Huai Shi’s head.

And faster than the Stone Tooth Sword, was the sudden huge sound bursting from the sky.

Beneath the endless grey sea of clouds, suddenly a dark shadow burst through.
